Who: Shane and Reza and Shan (cameo by Caden) When: midday into night, Wednesday, July 4 Where: downtown festivities!, Dragonfly, Seaview Status: complete
Shan was getting the impression that she was going to be one of those women who might as well be a widow on holidays and weekends. It was the Fourth of July, and Caden was working at the bar all day until close, because of course he was, this was one of their busiest nights of the year. It would’ve been one of her busiest nights too, if Shan was still stripping, but of course she was some ‘respectable’ married woman now. What a fucking laugh that was. In any case, it made her wish that she’d already made a bunch of friends to hang out with, because stuff like this was boring alone.
She’d arrived before the parade started and just milled around for a while, people-watching while she drank a couple of beers. Some faces of the townspeople were becoming familiar, but she didn’t really know anyone yet, so that didn’t mean much. As the parade got underway, Shan got a fresh beer and some cotton candy and found a bench to perch on the back of to watch the floats go by and listen to the people cheer. Good old all American fun, right?
Shane was essentially built for days like these. He loved crowds and noise and fireworks, going out and meeting people, getting a little drunk and then hopefully having wild sex at the end of the day to top it off. This year was the first time he had someone to do all those things with and so there was less urgency somehow, less pressure overall. He was roaming the area with Reza and had run into a few people he knew by now which kind of made him feel like a local. It was a weird feeling but then again most things felt weird these days so with that in mind he supposed it felt like the new normal.
He wasn't terribly surprised when he spotted Shan though he was surprised to see she was alone. He tugged on Reza's hand and gestured over to the bench before leaning in close to tell him, "I know her, come say hi with me." Both his hands were occupied - one with Reza's hand, the other with a beer, so he just smiled as he approached Shan, giving her an up-nod when she noticed him. "Why are you alone?" he asked loud enough to cut through the noise around them. "Where is your man?"
Shan wasn’t surprised to see Shane, per se, but she was definitely grateful for it, and she perked up as soon as she saw him on his way over. She stayed perched on the back of the bench, smiling as she eyed the man Shane was holding hands with, who she recognized from the pics on Shane’s phone -- the guy he was so reluctantly moony over. He certainly knew how to dress, which set him apart from most of the rest of the crowd around them. “He’s working,” Shan said with a dramatic roll of her eyes and a heavy sigh. Not that Caden working was a bad thing, she just wished he could do it on a schedule that was more convenient for her. “You’re not alone though -- hello there, handsome,” she went on, grinning at Reza. “You must be the new boo.”
Reza wasn’t terribly patriotic in general, but it was kind of fun to be in a crowd of people this size, especially in a town that usually felt so small. It was all festive and decorated, and the level of noise didn’t bother him at all. The atmosphere was fun, and he was looking forward to the funnel cake in his future. Reza went along where Shane pulled him easily, an answering smile surfacing on his face as they approached the dark-haired woman. She was obviously beautiful and fit, and when she addressed him he realized she must be the friend Shane had told him about, the pole dancer. “That’s me, I guess,” he confirmed with a little grin in return.
"Reza, Shan, Shan, Reza," Shane said dutifully as he gestured between them before confirming what Reza was thinking. "Shan's the girl I might be going into business with." He wagged his brows because it sounded a little too serious when in reality it was just a money thing; money issues weren't very serious to Shane anymore though he wasn't so removed from reality that he didn't realize it was for most other people. "And Reza is indeed the boo. Not even the new boo, just... The boo, the only boo ever, really." He squeezed Reza's hand as he spoke, then grinned at him. "I wasn't planning on booing at all, ever, but here we are, stupid in love and it's actually amazing." He was kind of glad Shan wasn't with her man, the Lucas brothers didn't seem like super fun people to hang out with whereas Shan was and he was more than okay with keeping her company today, he just hoped Reza was too.
While the two of them smiled that dumb dreamy smile at each other, Shan started to make gagging noises, one hand around her throat as she leaned back and faked a brief death. “Ugh you’re already so gross, stop, I can feel the cavities forming,” she declared, though she was grinning herself as she climbed off of the bench to stand with them. She had never really been into mushy romantic shit, so she was glad that Caden wasn’t either ... but Shane and Reza did look pretty happy together and that was cute. Shane deserved to be happy, especially with a guy who would help him keep his life together.
The fact that Shane was openly declaring his love now made Reza feel like he was glowing on the inside, and he beamed back at him. At least until Shan called them out, then his cheeks flushed and he tried to reel it in some. “I mean, we can’t help being perfect together,” he replied with a smirk, squeezing Shane’s hand back.
Shane laughed at Shan's dramatics but he didn't let it get to him, beaming at her, especially when Reza squeezed his hand back. "Yeah, it's hard to tone down this amount of sexy," he said with a titter and as much of a flourish as he could make with a beer in his hand. "So you're alone today? Not meeting anyone? You need more friends if you're going to survive this town, trust me. You can hang with us, if you can handle the noxious gasses of love." And it was probably obnoxious, but now that he felt more comfortable with the word, he really enjoyed saying it and he wasn't completely oblivious to the way it seemed to make Reza happy. "I'd introduce you to some of our friends but they're all gay and crazy, but I guess you're kinda into that." He grinned at her but really, most of his friends were AIR and what if they all just went ahead and got themselves killed in the next few weeks? Basically a terrible group of friends for anyone.
“Gay and crazy is my jam, absolutely,” Shan agreed with enthusiasm. She was oblivious to the danger they were all in, of course, so meeting Shane’s friends sounded like a quick way to find out who was actually cool in this town. “Please hook me up with some fun people, because my sisters in law are total snoozes, so far. Plus, y’know, they all think I’m gonna steal all of Caden’s non-existent money or something.” Shan rolled her eyes. “But yeah no, I’m not meeting anyone. Flying solo until later when Caden’s off. I just had to get out of the house. Where were you guys headed? Are you actually watching this thing?” Lifting her beer for another swallow, Shan looked over toward the parade slowly passing by.
"We're watching this thing and drinking these beers," Shane said cheerfully. "And so are you, by the looks of it," he added teasingly since she was here too and her question had come off a bit like the fireworks were guaranteed to be boring. "After the fireworks we're going to Dragonfly and hoping against hope we'll get seats. You wanna come? We're planning on getting wasted and collecting pretty people along the way." He was hoping to run into more people he knew, crowds were fun and he kind of wanted a party without having to throw one at his house. Something like Toby's birthday would be perfect, just a bunch of people he knew all hanging out at the same bar. Shan was a good start.
Fireworks were pretty boring when one was watching them alone, in Shan’s opinion, so the plan that Shane laid out was much more appealing. She grinned at the both of them and lifted her plastic cup for a toast, tapping it against Shane’s drink and then Reza’s. “Hell yeah I wanna come,” she said. She wasn’t free to have as much fun with pretty people as she used to be, but she could still enjoy the company. Her prospects for the evening had already vastly improved with these two showing up. “And I mean, you’re off to a great start for a collection,” Shan added, smirking. There seemed to be plenty of hot people in Point Pleasant, more so than she would’ve expected for a small rural town, but Shan wasn’t going to complain.
“We left the house a good start,” Reza put in with a good natured grin. He wasn’t sure what other people they were going to pick up along the way, but he did kind of hope they ran into some of the other people they’d bonded with, so Shan didn’t feel like a third wheel or anything. He was feeling light and sociable himself too, and already looking forward to Dragonfly’s magical vibes and having a fun evening.
Shane probably would have enjoyed the fireworks if he was alone, or he'd done what he usually did when he was alone and made some one night friends to hang out with. He loved crowds of people having fun together, it always felt a bit like magic to him, energizing and exciting. It wasn't exotic anymore but he still felt a trace of that old wonder he'd first felt at a festival after escaping AIR.
He jokingly posed a little when Reza made his statement and he was content to stay where they were for a little while, though that obviously didn't last. They ended up wandering the area, getting themselves some more drinks, rambling at strangers and eventually finding Diego alone in the crowd, just begging to be adopted into their little group. It wasn't quite the huge entourage Shane had hoped for, but he had to admit that maybe Fourth of July celebrations weren't everyone's idea of a fun party. Drinking definitely helped though and he promised Shan he'd throw a real party soon so she could meet some people. "I'm starting to crave a real drink," he admitted as the night dragged on and Diego hurried home because Oliver was almost off work. "Like something... strong and fruity, like my baby," he tittered at that last bit and slung his arm around Reza's shoulders.
Reza wasn’t huge on beer, but when it was the only thing around he would drink it. It had given him a decent buzz through all of the wandering and crowd-watching, but it always wore off fast, so he definitely felt ready to really drink too. The fireworks were still popping off in the sky, but Reza felt like once you’d seen one fireworks show, you’d seen them all. He snickered and rolled his eyes at Shane’s compliment, pinching lightly at his side after he wrapped his own arm around his man. “Nothing will be as tasty as me, though,” he pointed out with a grin. “Want to head on over to Dragonfly?”
“Yes! Let’s go really drink,” Shan declared eagerly, grabbing Shane’s free hand to bounce-pull them away from the crowd. If they got there before the fireworks ended, they would at least get their foot in the door before the afterparty crowd poured in. The bar scene was much more her speed than hanging out on a pier looking up at pretty lights.
In truth, nightclubs and bars were also more Shane and Reza's speed; they were creatures of comfort and indulgence and getting to Dragonfly early enough to get good seats was a good plan for them. Shane was certainly hopeful that they would when they withdrew from the crowd and found the rest of the town a lot less busy but there were already a lot of people at the bar when they finally got there. They were lucky though, a table freed up just minutes after they walked in and Shane all but bounced onto it to claim it for them. "Do you feel like we should have gone to the Porch and hassled your man?" he asked Shan teasingly after they'd ordered some drinks. "Don't tell him but Dragonfly is way nicer."
“Absolutely not,” Shan answered immediately, laughing. She could very well picture the annoyed look on Caden’s face if she came in with her friends -- friends like this, anyway. Good looking male friends. Reza read as pretty gay, but Shan wasn’t sure that would matter to Caden, she already knew he had a jealous streak. It was kind of sexy in a dark way. “I’m sure he knows that. It’s like they want to keep it a shitty dive bar, they don’t listen to any of my suggestions. The crowd that goes there is so lame anyway, every time I’ve been.” She rolled her eyes and stuck her tongue out briefly. “Know your customers, I guess. I do love this place though, I’ve been here a few times. Ooh! Did you guys know there’s a karaoke bar?”
The Lucas brothers all seemed very heterosexual so it was no surprise to Shane to hear they were stuck in their ways. Shan would make the most out of her own dance studio when the time came and Shane had a feeling they should probably set that up real soon - just in case. "Oh yes, the karaoke bar is the only place competing for our affection in the bar business these days, We've been a few times." He almost blurted out something about magical effects before he remembered that Shan was probably in the dark there. "Have you been yet? Because we can totally go, sing a few songs and get wasted." It was kind of funny to him because singing was not one of his strong points but he never cared when they went to the Empty Orchestra and yet he usually hated being mediocre or bad at things. He knew his strengths and he always played to them because he liked to impress people.
“You should hear us duet ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,’” Reza said with a smug little smile. Maybe they weren’t the best singers -- Shane wasn’t, at least -- but they had a blast every time they went, and he loved the enchantments on that place. Reza was sure Shan wouldn’t know what he meant if he brought those up, but she would at least feel the effects soon enough, it sounded like.
Shan laughed as she shook her head, looking delighted. “No, I haven’t been yet. Karaoke is no fun alone, and I think Caden would rather die first.” She rolled her eyes affectionately. She hadn’t asked him, but considering how he’d reacted to some of her other suggestions, she was fairly certain of that. “Sooooo yeah, we’re totally doing that.” Shan nodded decisively and bounced a little in her seat, then made a happy noise when their drinks arrived. She pulled her close to suck on the straw immediately, very ready to be happy-drunk in this bar that felt so nice to be in, with the only people in this town who she really related to.
Shane stuck his tongue out in a disgusted gesture before looking at Reza. "I believe her new husband has what we call Powerful Dick Game, because I don't know why else she'd stay with him." He turned to Shan again, shaking his head. "Your man is boring. B-O-R-I-... just boring. No fireworks, no karaoke, you're like a princess who needs saving from Prince Boring. Is there a word for boring that rhymes with charming?" That last was aimed at Reza before he slurped down some of his new drink, already feeling even more fuzzy warm just from being inside Dragonfly. If anyone would know something like that without looking it up, it was Reza. Shane had unfailing belief in his intellect. He was also the type to actually look it up so that could be handy, even if the joke would be old by the time he found the word Shane had needed.
“Hey now, watch it,” Shan protested, though she was grinning as she did it. “I’ll have you know that the Dick Game is incredibly powerful, show respect. He’s not boring, he just ... has a very low tolerance for corniness. And he probably would’ve come to the fireworks with me if the bar was closed, but business is business.” Shan shrugged and sipped on her drink, thinking about all of the very particular fun she and Caden had been having together. Fun she was sure Shane would understand, if anyone could. She wasn’t sure yet how kinky his pretty new boyfriend was, but if he kept Shane entertained, then Shan was willing to bet Reza would get it too. “What I really need saving from is this snoozefest of a town. Like it’s this place and karaoke and ... ? That’s it, as far as cool places go? Or have you guys found any other gems?”
Shane looked skeptical just to tease her but he couldn't sustain that joke for long before he was laughing again, more than willing to accept that Shan's man could be fun in different ways. Her question made him groan and he looked to Reza again, wrinkling his nose as he gave him a pained look. "No, there's... This place is dull as hell," he said because he couldn't really fill her in on the sexy magic parties and craziness going on underneath the surface. Right now he wondered why he was trying to hide it from her, it wasn't like he had to tell her everything there was to know but maybe he just didn't want her to think he was completely mental. He liked her and scaring her off didn't seem like the best idea. "If you're lucky you get invited to sexy parties or you start settling in and becoming just as boring, willing to chill at home with your boo." He was probably guilty of that, he missed Chicago and the nightclubs less and less these days.
Reza shot him a smirky-but purse-lipped look at that last comment, more amused than offended. He was well aware of how big of a deal it was that Shane was settling in and becoming content with just chilling at home with him. Reza knew that nobody in Shane’s past had gotten to that point, and he didn’t take it for granted. But it did kind of make him sound like some lame homebody himself. “We went to Boston for a mini-trip just to find some real nightlife,” Reza told Shan so she didn’t think he was the most boring boyfriend ever. “But for the most part, locally ... yeah, it’s Dragonfly as the only tolerable bar, or the Orchestra. Or the strip club, if you’re into that. We’ve been gradually making the right kinds of friends for those kinds of parties.”
At the mention of Cherries, Shan made gagging sounds and rolled her eyes. “Don’t even call it a strip club, it’s a titty bar at best,” she said. Shan couldn’t help sounding haughty about it, but she felt justified. The club she’d been working in Atlantic City hadn’t exactly been the classiest place around, but they’d had standards she saw no sign of the one time she’d dropped in at Cherries. “I’m intrigued about sexy parties though, have you guys been to many of those? Are we talking like, nudity on the beach or orgies or what?”
"I've been building up toward the orgy," Shane explained with some gusto. "But everyone's a little shy and monogamous so far. So far it's just sexy parties because we're all so fucking sexy in them." He gestured around their little table and laughed. "Like this is a sexy party." He had - for obvious reasons - not been to Cherries during his stay in Point Pleasant. Some part of him wanted to support sex workers but at the same time the clientele in places like that was so unpleasant, he didn't see why he should subject himself to a hoard of boring, horny straight men when he could chill with a fun, sexy gay one. Boobs were plentiful in the world and they were a joy to look at but that price was just too high.
That made Shan laugh and playfully preen at her hair, and she was glad that Shane’s boyfriend laughed too. Caden probably wouldn’t have taken so well to her joking around about sexy parties and trying to get orgies started. Or hell, maybe he would, if the right people were there. Shan hadn’t felt him out about group sex yet. Maybe she ought to start. “Goddamn right, we’re a sexy party,” she said, grinning as she clinked her glass against Shane’s drink, and then Reza’s. “I’ll drink to that.” And she did, tossing back most of what was in front of her. She was going to need another one fairly soon ... and then maybe a few more after that. Then she could see if Shane -- or both of them! -- would dance with her for a while before she went home to Mr-Boring-But-Not.
As the night went on and the drinks kept coming, Shane was delighted to dance with her, even if it meant they lost their table. The place filled up pretty quickly and it turned into one of those affairs where everyone was friends - even if they might not remember each others' names the next day or really care to. Dragonfly's magic had its effects on them of course but Shane thought it went beyond that; people were in a pretty good mood when they entered the place and there was a different kind of magic in the air as well, something he wasn't sure was man made so much as it was simply one of those nights. It was starting to look like he and Reza might have another situation on their hands where they were the more sober and responsible ones as Shan kept downing her drinks with gusto and he couldn't help but be amused at how he'd gone from being the overly drunk idiot being taken advantage of - to being the guy keeping someone from getting taken advantage of. Shan probably didn't need anyone to hold her hand though and the only reason he wasn't keeping up with her was probably alcohol tolerance because he was tossing back just as many drinks.
Ever the responsible friend, Reza was being mindful of the drinking situation as the night progressed. Shane could put alcohol away pretty readily and still be okay, but it seemed that Shan was definitely getting intoxicated to the point they would need to make sure she got home okay. He switched to water after a certain point to make sure he could be the DD, and didn’t feel too put out about it -- he was having a great time, and so was Shane. Reza loved to see him happy, especially in a context where he knew they were safe from overdoses.
They were getting close to last call when Shane and Reza escorted a drunk and unsteady Shan out of Dragonfly to their car. She insisted on Shane sitting in the back with her, and she snuggled up to his side, her head dropping to rest on his shoulder as she hugged his arm against her. She mumbled a few nonsense things here and there, floating along on the lovely drunken haze that had been carrying her for a while now. Everything was spinny but muted and good. It took some prodding to get her address out of her, and even then all Reza really understood was “Seaview,” so that was where he headed.
Seaview wasn't huge, but Shane didn't think driving around yelling Caden's name would be super popular, but maybe everyone was awake and partying so if he had to, he totally would! He hoped Shan would recognize her place when they got there but it felt like a very far away and non-urgent problem at the moment. Worst case scenario they'd dump her in one of the many guestrooms at their place until she sobered up enough to remember where she lived. Shane was fine with that, he was also fine with being a human pillow, pretty much fine about everything in his comfortable drunken haze. "Diego lives here somewhere," he said and at the moment it wasn't so much that he didn't know where Diego lived as he didn't know where Reza was currently driving. It was dark out and he was more watching what he could see of Reza's profile than looking out the window. Being drunk in the backseat of a car was weirdly nostalgic and he felt comfortably floaty and warm and full of love.
“In Seaview?” Reza asked unnecessarily, glancing in the rearview mirror to look at Shane. He looked boneless and happy and Reza already wanted to have him home, stripped and in bed. This was kind of nice though, helping out someone who was quickly becoming a friend. He understood that she and Shane were already friends, but Reza liked her too, and he hoped to see more of her. “Maybe we ought to introduce them.” He smirked a little, picturing the two of them dropping drunk Shan off at Diego and Oliver’s place to let them find her trailer. Reza would never do that, of course, but it was amusing to think about at the moment. He turned into the entrance to Seaview and slowed down a bit, glancing at Shane again. “Okay, wake her up, see if she can point out which one.”
Introducing Shan and Diego sounded like a fantastic idea but thankfully Shane was neither drunk enough nor still in a partying enough mood to actually go do that and Shan was absolutely not up for it tonight. He thought she really was sleeping now, the way she slumped against him, clutching his arm like a teddy bear. "Shan," he murmured and wiggled a little to stir her out of her slumber. "Babe, we're here, do you remember which place is yours? Shan?" For a few seconds she wasn't responsive and he tittered as he pictured himself standing on top of the car, shouting out over all of Seaview for Caden to come get his woman, but then she murmured something and he wiggled again and reached up to pinch her arm gently. "Shan? We're in your neighborhood."
Shan didn’t want to wake up, she wanted to just stay right where he was, snuggled against a warm body with the motion of the car lulling her deeper into sleep. She made a noise of protest at the pinching and forced her eyes open. Disoriented for a moment, she blinked and looked around, the words taking some extra time to make sense. “Wha? ... oh ... um, s’that one, down there,” she said, halfway crawling into Shane’s lap to point through the window. “With th’ truck.” There were a lot of trucks parked in front of trailers, but Shan knew what Caden’s looked like, and it was over there.
Once Shane had clarified for Reza which trailer and truck she actually meant, he pulled their car up behind said truck and parked. Twisting around to look at both of them, he gave a bemused smile at how Shan was draped all over his man. “You want help getting her to the door?” he asked.
"I got her," Shane murmured and smiled at Reza more warmly than the occasion really called for, but whatever, he was a sap for this guy. "C'mon," he added to Shan. "Let's get you home so you can curl up in what I hope is a comfortable bed." It took some dragging but he got Shan out of the car and slipped his arm around her to steady her before starting the walk up to the trailer. There was a party going on somewhere nearby, just like he'd predicted, and he was half trying to recognize the song from the beat as they walked, pulling Shan closer to his side before he knocked. There were lights on inside so he supposed Caden was home and at this point he was looking forward to getting to his own bed so he hoped this wasn't going to be a Problem.
Shan was torn between pushing Shane away because she could walk on her own, thanks very much, but also clinging to him because everything was spinning and unsteady. Clinging won out so she didn’t faceplant in the gravel, and they managed to get up the steps and to the door without her tripping both of them up. While Shane knocked on the door, Shan started to rummage around in her purse for her keys, but her fingers were super clumsy and there seemed to be so many things in the way. She was barely thinking about Caden opening the door on this and how he might react -- she just really had to pee all of the sudden and she wanted to be inside.
It had been a busy day, and night, for Caden. The bar business had remained pretty steady throughout the day and by the time he left the Porch to head home, he was feeling pretty damn tired. He wasn't too surprised when he got home and Shan wasn't there, though it did briefly cross his mind that he ought to text her to make sure she was alive. It was late and dark and he sure as hell knew what could happen in the dark. So while he opened the fridge to grab a beer with one hand, he pulled out his phone to text Shan with the other. It was when he pressed send that he heard someone knock on the front door.
Caden turned to stare at it for a moment before he set his beer down on the counter and thought about going for his gun. It was late and who the fuck would be knocking at his door right now. Everyone he cared to speak to would have called or texted first.
Still, he headed for the front door and pulled it open to see some guy holding onto his obviously intoxicated or drugged wife. Caden's jaw clenched before his gaze found the guy's face again. "Who the fuck are you?"
Shane had, over the years, gotten pretty good at defusing violent situations if he actually wanted to and those old safeguards seemed to gently slip into place the moment Caden opened the door. This guy radiated trouble, temper, anger issues, daddy issues, the whole package. Shane wanted to say something snarky, or funny just to rile him up but he was feeling mellow and he really just wanted to get Shan somewhere safe for the night instead of starting a fire in her house - metaphorically speaking, of course. "Hi," he said, the word a little drawn out like he was stoned but he was just at that sleepy and happy part of being drunk at this time. "I'm Shane and this is your wife, right?" All the hilarious things he could say seemed to pop up at this most inconvenient time but he managed to keep from laughing or grinning, keeping his smile mild. They probably weren't even that funny, they were just funny to him because he was drunk.
Shan’s head lifted from where she’d been looking in her purse, her booze-soaked brain slow to catch up to the words the men were saying to each other. But Caden was there and that made her smile, even though he looked pretty grumpy. He kind of always looked like that, but especially now. “Heyyyy,” she said, grinning and patting Shane’s flat stomach. “This’s Shane, he’s my friend. Shaden, this’s--” She’d meant to introduce them, but her tongue got all scrambled and it made her laugh. Shan realized in a dim way that maybe she should have told Caden about Shane before this situation cropped up, but oh well, too late now! Shan pulled away from her escort, reaching for Caden for support instead. He was her husband, after all, and he was standing between her and the bathroom, which was a place she really needed to get to now. “Ohmygawd, I gotta pee,” Shan mumbled.
Shane. Who the fuck was Shane? It was possible Shan had mentioned him before but Caden had no recollection of it. And had she really been living here long enough to make friends? Odd were they just met tonight. Caden didn't like the way Shan had been hanging onto Shane so he took her arm to pull her inside when she reached for him. Of course she was out getting wasted. Caden might not have cared much if she wasn't off getting drunk with some other guy, friend or not. He knew what dicks men could be. "I'm her husband," he finished for her before closing the door in Shane's face.
Shane stepped back with a slightly stunned look on his face before he laughed and turned to look over to where Reza was in the car to see if he'd seen this. Having him there made it a little more tolerable and he had a feeling that if he'd come alone he'd be pissed off right now, but he was just amused, really. Wow, Caden was an asshole. He didn't head for the car right away though, taking another step back and listening for a few seconds just in case there was going to be trouble. He wasn't going to leave Shan with some guy who might beat her to death for showing up with another guy. Shane couldn't even really have his usual non-threatening excuse of being gay because he had fucked her back in Atlantic City. He just really hoped Shan didn't think Caden needed to know that. When there was no yelling and no breaking things he slowly turned and headed to the car, slumping down in the passenger seat next to Reza. "That guy is a prick," he drawled. "His dick must be magic."
