Re: Ruby and Logan
If Ruby indulged every time she felt like it, she’d probably get nothing done. She certainly wouldn’t be able to pull her ass out of bed in the morning and get herself to Moxie’s. Fortunately, she’d taken tomorrow off, so she could sleep in until noon if she wanted to. She considered that ‘partying responsibly’, when the only real downside was the hangover she’d suffer in the morning. It made her wish she’d brought Aidan’s bottle of booze with her, but she knew she wouldn’t want to share. “Small groups can be fun,” she agreed. “Just as long as it’s not a party of one.” Not that she was judging, but drinking alone felt like the first step towards alcoholism. Better to always have a partner in crime. “Just came with friends, though they’ve all fucked off somewhere,” she smiled, gesturing towards the beach and beyond. Though she was loathe to admit it, Ruby wasn’t all that close to very many people, and spending the last few months with Clint hadn’t exactly helped that. Jasper was probably her closest friend, even though she knew she wasn’t his. Which was fine. She didn’t need a BFF to be happy. “Should probably secure myself a ride home soon, but whatever. What about you?”
Logan enjoyed being around people but he'd never had a problem being alone either. He'd found plenty of ways to entertain himself all on his own, though he could understand why someone would rather party with other people. Being alone could be depressing for some people. "I came alone too," he said with a mock pout before shrugging. "Jasper disappeared with Jules, so I've just been making the rounds with people I know. I can take you home if you need a ride." He wasn't wasted, just a little high but he'd driven enough times with THC in his system and he'd always been fine. Besides, he knew where Ruby lived and it wasn't like it was all that far. Logan cocked a brow and grinned. "Unless you're looking to have another hot guy take you home, then I won't step on any toes."
“That was the plan, but no toes to step on yet,” Ruby grinned, then gave Logan a once over. He was hot, just as he’d always been, and she was kind of surprised he hadn’t already hooked up with someone and bailed. In terms of cute rides home, she could do much, much worse. “You count though, so if you don’t disappear too, I’ll take you up on that. I don’t really want to crash here tonight, and if I try walking home, with my luck the PPPD will pick me up. Fuck, that’s a mouthful. PPPD,” she snickered. “No wonder there’s so many other names for ‘em.” She probably shouldn’t have had so much to drink, but after her conversation with Clint she’d wanted to forget and getting plastered was the easiest way to do that.
Logan figured he needed to get back on the hook-up train, or whatever it was called. Now that he couldn't hook up with Jasper anymore. Which sucked, but it was what it was and he'd always been the kind of person to go with the flow and all that. No point in being upset or jealous. Those emotions were annoying as fuck. "Christ, I hope you don't want to crash here tonight," Logan said with a laugh. "You'd wake up with sand in your mouth, among other places. But nah, I think the PPPD have more important things to do than hassle a hot girl about walking home. But it's definitely not a good idea to walk home alone after dark." He lifted his own drink in a small salute. "I'm not gonna disappear anytime soon, I don't think. Might as well enjoy the free alcohol while I can."
“Awww, you think I’m hot. Thanks, Logan,” Ruby grinned. She wasn’t sure that was enough to deter a cop, but she’d rather not find out. The last way she wanted to end her night was calling her dad from the police station. “Walking home at night ’s not smart even sober. Not around here. That’s, like, horror movie stupid.” She frowned for a moment, getting lost in her thoughts of how wrong that could go, before she gave herself a little shake and smiled. Tonight was for putting all that behind her. She was supposedly safe now, at least in her dreams, and that should be celebrated. “Never turn down free alcohol. You ever wonder who brings it? I always figured it was someone up in Overlook.” She certainly didn’t have the money to throw at this many people.
