Who: Toby and Zach
When: night, Saturday, June 16th
Where: the pier
Warning: NSFW
Status: Complete
It was Saturday and there was fun summer stuff happening at the pier, which meant date night! Zach had been super stoked whenToby had called him to let him know he was off on Saturday night and wanted to go out again. It had been difficult not to squee into the phone and hop around right then and there, but he’d managed. There was supposed to be some live music and drinks down on the pier, and it seemed like the perfect place to meander around for a while with someone really cool. The two of them had been texting quite a bit since their first date, and Zach was still feeling that giddy flutter every time his phone went off. It was new and exciting and he was eager to see Toby again.
He put on some of his good jeans and one of his favorite gamer nerd shirts, dressing it up a bit with some bracelets and rings and a cool thrifted suit jacket he loved. Zach made sure his hair looked good, grabbed his keys, and headed outside to wait for Toby to pick him up. He fidgeted and bounced on the balls of his feet a bit, all the while internally laughing at himself for being such a dork. It was just so rare to get a second date, much less with someone as fun and hot as Toby.
It had been the longest week ever, by Toby’s estimation, but he knew the wait was going to pay off. He’d wanted to see Zach earlier in the week, but with his crazy work schedule and the AIR meeting, he just hadn’t been able to make it happen. Now he was glad he’d waited—he didn’t have the stress of AIR hanging over him tonight, and he didn’t have another shift for a full twenty-four hours. It meant the night was theirs to do as they pleased, even if it meant staying up until dawn, though he doubted either of them were interested in doing that again. The last time had been fun, up until he’d realized he couldn’t sleep, even when he wanted to. There was plenty going on at the marina tonight, so that’s what Toby had planned, though he’d picked up his apartment, just in case they ended up there later.
Toby had struggled with what to wear, as always, and felt like he’d gone through half his closet before deciding on a red fitted t-shirt and black and white striped pants. It felt complete with his leather jacket and boots, a little bit of eyeliner and a dash of silvery jewelry. He probably didn’t need the jacket, but the nights could be cool. He turned down the radio as he pulled up in front of Zach’s place, grinning when he saw him already waiting for him. As soon as he came to a stop, he leaned across the seat and opened the passenger door from the inside. “Hi there,” he smiled, his eyes drifting over Zach. “You look good. Miss me?”
Zach’s heart started to race when he spotted the car slowing down, and his stomach was a riot of butterflies as Toby opened the door. God, did they even have to go anywhere? Couldn’t Zach just drag Toby upstairs to show him just how he’d been missing him? That was crazy though, and Zach knew they would have a good time out, and this was a date night, not just a hookup, so ... He moved in closer to the open car door and leaned in to look at Toby, putting a clueless look on his face to start out with. “Uh, you’re my Uber driver, right?” he asked. Zach couldn’t keep a straight face for more than a few seconds though, and he laughed as he climbed into the passenger seat. “You look good, holy hell,” he added, giving Toby a once-over himself. Zach leaned over to kiss him hello ... plus a little more, because he’d definitely been looking forward to this.
Toby laughed with Zach, then took hold of his lapel as he leaned in for the kiss. As far as hello kisses went, that was the sort that ended the date early in favor of a trip to the bedroom. Toby struggled to show some form of restraint, despite feeling like he was old enough to do so. Zach made him feel like a horny teenager, ready for a fuck as soon as Zach said the word. And yet, the adult side of him really wanted the date to happen. Anticipation was the better part of… valor? No, that was discretion, something Toby struggled with, as well as quotes. “It’ll be better if we wait,” he murmured against Zach’s lips, a sly smile slipping into place. “But damn, baby, you make it hard.” He snickered softly and released Zach, allowing him to take his place in the passenger seat.
It was unspeakably delightful, the way Toby seemed to be on the same horny page as Zach was. It was kind of a relief too, as there was a part of him that was anxious about Toby changing his mind. Not in an asshole ‘already got what he wanted’ way, more in a ‘came to his senses’ way. But the attraction and chemistry were definitely still crackling between them, so that anxiety was already relaxing a little. “Making things hard is kinda my speciality,” he teased, settling in and clicking his seatbelt into place. He could already tell this was going to be an entertaining evening, even if the music sucked and the marina was boring. “So how’s it going? How was your week?” They’d texted a bit, so he knew the general gist -- mostly work -- but there was something different about asking in person.
Toby had had a week to think about Zach, about what he was and how he felt about it, and he just kept on thinking it didn’t fucking matter. He liked him, was definitely attracted to him, and hadn’t found the difference in his anatomy a turn off. He was different, sure, but still super hot, and he couldn’t find a logical reason not to pursue someone he really liked, especially when the sex had been so hot the first time. Plus, he got a good feeling from Zach and Toby had a hard time not following his gut. “Gonna have to demonstrate later,” Toby snickered as Zach buckled up. “The week was good. Pretty normal, once we could sleep again. Hung out with Shane a bit, enjoyed his pool. But nothing exciting, which is great. I like this kind of excitement, not the kind that comes with work. What about you?”
Zach knew better than most that attraction wasn’t always logical, so it was reassuring to see and feel that Toby hadn’t gotten grossed out after the fact or anything. Now he could relax and really enjoy being on a date with someone who obviously liked him, and vice versa. “Ugh, what the fuck was up with that insomnia, right? I didn’t sleep until like, the next day, and neither could my brother. Fucked up.” Fucked up was kind of the norm in Point Pleasant though, and nobody he knew had actually gotten hurt, so it was easy to let it roll off of his back. “But yeah, it was an all right week, just working here and there, had a competition on Wednesday night. I took second, so that was pretty cool. Other than that, just ... hanging out, jerking off, the usual.” Zach flashed him a grin. “Looking forward to this.”
“It was everywhere,” Toby said, gesturing wildly with one hand to emphasize his point. His other stayed on the steering wheel, directing them towards the pier. “The hospital was a wreck. The staff could barely help the patients. It’s not the kind of thing people die from, but I was literally seeing things by the end of it. It was insane.” And now it was just some weird event to laugh about. They’d seen worse in Point Pleasant, even in the last year. A lack of sleep was nothing by comparison, as maddening as it had been at the time. Toby snickered at the mention of jerking off, something he’d done plenty of while thinking about Zach. “What kind of competition was it?” He knew Zach was into gaming, but there was still a lot he didn’t know. “Was there some kind of prize? Or just bragging rights?”
“Oh damn,” Zach murmured as Toby described how bad the hospital was. That was an angle he hadn’t even thought about, but it sounded hellish. He had felt plenty shitty, he couldn’t imagine trying to do an important job while feeling like that. He found himself grateful that Toby had made it through without a major incident. At least it all seemed to be over, that was something. He was happy enough with the subject change, he didn’t want anything to be a bummer tonight. “Uh, it was a qualifying round for a Call of Duty tourney that’s happening next week,” he said. It was usually mildly embarrassing to explain to people that he made some money from gaming, but it was better than explaining where most of his real money came from. Plus, Toby was cool, so whatever. “Which I’m gonna be in, obviously. That one’s got a cash prize, about five grand. So keep your fingers crossed for me.”
“Oh damn, I suck at Call of Duty. The guys that play that are hardcore. You would so kick my ass,” Toby laughed. He’d still play with Zach, if he ever wanted him to, but it would probably be a joke. He wasn’t sure he wanted to embarrass himself at that level yet. “That’s awesome that you qualified though. Is there, like, a way to watch you play in the tournament? Will you stream it?” He had no idea if he could swing it with his sometimes weird working hours, but he’d love to watch Zach in his element. He just didn’t know when it was, or how long it would take. Did they play for hours or minutes? He’d never thought of the logistics in organizing something like that and it suddenly seemed a lot more complicated than he’d expected.
Zach was pretty smug about his skills, so even if Toby had been a decent CoD player, he still probably could’ve kicked his ass. It was okay, he didn’t hold it against people. Most of them had much more of a life than he did, after all. The questions sent a rush of giddiness through him and he grinned over at Toby. “Yeah, uh, I’ll be on Twitch the whole time,” he answered, trying not to squirm with pure happiness. Jai was supportive and all that, but he tended to cheer him on from a distance, while he was doing something else -- which was fine, Zach knew watching matches was boring for a lot of people who weren’t actually playing. “You’d really wanna watch me play?” he asked, his tone a little shy around the edges.
“‘Course,” Toby smiled over at him. “So long as I’m not working. I might not be able to keep up, but I’d like to try.” He wanted to support Zach and be able to talk to him about the tournament afterwards. That would be so much easier if he actually watched it. Maybe not all of it, but at least the parts that Zach played in. “It’s actually really cool. There’s not a lot of people who can figure out how to make a living playing video games. Or doing anything they love.” Toby liked his job, but it was still a job, especially when things got crazy in Point Pleasant. There were so many times that he’d rather hide and wait for the insanity to pass, but he couldn’t do that when people needed him. He thought it was good for him though. It prevented him from being a coward.
Gaming wasn’t the only way Zach made money of course -- the cam work was a much more steady source of income. He still wasn’t sure when he ought to reveal that part of his life to Toby, but it seemed like the start of the second date was a bit too soon. Toby had been really cool about him being trans, but also being a sex worker might be harder to swallow. Zach didn’t know yet if he was the jealous type. He would tell him soon though, he promised himself. Especially if things kept feeling like they did. “Yeah, I’m pretty fucking lucky,” Zach answered with a low chuckle. “And I know it’s probably not like, a long term career, so I’m trying not to blow all the money and actually build a savings. Not sure what I’ll do later in life, but ...” He shrugged. “What do you like about being a nurse? Seems like it would be hard as fuck to me.”
“Yeah, I’d think you have to be pretty adaptable. I’d think you’d want to keep your followers, but also need to keep up with what’s current and whatnot.” Toby hadn’t thought about it in too much depth, but now that he was, he wondered how sustainable it was. At some point, Zach might need to change games, or upgrade systems, and that could result in a loss of subscribers. Or maybe a new version of the game would come out and he could keep going with that. If people weren’t tuning in for a specific game, then they were there to watch Zach, which meant he had to be entertaining on some level. Toby liked him, but that seemed hard to him. A lot harder than being a nurse. “I like to help people, but I also like that it's never exactly the same because every person’s different. It’s interesting, it’s rewarding, and it pays well. And for some bizarre reason, I’m actually good at it, which is some kind of a miracle.” It didn’t surprise him that he could connect with people, especially with his skills, but he’d have never bet money that he’d be good at science of any kind, yet there he was.
There were countless ways to go about building an entertainment brand in the game industry, and Zach had done as much study of the subject as he could. He was out as trans to his Twitch community, and sometimes he felt lucky to be trans, as it gave him more appeal to those gamers who wanted to avoid the phobic cesspools that so often dominated the gaming circles. Zach didn’t tolerate any phobic or racist bullshit from his followers, and he was liberal with the ban hammer. None of those ins and outs of such a niche community were terribly interesting to talk about to other people though. He focused on Toby’s answer, smiling a little. “Why do you say that’s bizarre?” he asked, curious and a little amused. “I mean, maybe I’m biased already, but you’re smart and kind and hardworking, so ... seems like good nurse-y qualities to me. Do you see a bunch of gross stuff all the time though? I think I couldn’t handle that part, I’d end up like, puking in somebody’s open wound.” He tittered a bit.
“I guess I just never realized I was decent at science until I crossed Broadway darling off my list of potential job prospects,” Toby grinned. He’d never focused on science in high school, always preferring the arts over every core class except literature. Realistically, he knew he wasn’t going to pursue a career in acting, but he hadn’t imagined himself a nurse until he’d been forced to declare a major college. “I sometimes work shifts in the ER, so there’s always the potential for gross stuff, it’s a lot easier to handle when you know what to do about it. When someone’s suffering, it’s like my own needs get pushed aside and I focus on them. The only time I’ve thrown up was due to a dead body, not a live one, and that was one hundred percent the smell. I could never be one of those medical examiners that shows up at a crime scene. I’d vomit all over everything and destroy the evidence.”
The first part made Zach grin -- he could see Toby being a Broadway darling just as easily as he could picture him as a nurse. If he was being honest, he was selfishly glad that that career path hadn’t panned out, and Toby was still here. Not that he was going to tell him that yet. The rest of what Toby said was a rollercoaster between ‘aw’ and ‘ew,’ and it made Zach start giggling again. God, he probably sounded like an idiot, but it was hard not to feel totally giddy at the moment, even talking about corpse stink. “That’s great though, that selfless thing you’ve got going on,” Zach told him with genuine admiration, looking over at Toby’s profile as he drove. He was finding more and more to like about him every second they were together, it seemed like. “I dunno if I could do all that. So like, the hospital’s lucky to have you. I bet you guys stay busy as hell, too.”
Though a part of Toby knew that Zach was right, Toby still had a hard time accepting the compliment. It didn’t feel selfless; it felt like work, even if the work benefited other people. And what he didn’t tell him was how he felt like it was making up for the people who’d died in the fire, however many that might be. Not that life was a scoreboard; he couldn’t save lives to make up for ones taken. The fire hadn’t been his fault, but he sometimes wondered if there might have been a way to prevent the deaths. Except now they were back again, trying to bring down AIR again, and all he could think was that he wanted them gone, even if it took Shane setting the building on fire again. “I’m lucky to have them,” Toby smiled, trying to focus on the conversation and not his run away mind. “There’s always something going on. It’ll be quiet for a few days, maybe even a few weeks, and then all hell breaks loose. Luckily, things have been pretty quiet lately.”
Things had been quiet all over for a few months now, as far as Zach knew. He wasn’t terribly involved in many of the weird things that happened in Point Pleasant, but he’d grown up here, so he knew that inexplicable shit could happen. He was sure that inexplicable shit often resulted in hospital visits for people. It made him want to ask more questions, like what was the weirdest thing Toby had ever seen, but he wanted to keep the mood light, and they were almost to the marina now. And maybe part of him kind of didn’t want to know. “Yeah, we just gotta enjoy that while it lasts,” Zach chuckled. He sure as hell wasn’t going to complain about anything that gave Toby more time to hang out and enjoy himself. “Have you talked to Addie lately? I keep meaning to call and let her know that she like, accidentally set us up.”
“No, I keep meaning to, but I don’t see her near as much now that I’m not taking care of her father. I don’t know if she really gets credit for setting us up, but it’d still be fun to tease her about it,” Toby grinned. He’d meant to catch up with Addie and Silas, but his life had gotten a bit more busy lately and he just hadn’t managed his time well. It was a common problem for Toby—he got caught up in life, in a few big events, and some of the little things fell by the wayside. Between work, and AIR, and Zach, he’d let some things drop. It was a good reminder that he should give Addie a call. And probably Adrian as well. He kept thinking he might show up one day at work and see Adrian there again. It would be a bit of a trip, but a good one.
Addie obviously hadn’t had any intentions for them, they’d only met very briefly at her place by accident, but Zach thought she would be delighted by what was unfolding between them, so he really ought to give her a call. He felt a little extra guilty when Toby said he hadn’t talked to her either, but it passed pretty easily. “Oh yeah, wow, her dad got kinda better, huh? Another reason I need to call her,” Zach said with a cluck of his tongue. She would understand -- Addie was a super sweet, low maintenance friend. “Were you ever into Silas?” he asked, grinning a bit as he looked over at Toby again. “Since you were around the house more. I don’t know him that well. He’s gorgeous, but in like, that way where you’d expect him to be British? Totally not my type.”
“No,” Toby grinned. “Silas was, like, my arch rival in high school. We were too busy competing for the stage and everyone else’s attention to even be friends. Which was stupid. We could have totally run our little corner of the school if we weren’t being such petty bitches.” It was such shame too, because there weren’t a lot of queer teens at their school at the time and it would’ve benefitted them to band together. Toby realized this now, but the logic hadn’t been there back then. “We’re kinda friends now. It’s a new thing. He’s hot, but I think we’re too much alike to ever work.” It’d be all drama, all the time. Fun to watch, but super combustible. “Now I’m amused that he’s not your type, but I am.”
Toby and Silas being high school rivals was even more delightful to imagine than either of them having crushes on each other, and Zach tittered his amusement. “Oh, drama queers,” he said fondly, grinning as he let his head fall back against the seat. He was younger than all of them, so he’d missed being in school with them, but he wasn’t even sure they would’ve been friends back then. It was funny how people changed as they grew up. “You're more like ... down-to-earth dramatic, if that makes any sense?” Zach tried to explain, amused. He wrinkled his nose up a bit. “I dunno, maybe I just don’t know Silas that well, but I get this sense that he’s got a mean girl streak, and that never sits well with me. In like, people I want to date, I mean. It can be fun to hang out with, but ... Maybe I just grew up too poor, and I’m projecting since they have money, but he seems a little snobby. Plus a lot of gay guys don’t accept people like me as men, you know?” He shrugged.
Toby was positive Silas had a mean girl streak, but he wasn’t as sure if it was in general or had just been directed at him back in the day. It wasn’t something he held against him, and it also seemed to have passed the way that high school rivalries did. “Well, he’s definitely more of a priss than I am,” Toby smiled, thinking of how smart Silas was usually dressed, how his hair was often done to perfection. Toby was pretty sure he fell more into the hot mess category himself. “I hope he’s not one of those guys though. I often feel like we’ve got enough up against us in this world that we should band together, accept people for who they are and not what you want them to be. You don’t get to make those kinds of decisions for someone else, you know?” He was sure he was preaching to the choir here, but it was an easy tangent to wander down.
‘Priss’ was a good word for it, and it made Zach titter again. Toby definitely didn’t seem like a priss, with his wild clothes and hair and the smudgy eyeliner that Zach found so fucking sexy. It was his whole friendly-chaos demeanor more than what he looked like -- though that didn’t hurt, of course. What Toby said made Zach’s chest feel too full all of the sudden, with gratitude and appreciation and all kinds of shit. On impulse, he undid his seatbelt to lean over the center console and plant a kiss against Toby’s cheek. Zach didn’t want to mess up his driving, but he just couldn’t help himself. “You’re so hot when you’re shooting down transphobia,” he murmured near Toby’s ear, then gave it a little nibble for good measure. “And damn, you smell good.” Grinning, he sat back again.
Toby would’ve liked being thought of as friendly-chaos. It made his messy life and style sound like something cultivated, a positive vibe that he’d purposefully manifested when it was really just who and how he was. He couldn’t change it if he wanted to, and he was thankful that Zach was into it and him. He grinned as Zach planted a kiss on his cheek, a swarm of bees feeling like they’d taken over inside his chest, buzzing around excitedly. Then there were Zach’s teeth on his ear and his whole body felt warm, along with a twitching between his legs that wanted so much more of where that was going. Toby licked his lips as he swung the car into a parking place, glad he could finally put the car in park and put his focus on Zach. “I taste good, too,” he grinned, finally able to lean in and kiss Zach again without the distractions of the road.
Zach leaned in to meet him, having to force himself to stop smiling to make it a proper kiss, at least for the first second or two. After that it felt like his whole body flushed with a hotter kind of happy, tingly lust, and he already wanted to just crawl over into Toby’s lap and make out for the rest of the night. They were in a public parking lot, and a pretty busy one because of all the festivities, but that was hard to remember with Toby’s mouth on his. Zach’s hand curled in the front of Toby’s shirt, and he hummed into the kiss, lingering in it for a few moments. “Mmmm, you sure do,” he murmured finally, pulling back just enough to give Toby a dreamy smile. Maybe he was being too enthusiastic for a second date, totally not playing it cool at all, but that was just who he was. If it ended up biting him later, then so be it, because it felt damn good right then.
Toby was ready to turn the car right around, drive them back to his apartment, and spend the night in bed together, but that wasn’t a proper date. There would be plenty of time for that later, after they hung out at the marina for a bit, and he knew the evening would be all the better for it. But damn did he want to give in. And it felt like he wasn’t the only one, which was a huge relief. Toby knew this wouldn’t be near as exciting if it felt even the slightest bit one sided, but Zach felt as all in as he was. He nipped at Zach’s lower lip, scraping it with his teeth, hovering close even when the kiss was over. “Let’s… Let’s check this thing out for a bit,” he murmured, unable to help himself from kissing Zach again. “I promised you a date. First one’s hard to top, but I wanna give it a try.”
He felt like he was already addicted to kissing Toby, and god did that lip nibble make his cock throb. Zach could hear a bit of reluctance in Toby’s tone, like maybe he didn’t really want to go check it out, which was such a weird thing to feel excited about, but he did anyway. It was pretty novel to have someone in real life who was this into him, instead of just online. Zach grinned briefly against Toby’s lips and nodded. “We can go see what’s up,” he said, a teasing lilt to his tone. “Grab a drink, see if the band sucks. Then we can do whatever.” He was pretty sure he knew what ‘whatever’ would turn out to be, and Zach was already looking forward to it. He stole one more little kiss and then made himself pull away and reach behind him to open the car door.
It wasn’t very often that Toby meshed this well with another person. Usually he could feel things that brought up his walls, or lies that caused him to shut the other person out completely. Zach felt so completely sincere that it put Toby at ease, making it even easier to be himself and tamp down on his abilities. They fell so easily on the same page that it was thrilling and he couldn’t wait to see where it took them. He smiled as Zach kissed him, then followed suit and climbed from the car, eager to see what their little town had come up with this weekend. Toby knew that most of the festivities were very small town, the sort of thing that tourists just loved, but he enjoyed them as well. “What kind of music do you like?” he asked as he fell in step beside Zach.
Being outside the car in the fresh air with other people not too far away made him feel more like he could behave himself, at least for a while. This whole thing was just so new and exciting, and he’d never been great at pacing himself when it came to stuff that made him feel good. “Oh man, all kinds of stuff,” he answered with a laugh as they headed toward the marina. He slipped his hand into Toby’s and marveled a little to himself at how natural it felt. “Oldies rock -- not like, hair metal or anything, but the old seventies Pink Floyd and Rolling Stones type stuff -- and punk and some of the nineties industrial bands ... but at the same time, like, blues rock and bluegrass if I feel mellow. Just depends on my mood, I guess. What about you?”
Toby never knew how other people felt about public displays of affection, so it was nice to have Zach take the initiative and take his hand. If it weren’t for fear of violating other people’s personal space, he’d probably always be touching the people he liked, and it was especially hard to keep his hands off of Zach. “Pretty much everything,” Toby answered with a grin. “My mom raised me on music from the seventies, eighties, and nineties. I lean hard into alt-rock, but I also like pop, and pretty much anything you can dance to. My tastes are all over the place. I think the only thing I’m not into is country, and I’m sure there’s a few songs here and there that I still like.”
Zach clucked his tongue. “See? I didn’t even think about dance music, which I also love,” he said with a laugh. “My taste is just all over the place. I’m with you on country for the most part, but I will still throw down with some old Johnny Cash and like, Willie Nelson and stuff. But that mainstream arena country shit, hard pass.” With a lot of people he dated, he got shy about holding their hands or anything more out in public, like people might see the big neon “TRANS” sign above his head that he sometimes imagined was there, and make it into a problem. But he felt comfortable with Toby, like Toby wouldn’t care even if that was actually a real thing that was happening. He already felt like Toby would back him up if someone did try to make it a problem. It made Zach feel safe with him, and that meant a lot.
“I feel like Johnny Cash rose above being country. I’m not even sure he was the best singer, but something about his songs just resonates with people, you know?” Toby smiled as he led them towards the event at the pier. His worries were often similar to Zach’s, though it was more about being gay than being trans. There were some people who were never going to be accepting of them, but he’d found that they mostly kept it to themselves. Sometimes he could sense who would be more likely to shove past them, or drop a slur, and he would steer away from them. Luckily, most in Point Pleasant seemed to be quietly judgmental, rather than outwardly, though he’d really prefer they not do it at all. “So, what’re you thinking? Should we get food? Drinks? Anything sound good to you?”
“Drinks!” Zach decided immediately, and then laughed. “Just not hungry yet, for once.” It was more that his stomach was full of happy butterflies at the moment and he didn’t want to fill it up with other stuff just yet. He wanted to drink first and enjoy being tipsy. He could hear some music playing on the other side of the marina, and so he pulled Toby in that direction, sure they would pass a beer stall or five before they got there. He wasn’t wrong, and Zach got in line at the first one they came to. A few minutes and a few bucks later, they both had beer in their hands and were wandering closer to where the little music stage was. “So are you out to like, your family and stuff?” Zach asked, glancing over at Toby again. “Are you guys close?”
“Oh yeah, I’ve been out to my mom since I was in high school. It was, like, the worst kept secret of all time. I think she probably knew before I did,” Toby grinned. “And my sister knows too, of course. It’s really just the three of us. We’re not super close, but I talk to ‘em both on a regular basis. My mom more than my sister. We get together for holidays and stuff, and I try to have dinner with my mom at least once or twice a month.” He supposed that made them sound super close, but there was a good deal his mother didn’t know about his life and he liked it that way. If she knew even a fraction of what he’d gone through, she would worry even more than she already did about him. He felt like she’d gone through enough when he was a kid. She didn’t need to worry about him now as an adult. “What about you? I’ve heard you mention your brother before.”
They sounded like a normal-close family to Zach. His own was kind of a mess, but that was true for a lot of people, he supposed. They just weren’t usually magical messes. “My half brother, yeah,” Zach corrected before taking a swallow from his beer. He and Jai were definitely Close, but it made him a little nervous to think about that when he was with Toby. Maybe he shouldn’t have asked about families. “I live with him, he’s my only sibling and vice versa. So we’re pretty close. We have different moms, but mine’s not really in the picture anymore. We see our dad and Jai’s mom sometimes ... but I dunno, I wouldn’t say I’m really close to them. I came out to them when I was like fifteen, there was no hiding it. It was kind of a rough time for a while. I think they get it now and they don’t hassle me, but there’s still like ... distance, you know? But Jai’s always been cool about it.”
There was an itch in the back of Toby’s brain as he listened, a feeling that there was more to the story than what Zach was putting out there. Toby found it curious, but didn’t push at it, aware that families had complicated dynamics, often layers upon layers of feelings and expectations that were difficult to unravel. He didn’t expect for Zach to lay it all out there all in one go. Maybe Toby would understand better over time, as Zach felt the need to reveal it to him. That was what he hoped for, so he did his best not to let his abilities pry more from him than openly offered. “Sometimes I think I’m lucky that it’s just my mom and my sister. The more family you have, the more people you want validation from, and sometimes it’s just hard, you know? I’m glad Jai’s been cool about it. The more support you have, the better.”
“Yeah,” Zach agreed with a soft half-laugh. “Especially when your mom is like ... crazy and thinks you’re possessed by demons and stuff.” He rolled his eyes like it was just a small annoyance, like his mother’s delusions and institutionalization hadn’t been formative trauma for him at a young age. “You need other family. But our dad took me in, and Jai’s always been awesome to me, so I’m pretty lucky.” Zach wasn’t upset talking about any of it, at least not on this surface level. There were so many secrets in their family -- his mom’s mental illness, the magical bond she’d forced on him and Jai, how it had intertwined their lives and eventually their bodies ... all things that Zach wanted to keep close to the chest for now. Probably forever, since he doubted Toby wanted to date a guy who was also fucking his half brother. Best not to think about it. “So if you were a theater kid, what’s your favorite play? Or musical? I dunno, I’m clueless about both,” he laughed.
“Did she?” Toby laughed, but then immediately dropped it, able to feel the truth behind Zach’s comment a moment later, even if it’d been disguised as a joke. He wanted to ask, to pry into those secrets, but only because he had a box of his own, so freshly opened. Toby felt like he was sorting through them regularly these days, reliving the past as a result of the present, and it made it harder to keep it from Zach. But he also knew how crazy he sounded, and how quickly trust could fade away when someone thought he could read their mind. As much as he wanted to plead that it wasn’t like that, on some level he knew it was. He knew things he shouldn’t more often than not. “Oh god, narrowing it down to one is impossible,” he grinned. “If it’s a play, I tend to enjoy the comedies. All of Shakespeare’s comedies are fun, in large part because they’re different every time. I was in ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’ in high school and loved it. Musicals, there’s like, the older ones like RENT that I know every word to, but is definitely dated, but the themes are so great, and then there’s Book of Mormon that just has me falling over laughing, and Hamilton, which is just fantastic and everyone should see it, and Kinky Boots! I feel like that has to be on the list.”
Zach didn’t know all of those names, but he was proud that he knew some! He was also happy that Toby just rolled with the subject change and didn’t press him more about his family. His questions hadn’t been pushy in the slightest, it was all just a touchy subject for Zach. it was much more fun to see Toby’s enthusiasm as he talked about what he loved. “Oh man, I’ve like ... heard of a few of those, but never actually seen any of them,” Zach admitted with a grin. “We need to have a little watch party or something. Isn’t Hamilton like, all rap? So cool. Kinky Boots sounds fun, what’s that one about?” They were getting close to where the music stage was, so the ambient noise around them was getting louder, and the crowd a bit more lively. It was nice to be out in public with a date -- a hot date, damn -- and feel totally comfortable and right doing it. He already wanted to do more of this.
“So, I haven’t actually seen Hamilton. That would require a trip to New York City and it’s constantly sold out. But I know all the music and Lin-Manuel Miranda is just amazing. You might enjoy just listening to it. At least, I do, but I know I can be weird. Kinky Boots is about a guy who inherits a shoe factory from his father and how he teams up with a drag queen to produce high-heeled boots to save the business. The music’s by Cyndi Lauper and it’s just so much fun!” Toby stopped to take a breath and suddenly realized how bad he was rambling on about something his date probably knew next to nothing about. And he couldn’t even properly share it with him because most of them were plays he hadn’t even seen himself. He’d just heard the music. “We could watch RENT though. It came out in the late nineties and had a big enough following that it got a movie. Only if you wanted to, though. I can be a little pushy, but you can tell me no.”
Even though Zach was clueless about that kind of stuff, it was delightful to watch Toby talk about it. It was always fun to him to see someone get enthusiastic about one of their passions, and Toby was a very animated talker, so being ignorant about musicals didn’t bother Zach in the slightest. He got the same way about video games. So he was grinning the whole time Toby talked, a quick little fantasy of whisking him off to NYC to see Hamilton on Broadway flashing through his head. If only he had the kind of cash to make that happen on a whim. Maybe someday. Was it bad that this was only their second date and he already wanted to treat Toby? Maybe. But whatever, it was just fun to think about. He laughed at the last part and gave Toby a wicked little smile. “There’s not much I would say no to, for you,” he said, giving his hand a squeeze. “Introduce me to whatever you want, I’m putty in your hands.”
“That’s a horrible amount of freedom,” Toby chuckled, giving Zach’s hand a squeeze. “If I took advantage of it, I’m scared I’d load you up with showtunes, end up scaring you off. I don’t want that.” But the fact that Zach even took an interest was endearing. So many guys rolled their eyes at him, the queer theater kid who was just a little too eccentric for his own good. He couldn’t seem to be just kind of into something. Most of Toby’s interests seemed to be full on immersion, knowing everything he could, at least at that time. He realized that sometimes he moved on and couldn’t keep up with past interests, but that happened to a lot of people. “Have you ever seen a play? Or a musical? Not on film, but in person.”
Zach could definitely relate to hyper-interest that faded away when something new came along. There weren’t a ton of things that got their hooks in him permanently -- though that seemed more true for him when it came to hobbies and interests, not people. Maybe it came from feeling alienated for most of his life, but he clung to people. He hoped that didn’t scare Toby off, as something much more annoying than just being inundated with showtunes. “I’m hard to scare,” he said with a broad smile, then sipped his beer as he nodded. “Not many and never like, pro productions or anything ... but a few plays back in school, I had friends in them. High schoolers doing Shakespeare, that kind of stuff. Then they did Fiddler On The Roof my senior year ... that’s pretty much my limited, lame-ass experience.” Zach wrinkled his nose and laughed a bit. “I’d love to go see something good sometime, though. Just to say I’ve done it.”
“I’ll have to see if they’re doing any shows this summer in Bangor. They don’t have a huge variety, but they get more than we do,” Toby smiled. It would be fun to get out of town with Zach, maybe make it a day trip, or even a night trip if they wanted to splurge and get a hotel room for the night. It wasn’t as exciting as hopping down to New York City, but it would be a lot cheaper and probably more likely to happen. Toby was certain anything would be fun with Zach. He just had one of those personalities that Toby wanted to drench himself in. There weren’t a lot of people in Toby’s life that he wanted nonstop, and even fewer that wanted him in the same way, so it was as exciting as it was scary.
They had plenty of time to bask in each other as the evening went on. The band turned out to be pretty good, and they even had some bouncier songs to dance to. Zach did so with happy abandon with Toby until they got thirsty and needed more beer. He felt loose and warm and like he was probably laughing too much, but the high he was riding made being self-conscious nearly impossible. It all felt so damn good, and it was all due to the company. By the time the crowd started to thin out, Zach was a little drunk in the most pleasant way, and he couldn’t seem to stop touching Toby. “So ... what now?” he asked as they tossed their trash, slipping his arm around his date. He was kind of smirky as he said it, unable to help himself.
It was the kind of night that Toby craved, one that made their small town feel open, exciting, and accepting. If anyone batted an eye at him and Zach together, he wasn’t aware of it, the negativity kept to themselves. Maybe it was because of the good vibes that he and Zach were practically glowing with. Even though the music had stopped, Toby continued to dance a little as they walked, the music still pumping in his head. He returned the hold on Zach, wrapping his arm around his waist, and enjoyed the chance to be close, his own lips turning up in a playful smile. “I was thinking maybe we could go back to my place? For a nightcap?” And hopefully a lot more, but he didn’t think that needed to be said out loud.
It didn’t, but even the unspoken filled Zach up with tingly anticipation. “A nightcap sounds fantastic,” Zach said, grinning up at him as they walked. It had already been one of the best nights he’d had in forever, and it seemed like it was only going to get better. He wondered suddenly if Toby would want him to stay the whole night, if he should’ve packed a small bag, if he should text Jai. That was probably getting ahead of himself, but it was exciting to even have those thoughts cross his mind. “And I get to see your place,” Zach added, stoked about that part too. He was incredibly curious what Toby’s apartment was like, especially since he didn’t have any roommates.
Toby was already half dancing as he walked, so Zach’s answer made him add a small bounce to his step. He felt like a giddy teenager, jumping at the chance to have a bit of alone time with his boy. Except he was an adult, so there was no need to sneak around, or find a place to park, or hide that they were together. He got to take Zach back to his place and show him around, a tour that would definitely be ending in the bedroom. “You do,” Toby grinned. “It’s just an apartment, but I think it’s nice. I need to get a house, but sometimes having a house by myself sounds like a lot of work. I like nature, but I hate mowing grass. The most I could maintain would be a little garden, and I’m still pretty sure it’d all die. And I don’t know a thing about fixing sinks and toilets and all those other things they take care of for you in an apartment. So, you know, I hope you like it.”
It was so fun to be with someone who was as bouncy as he was. Jai balanced Zach out with his laid back coolness, but feeding off of someone’s energy that was as high as his was delightful. It reminded him of hanging out with Addie, but with a bunch of sexiness all tangled up with it too. “Yeah, an apartment’s all we’ve got too, I love the maintenance part, but like ... I dunno, I think it would be fun and butch to mow the grass shirtless,” he said with a laugh. That would probably only be entertaining the first few times, but whatever, Zach liked his mental image of the sun on his skin while he sweated and pushed around a mower. He almost said that when he and Toby got a house together, he would take care of the outside work, but that was an insane thing to say at this point, so Zach bit it back. “But I’m sure I will. It’s where you are and I like you, so.” He flashed Toby a grin.
“If I ever get a house, you’re welcome to be my lawn boy,” Toby smirked, unable to help the lewd turn to his thoughts. “Or my pool boy. I should have a pool. Or maybe just a hot tub. I can tempt you with fresh lemonade and lure you into the shade and have my way with you when you’re all hot and sweaty.” He was laughing now because it was clear he couldn’t care less if Zach actually cut his non-existent grass. He just liked the appeal of a sweaty man to tempt away from hard labor. He shook his head at himself, realizing how ridiculous he sounded. “No, I like you too, so you should be my guest. I’m sure I can find other ways to get you hot and sweaty without putting you to work,” he grinned back at Zach. Maybe he should rein it in a little, but where was the fun in that?
Zach made intrigued noises about being Toby’s lawn-slash-pool-slash-hot-tub boy, grinning as they strolled into the parking lot and headed toward Toby’s car. He was glad he wasn’t driving tonight, he wasn’t sure he would be able to focus that much. It was going to take real work to keep his hands off of Toby on the drive back to his place. “I’m always hot, and I’ll sweat for you anytime,” Zach assured him, giving an exaggerated wink. “Outside, inside ... hot tub, wherever you want.” What needed to be reined in? Not a damn thing, in his opinion. All of this felt too good. Once they reached their ride, Zach reached for the passenger door. He was tempted again to pull his phone out to text Jai that he wouldn’t be home, but he put it off for the moment.
How was it that the butterflies in his stomach never seemed to stop around Zach? They were a constant, making Toby feel bubbly and light, so good he just might float away. He’d been high a number of times in his life, but not like this, feeding off another's energy. He’d think he was some kind of psychic vampire, except that Zach seemed to do the same, just as hyped up as he was. It was exhilarating to have someone who fed off him, rather than be wiped out by his energy. “Gonna have to take you up on that,” he grinned, giving Zach’s hand a little squeeze before he swung him around, pinning him against the side of his car. The plan was to get him home before letting things get wild, but he couldn’t resist at least one steamy kiss before hopping in.
Zach’s stomach jumped and tumbled as Toby spun him around. The hardness of the car at his back contrasted so deliciously with the warm give of Toby’s body, Zach felt blood rush into his groin immediately. Hands on Toby’s sides, Zach kissed him back with abandon, giving a faint whine in the back of his throat. He felt sure that someday this man was going to give him a heart attack from all the excitement and joy and lust he inspired, holy shit. His cock pushed against his underwear and it was all Zach could do not to start humping him right there. Maybe all the beer had something to do with it, but Zach was sure it was mostly their chemistry. He left it to Toby to break the kiss and when he finally did, Zach gazed at him with eyes that looked positively stoned. “You’re so hot,” he murmured without thinking, his tone full of admiration.
Toby never knew what to do with praise. He felt like acknowledging it, or saying thanks, meant he was agreeing with it, and that seemed prideful. But it also wasn’t polite to deny it or argue about it. He had a tendency to want to return it, but that never seemed as sincere, even if in this case it was totally true. Zach was so hot that Toby felt compelled to kiss him silly against the side of the car, where he’d have been perfectly happy to grind against him until he got him off. But he was also old enough to know better and not that drunk. “You make it hard to think sometimes,” he murmured, kissing Zach again, this time lightly. “All I wanna do is get you home, but then… I get distracted.”
Toby would have to learn how to handle it fast, because Zach just brimmed over with compliments for the people he adored, and Toby was quickly rising in those ranks. He never expected them back, really, he just loved to tell his people how he felt about them. Not that he was at all opposed to receiving compliments back -- it made him feel all fluttery inside to hear that he drove Toby to distraction. Zach returned the little kiss and tittered, his hands sliding from Toby’s hips around to his ass to give it a squeeze. “Focus, babe,” he murmured back, smirking as he nipped gently at Toby’s bottom lip. “Get me home, I’ll make it worth your while.”
Toby groaned and dropped his head to give Zach a little kiss on his jaw, smiling through it. “Good on you for keeping me in line,” he smiled, then pulled back so that he could open Zach’s door for him. If he wanted more, and he definitely did, they needed to make it out of the parking lot. Toby hurried around to his side of the car and started it up, buckling up before he pulled out of the parking lot. He’d had a bit to drink, so he was being extra careful, though not enough that he felt too impaired to drive. Maybe he’d have another drink when he got home, just to give him more of a buzz, but he suspected Zach would distract him before he ever got that far.
The door opening was a nice touch, and Zach tittered as he climbed inside and got settled. He knew they both had had some alcohol and he very much wanted to actually make it to Toby’s place, so he kept his hands to himself on the journey home. It felt like an accomplishment, considering how badly he wanted to be groping the driver, but Zach tried to distract them both with some more idle chit chat. At long last they were parked and out of the car again at Haven Park, and Zach slipped his arm around Toby’s waist again as they headed for his apartment door.
As much as Toby wanted Zach’s hands on him, he appreciated not having the distraction on the drive home. It ensured they got there safe and sound, and could leave the car behind to move the party on into the apartment. He grinned as Zach slid his arm around his waist and tried not to rush them, eager to get inside where they could finally be alone. “It’s really nothing special,” he warned Zach as he turned the key on his apartment and opened the door. He didn’t even have to flick on a light, as he’d left a lamp on, casting a warm glow all over everything. It was clean, but somewhat cluttered, capturing the sort of structured mess that was Toby’s own personal style. “Do you want a tour?” he smiled.
It was going to be special to Zach, because Toby lived there, but that was too sappy to say so he just smiled back as Toby opened the door. The place immediately had a comfortable vibe, and it was probably his imagination, but Zach thought he could feel the Toby-ness of it already. He toed out of his shoes at the door, a habit from their own apartment, and grinned back at his host. “Duh, of course I do,” he said. It would surely be short and sweet, considering the size of the place, but that didn’t bother Zach at all. The giant mansion had been fun to run around in, but this type of place was much cozier and more his speed.
Toby smiled and proceeded to pull Zach around the apartment, highlighting the primary areas and sprinkling the tour with little anecdotes and kisses. There was the living room, where people occasionally crashed on his couch, but not all that often. The kitchen, where he cooked, though he preferred to bake. Peanut butter cookies were his favorite. Hopefully Zach didn’t have a peanut allergy. The spare bedroom, which didn’t have a bed in it and ended up being more for hobbies and storage. And then there was his bedroom, the highlight of the tour in Toby’s opinion. “I know it’s small. I keep thinking a house would be fun, but then I spend so little time here that I dunno. A house would be a lot for just me. So this works,” he said, pulling Zach in for a kiss.
As someone who’d never lived alone, Toby’s place seemed super cool to Zach. If he had a second bedroom all to himself, he would make it an office and do all of his gaming and camming in there. The place wasn’t fancy, but Zach didn’t need fancy, and it seemed comfortable enough. Especially the bedroom, which felt pretty exciting to be inside of. “It definitely works,” he murmured before their lips met, wrapping his arms around Toby. It was so cool to think he had a boyfriend with his own place. Zach wanted Toby to come over sometime too, especially to meet Jai, but they wouldn’t have nearly as much freedom to fool around and be loud there. At least not in his brain, while his brother was home. Maybe Jai could make himself scarce sometime. But for now this was beyond good. “I like it,” he added with a tiny smile once their lips parted briefly again. “It feels like you.”
“Thanks,” Toby smiled, but then kissed Zach again, a little bit deeper this time. It was hard to stop now that he didn’t have to—there were no more distractions, or people around, and they were even some place comfortable enough to lounge if they wanted to. And Toby so wanted to. His hands slipped up Zach’s chest to push his jacket off his shoulders, something he should have done when they entered, but he’d been too focused on Zach to do much more than take off his shoes. Now he wanted to take off everything one piece at a time, but wondered if he should be a better host. He’d promised a drink, hadn’t he? “Did you wanna… drink? Or…?” he asked between kisses, not committed enough to the offering to completely stop.
Zach was never opposed to kissing Toby, and his hands left tingles in their wake running up Zach’s chest like that. He moved his arms to tug his jacket sleeves all the way off and let it drop, then reached to do the same with Toby’s jacket. It was definitely exciting to have somewhere private to peel off layers of clothing now. Zach smiled at the question as he guided Toby’s jacket off of his arms. “I’m good,” he answered, running his fingers up bare skin as soon as it was exposed, hands slipping up the sleeves of Toby’s t-shirt. “Do you want a drink?” Zach smooched him again, then nipped playfully at his bottom lip. Toby hadn’t drank as much as he had, since he was driving, and Zach wanted him to feel as good as he wanted to feel.
Toby wouldn’t mind another drink, but stopping to get one had absolutely zero appeal. He’d much rather spend his time getting Zach out of his clothes. The skin on skin contact sent goosebumps up his spine and Toby untucked Zach’s shirt so that he could find some skin of his own to touch. “Maybe later,” he mumbled, the kisses never completely ceasing. “I was thinking… I might… take you to bed first.” He didn’t think it was presumptuous, considering they’d both been thinking about it all night, every little touch and tease building up to this point. He tugged Zach with him as he inched them towards the bed, breaking the kiss to pull Zach’s shirt over his head. “Is that okay?” he smiled, pulling Zach’s hips against his. He was already starting to get hard and Zach could probably feel it, but that was entirely the point.
He couldn’t help but titter a bit before he lifted his arms to let Toby tug his t-shirt off, shuffling with him toward the bed. It wasn’t really a shy giggle, just a delighted one. He was still getting used to the idea that somebody he was so attracted to Wanted him like this, Zach already felt addicted to it. “That’s perfect,” he murmured through his grin. Zach could indeed feel the expanding bulge in the front of Toby’s pants, and he pushed into it a bit, the arousal in his own body growing in response. He was hard too, it was just harder to feel through jeans. Zach kissed him again as his hands worked to tug Toby’s shirt up, only pulling back enough to get it off before he pushed their mouths together again.
It was hard for Toby to fathom why anyone wouldn’t want Zach. He was hot, he was funny, and he was a delight to be around. He also seemed to be under the delusion that Toby wasn’t a hot mess, but that was an oversight that Toby was fine with. His hope was that by the time Zach noticed, he’d have him too roped in to care. He smiled into the kiss, his tongue dipping into Zach’s mouth as his hips ground a little more needily against Zach’s. With their shirts both off, there was so much more skin to explore and Toby’s fingers raked down Zach’s chest before working at his belt. “I’ve been thinking about you all week,” he murmured between kisses. “I missed this.” They’d texted, and sent flirty pictures, but nothing compared to the real thing.
Zach often felt like a hot mess himself, with all the weirdness and secrets in his life, so it was possible that his perspective was skewed. Or they were experiencing the draw of kindred spirits. Whatever it was, Zach was already completely smitten with Toby and he was floating on cloud nine at the moment. His breath was already heavier, and hearing those words while he felt Toby’s fingers tugging at his belt sent a jolt of hot arousal straight into his cock. Zach slipped his hand between them to cup Toby’s bulge through his jeans, thumb slowly rubbing against the head of his cock. It was so damn hot, knowing that erection was all because of him. “I’ve been thinking about you too,” he whispered back, then nipped at Toby’s bottom lip. “Nonstop.”
Toby moaned as Zach rubbed against his bulge, that one little touch making him even harder and his cock strained against the material of his pants. The evidence of Zach’s arousal might not be as prominent, but Toby was sure it was there. He worked his pants open so he could get closer, pushing his jeans down his hips, then cupping his groin. He could feel him then, and Toby rubbed his hand over his cock, wanting him to feel just as good. “Nonstop?” Toby grinned, imaging Zach horny for him every moment since they’d last seen each other. “I don’t know how you could function. That would be… distracting. Maybe even inconvenient.” At least it wouldn’t have been as blatantly obvious. Toby could only imagine trying to work with a constant hardon.
He drew in a shaky breath when Toby touched him through his boxers, feeling even more blood rush into his cock as his core throbbed with need. Zach gave him a dazed grin back. “I mean, there was maybe like ... five minutes of clarity after every time I jerked off thinking about you?” he suggested. “But other than that, yeah, I’ve been pretty fuckin’ distracted.” It was only a slight exaggeration, and if they weren’t in the middle of driving each other crazy he might not have been brave enough to admit it. Luckily both of his jobs left him plenty of room to be constantly horny -- one of them benefited from it, in fact! His subscribers had gotten a lot of content in the past week. Zach moved his hands to the fly of Toby’s pants to start working them open, dipping his head in to kiss him again. He couldn’t seem to stop doing that, but he wasn’t mad about it. Once he could, he slipped his hand inside the tight fabric to pull Toby’s cock free, fingers light as he stroked it.
It was pretty fucking thrilling to know that Zach was that into him, and he could easily imagine him jerking off, just like Toby had done a number of times throughout the week. Every night he’d imagined what he’d do to him if he could get him here, in his own room this time, but now that he had Zach there he couldn’t think. Having Zach there, in his underwear, with his hand on his dick, made it much harder to focus than in his fantasies. One thing was certain—their clothes needed to be gone. One task at a time was all he could handle amid the kissing and the touching, so he pushed Zach’s boxers down his thighs, then removed his own, kicking them to the side. “That’s better,” he hummed, pulling Zach’s body against his as he kissed him again. He could do it a hundred times and it would never get old.
Zach was more than happy to be naked, kicking aside the rest of his clothes as they crumpled to the floor. He didn’t feel a single drop of the anxiety that had been present the last time -- their first time. Toby knew what his body looked like now, and he still seemed completely into this, so there was nothing to worry about. It made Zach feel giddy and ridiculously horny, and he again wished he’d packed a bag, only this time he was wishing for his strap on stuff. That could be introduced later though, he supposed. Zach made out with him for a little longer, hands running over Toby’s bare skin while he relished the hot cock pressing into his stomach, then broke the kiss to flash him another grin. “Step two, let’s get horizontal,” he murmured, nudging Toby to get on the bed. They might as well get comfortable.
There would probably come a time when Toby missed being fucked and he’d have to talk Zach into wearing a strap-on, but they were so new to each other that he was sure that could wait. He didn’t want Zach to think he needed something Zach couldn’t offer—his body was different, but there were still so many ways they could pleasure each other. Toby just wanted Zach to feel comfortable enough with him to tell him what he wanted. He was pretty sure he’d like just about everything. He took Zach’s hand as he moved towards the bed, climbing onto it and pulling him down with him. “How’s that?” he smiled against Zach’s lips as he rolled half on top of Zach, their legs tangling as he rocked his hips against Zach’s. “Tell me what you want.”
All of the dildos in Zach’s collection felt like parts of him, since he’d used them so much, they were just detachable parts he could toss in the dishwasher. He had plenty of times when he wanted to be the top, but some guys just weren’t into the silicone dicks, so Zach figured they could talk about that later. For now it was just the two of them, splayed together in Toby’s bed, and Zach wouldn’t change a damn thing. “Perfect,” he answered softly back, his arm curling around Toby while the other hand ran down his side and hip and thigh. Fuck, he was sexy, and what he said made Zach’s stomach flutter as he licked his lips. He hooked his leg over Toby’s, turning in toward him so he could rub himself lazily against Toby’s thigh. “You wanna maybe ... try to give me head?” he murmured, gazing into Toby’s eyes with a little smile. “It’s okay if not though, I promise.”
“Yeah,” Toby smiled, kissing Zach softly, his only hesitation in the softness of his voice. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to, but it was something he really, truly worried he was bad at. He could suck cock like a pro, but Zach’s anatomy was slightly different and he wanted to make him feel good, not turn him off. “I haven’t done this in, like, a really long time, so… tell me if I’m doing it wrong,” he murmured, kissing his way down Zach’s neck. He peered up at Zach as he moved lower, taking his time at his nipples, teasing and nibbling on them before moving on. He wasn’t shy about his body and he loved that Zach was comfortable in his skin around him as well. He wanted to kiss and taste every part of him, to make Zach quiver beneath him in climax. He might not be especially skilled, but the desire was there, and sometimes that meant more than anything else.
