Who: Ethan and Scarlett Where: Main Street Market When: Noonish, Monday, June 11 Warning: NSFW Status: Complete
Ethan’s original plan had been to take Scarlett out last Saturday night, maybe to dinner, maybe a movie, possibly both. He’d still been figuring it out when he’d found himself with a severe case of insomnia that made it practically impossible to do anything Saturday night other than lay around and hope for sleep. If they’d been closer, maybe they could have endured it together, but when Ethan started seeing things in the shadows he decided that wasn’t the kind of first date he wanted to take anyone on, so he’d been forced to cancel. Luckily, and weirdly enough, he wasn’t the only one going without sleep, so Scarlett hadn’t seemed too put off by the suggestion. But it did mean it was Monday before he could actually do something.
Instead of dinner and a movie, he opted for a walk through the Main Street Market, thinking they could grab lunch and then figure out things from there. It was the exact opposite of their time spent together at Jules’ graduation party, but Ethan thought that might be a good thing. He knew they had sexual chemistry; he just wasn’t sure about anything else. This should give them a chance to talk, to actually hang out for a bit, and then maybe he’d have a better idea what he wanted. Ethan couldn’t figure out if he was excited about the prospect or dreading it, but by the time he pulled up in front of Scarlett’s house he was determined to go through with it either way. Taking a deep breath, he put on a smile and made his way up the sidewalk to the front door, hoping she would be the one to answer.
Scarlett had been more than okay with Ethan canceling their date Saturday night. If she hadn't been so exhausted, she probably would have been pissed, but it had seemed like one of those town-wide problems that plagued Point Pleasant so often. And then she had slept most of Sunday, too groggy to do much else.
When he offered to take her out Monday afternoon, Scarlett decided she was okay with it. It wasn't a date night, but it was Ethan, and Scarlett didn't want to give him a reason to stop calling. Besides, it was summer now, so she didn't have school or anything like that to worry about.
It was another warm day, so Scarlett wore a strapless sundress, wanting to show off as much skin as possible without getting in trouble for it. Her hair was braided and resting over her shoulder. Since her parents were at work, Scarlett didn't have to worry about anyone answering the door and potentially embarrassing her.
She had just slipped on her sandals when Ethan knocked at the door, and Scarlett opened it, meeting his smile with one of her own. There had been a lot of alcohol involved the last time they "saw" each other, and honestly, Scarlett had almost forgotten how tall he was. And hot. So hot. She should have texted Vic to tell her where she was going today and with who. Maybe she would send a picture later.
"Hi," she said, grabbing her purse and stepping out of the house to pull the door closed. "How are you?"
They’d been exchanging texts and pictures, so Ethan remembered how hot Scarlett was, but a photo just didn’t compare to the real thing. His eyes swept over her, the flattering curve of her dress and her exposed shoulders, and Ethan momentarily reconsidered going out—they could stay in, watch a movie, have some alone time… but that wasn’t the point. He just had to remind himself that if they had fun, they could do this again, possibly this weekend. It wasn’t like he had a busy schedule. Even working part time and taking online classes, Ethan had plenty of room for a social life. “Hey,” he smiled as they walked towards the car. “I’m good. Glad to have the day off. It makes Monday a bit more enjoyable. What about you?”
"Better now," Scarlett said. She really enjoyed standing in front of him and having to look up. She may have been drunk when they hooked up but she definitely remembered that he had a killer body. She already wanted to just crawl up it and cling. "I don't have to work today either, so that's definitely a plus. Do you feel better after all that weird stuff from the weekend?" The insomnia had been awful and Scarlett had fallen asleep and woken up with dark circles under her eyes. So not flattering at all but thankfully she had been able to cover them up with her makeup that morning. Beauty sleep was a legit thing and Scarlett had been robbed of it over the weekend.
“Yeah, but I feel like I wasted a day sleeping once I was finally able to sleep,” Ethan said with a little laugh. “I wish I knew what caused it. It’s just so weird.” And what was weirder was that no one seemed to be looking for an explanation. He felt like that sort of thing should have been investigated. He’d mentioned it to his uncle, but he got the impression that wasn’t the sort of thing AIR pursued. But if not scientists, wouldn’t law enforcement like to know? It was just bizarre, as he’d heard things in Point Pleasant often were. It already felt like something in the past, so he was fine with moving on, so long as he got to sleep the rest of the week. He opened her car door for her, then went around to his side and climbed in, starting the car. “Where do you work?” he asked, since she mentioned it. There was so much he didn’t know about her, but he had to start somewhere.
It was weird, but what else was new? This whole town was weird, most of the time. Scarlett supposed it was some kind of weird gas leak, or pollution or whatever. That's what the cops would eventually say, anyway. Although insomnia wasn't exactly something you could explain beyond, you know, not being able to sleep. She wasn't all that worried about it now that it was over. "I work at Veronica's," Scarlett said. "It's on Main Street? It's like a clothing boutique. What about you? Are you working yet?" She honestly couldn't remember if he had mentioned he had a job or anything like that. A lot of Jules's party was just vague conversations and sensations, although she definitely remembered the sex.
Ethan was vaguely aware that there was a shop called Veronica’s on Main Street, but he didn’t know anything more than that. It had never seemed like the kind of store he might be interested in, and probably still wasn’t, even if Scarlett worked there. “I’m taking online classes at University of Maine, while doing an internship with the American Institute of Research,” he smiled. “It’s not the best paying job right now, but it has long term potential, if that’s what I want to do. And if not, it looks great on a resume.” He didn’t think there were any other facilities like AIR, so he couldn’t really imagine doing anything else, now that he knew the possibilities they presented. Studying anything else was almost boring by comparison.
College and a job at some place that sounded important. Scarlett smiled, because it meant Ethan had potential. He wasn't working at the theater or McDonald's or anything gross like that. Not that she'd ditched him if he had been shoveling fries. Not yet, anyway. But knowing he was striving for some kind of future was a bonus. She had dated way too many losers in the past. "The American Institute of Research? What do they research? They're not like, killing mice or anything awful like that, are they?"
“No, nothing like that,” Ethan smiled. “Their research focuses mainly on the social sciences: human behavior, psychology, sociology, and the human brain. I don’t really know exactly which way I want to go, but somewhere in that realm. Right now I’m just taking Intro to Psychology, so I’ve got a ways to go.” He couldn’t exactly go into detail about what AIR really did, but maybe if things really took off with Scarlett, he might tell her what he could do. Yet he doubted they would last that long. She was probably looking forward to college in the fall. It wasn’t the kind of information he could share with a summer fling. “Are you going anywhere in the fall? Or staying around here?”
Human behavior. Scarlett saw enough of human behavior in every day life, she'd never want to actually study it. Most people were gross and she didn't need doctors telling her that. She knew better than to say so, not wanting Ethan to think she was crapping on his potential future. Psychologists made a ton of money, after all. His questions prompted Scarlett to shrug, a smile still playing at her lips. "I don't know. I was accepted into a few schools but I may just take online classes and work, save up to move out and all of that. I want to be on my own." Honestly, her grades weren't the best and her parents didn't exactly have a ton of money to send her to college. She wasn't smart enough for a scholarship and Scarlett didn't want to weigh herself down with student loans. Her cousin was four years into his job as an associate at a law firm in Portland and he was still riddled with debt from college. That was so not the life she wanted for herself.
Ethan knew that college wasn’t for everyone and he firmly believed that if you didn’t know what you wanted to do, you probably shouldn’t spend thousands of dollars trying to figure it out. Unfortunately, he couldn’t pursue work at AIR without a degree, so that’s what he was doing. At least most of it was interesting. “I don’t blame you for wanting to move out. It’s pretty nice. Except for the cooking,” he smiled. “I’m still figuring that one out.” He’d started out doing takeout all the time, but quickly found out how expensive that was. Even if his uncle was footing the bill for his apartment, he didn’t want to spend such a big chunk of his income on food. When they got to Main Street, Ethan began looking for a good place to park, not entirely sure how the summer market worked. There were more people than a normal weekday, but it didn’t look too crowded, for which he was thankful. He pulled into a parking spot and smiled over at her. “You ever come out to these? I’m not sure what to expect.”
Scarlett grimaced. "I think the extent of my cooking is reheating whatever my mom made me. Obviously I would try to learn if I lived on my own. Hopefully without burning down wherever I'm living." Because she definitely wouldn't be able to order take out every night. Scarlett was already resigned to the fact that she'd probably have to get a roommate. When they parked, Scarlett returned his smile. He was just too cute. It made her want to grab him and push him into the backseat. "I've been here before, yeah. Sometimes there's not much going on at the beginning of summer except for the markets. I've found some really cute things here. It's kind of fun to look around and see what you can find. It's pretty laid back, I think you'll like it."
“Well, if you get bored, just tell me, and we’ll find something else to do,” Ethan smiled at her, then climbed out of the car. He was so glad it had turned out to be a nice day, otherwise he’d have had to come up with something indoors. Going to the movies was fine, except he wanted to talk to her, not just sit in a dark theater and make out. Though he wasn’t really against the making out part. “I thought we’d walk around, shop a little, maybe grab some lunch if you’re hungry. We could even go picnic somewhere, if the weather stays nice.” Maybe somewhere private, if things were leaning that way, but Ethan didn’t say so. He didn’t want to think that was his primary objective, though he really wanted an opportunity to rip that little sun dress off her.
Once she was out of the car, Scarlett smoothed her dress down over her thighs. "I think all of that sounds great, especially if we can go eat somewhere private." She smiled at him, not caring at all if that sounded too bold or forward or whatever. They had already seen each other naked so why be coy about that kind of stuff? Scarlett liked to play hard to get when it suited her, but it didn't really feel like it would benefit her in this situation. "Do you have any like, hard plans for the summer? Or are you just going to stick around Point Pleasant." That wouldn't be a bad thing. Scarlett wanted to grab Vic and some friends and drive to the beach but she doubted she would be doing anything more exciting than that, as depressing as it was.
"I think we could manage that," Ethan grinned, glad that he and Scarlett were on the same wavelength. The last thing he wanted was to take her somewhere private and then find out she was uncomfortable with the situation. It seemed unlikely, considering they'd already had sex, but Ethan tried to be considerate. "Nothing's really set in stone yet, but I think I'll mostly be around here. Jules talked a little about a road trip to visit a friend in Virginia, but I'm not sure how serious she was." He imagined they'd do something, but he wasn't sure if they'd make it all the way down to Virginia. It probably depended a little bit on Carson. Ethan was just along for the ride. "What about you? Any big plans?"
There were very few things that made Scarlett uncomfortable, something she hoped Ethan would get to see for himself over the course of the summer, if they kept hanging out. She walked beside Ethan, scanning the crowd in front of her for anyone she might know. Or any vendors that looked interesting enough to stop at. "I'm not really sure yet. I want to hang out with my friends, since a lot of them are leaving for college in the fall. I don't know when I'll see them again, you know? I kind of like... impulsive things. Being able to wake up and just go do whatever I want to do." Scarlett smiled and glanced at Ethan. "You and Jules are pretty close, huh? I'm not like... getting in the way of anything there, am I?"
Ethan made a mental note, wondering what impulsive things they could get up to this summer. He tended to be a bit of a planner himself, but that meant he could surprise her and not have her get all huffy in response. They could hop in the car and take a day trip if they wanted, go to the beach or some other adventure. He'd have to find out what kind of things she liked or didn't, just so he could cross the hard no's off the list. "No, we're just friends," he said, finding that much easier to accept with Scarlett there beside him. He wondered if there was something more he should say about it, but explaining how they'd come to be so close was complicated, the subject matter uncharted territory when it came to Scarlett. "You did cheerleading with her, right? You and Victoria?”
That was a relief, honestly. As much as Scarlett enjoyed bagging Jules's hot friend, she definitely didn't want to end up having to compete for him. At least with Jules. With Vic it was fun, probably because Scarlett was more like Vic than she was Jules. And Vic was willing to put something on the line, like Scarlett. There were no lines they couldn't cross to win. And Scarlett had already won Ethan so she didn't feel like having to do it again. "Yeah, we were all cheerleaders," Scarlett said with a smile. "We had so much fun. We were on squad together since freshman year. Although after Jasper left town, Jules quit, which kind of sucked, but it is what it is. I still have my uniform though, you know, if you ever want to see it," Scarlett said, shooting Ethan a pointed look. She knew how boys got with those uniforms. It was a wet dream for most of them.
Ethan had spent a lot of time around cheerleaders in high school, but he wasn’t sure those little bitty skirts would ever get old. He imagined seeing Scarlet in full uniform and wondered just hold long he would last before stripping it off her. Not long at all, which he was guessing she knew. There was no other reason for her to mention it. “That could be fun,” he smirked, leaning into her, one hand resting low on her back. “You could show me a move or two?” Now he was wondering if she could do the splits. Most cheerleaders were super flexible. He could have laughed at how easily Scarlett had dragged his mind into the gutter, but it was something of a relief as well. He didn’t want to be dwelling on Jules while on a date with Scarlett. He wanted to enjoy the girl he was with, the one who wanted to be more than friends. The attention was exciting and the more he got of it, the more he wanted.
"Oh, for sure," Scarlett said, enjoying the feel of his hand against her back. It was already difficult not to take his hand and drag him somewhere private. "I've definitely got moves you've never seen before." And no, she wasn't talking about cheerleading. Scarlett slipped her arm around his waist, just because she could and because she wanted anyone who saw them together to know he was there with her. "Did you play any sports in high school? With your body, I'm guessing you did." He was fit and had that athletic look about him. But he wasn't too bulky or anything, which was also super nice.
Ethan’s brain had moved beyond cheerleading as well and his grin back at her probably said as much. He’d gotten a taste of what she was capable of and was definitely interested more, hopefully sooner rather than later. He liked the way her body fit against his, the feel of her skin shifting beneath the material of her dress as she walked. It was distracting in the best possible way. “Football because it was the thing to do, and basketball because I was good at it,” he smiled down at her. “Being tall also helped.” He missed the organized sports of high school and found himself looking for something to replace it sometimes. Maybe if he’d gone away to college, there might have been an intramural team or something, but Ethan realized that was probably a thing of the past that he was just going to miss.
"I knew it," Scarlett said. Her smile widened. "I bet you were amazing at both. You probably had all the girls throwing themselves at you." He probably still did, which only made Scarlett feel more smug about their date today. "A lot of the athletes here played more than one sport, since the town is so damn small. I can play basketball, you know. I don't have the height but I think I'm still pretty good. We should play one on one sometime. Make a wager or something like that." She definitely wouldn't mind seeing Ethan get nice and sweaty. Without a shirt too. Half naked and sweaty sounded really good to her.
Ethan laughed, but decided not to recount his high school love life. The number of girls he’d had on his arm meant so little now that they’d all gone away, but that was something Scarlett would better understand the farther she got from high school. “You wanna play some one on one?” he grinned, raising a brow. He liked the idea of seeing her in a tank top and little shorts, running around the court with her hair in a ponytail, and sweat on her temples. Dressed like that, he doubted he could finish the game without pinning her to something, the need to touch her too strong to resist. Ethan’s fingers drew small circles on her back and he licked his lips, trying to focus. “What would you wager?”
Scarlett was athletic enough. She had to be in order to be a cheerleader. But she knew how to play basketball and while she didn't think she was amazing or anything like that, she was betting she could have some fun with Ethan. "Oh, I don't know. We could wager something small and silly. Or we could wager something that would probably make you blush." Smiling up at him, she pressed her fingers against his side teasingly. "I can get pretty competitive though, especially if there's something on the line that I really want. But I think we could make sure it's a win-win situation for both of us."
Ethan could be competitive himself, but he wasn’t sure kicking Scarlett’s ass would be a great thing to do. It would likely put her in a poor mood and hurt pride didn’t usually translate over to horny, something he was sure he would be after chasing her all over the court. There had to be a way to win gracefully—and he had to win because he wasn’t sure he could handle her beating him on the court. It was something to think about if the situation ever became reality, but for now he’d settle for the idea that he’d be happy with either outcome. “I think it’s harder to make me blush than you realize,” he smiled, enjoying the little tingle he got from her fingers at his side. “But sure, I like the idea of a win-win situation. No reason we both can’t benefit.”
Scarlett loved flirting with boys and playing hard to get. But she was competitive enough that she wouldn't pretend to not know what she was doing if there was the possibility of winning. Obviously she knew Ethan would probably kick her butt, given he was a basketball player and he was so deliciously tall. But she would do her best to show him she wasn't some dainty girl. Hopefully he wasn't the kind of guy who would get annoyed with her over it. Some guys didn't like being challenged by girls. "Well, one thing you'll learn about hanging out with me is that you will always benefit from it." Scarlett smiled. "And now I want to try and figure out what does make you blush."
His behavior the last time they’d slept together would’ve normally made him blush, though he wasn’t about to tell her that. For one, bringing it up would probably make him blush here and now, something he wanted to avoid. But more importantly, he couldn’t explain why he’d been so crude and forward. Aggressive, even. And if she expected that kind of behavior from him every time, then she was going to be disappointed. He’d written it off as being drunk, though it seemed like a flimsy excuse. But those were his own actions making him blush. Scarlett pulling that response from him seemed like a different game entirely. “I’m sure you’ll think of something. You seem creative,” he grinned.
Scarlett had always been of the mind that alcohol helped lower inhibitions. It was so fascinating to see people she knew behave differently when they were wasted and in her mind, they were showing parts of who they really were. Parts that they kept hidden for whatever reason. She still had no idea if what happened at Jules's party was all alcohol and party drugs, or if it was something weird but in the end, it didn't really matter to her. Ethan's more aggressive sexual behavior wasn't something she expected every time they hooked up, if that's where this was heading, but she liked that she knew he was capable of it. He could have so easily been a hot but bland and boring guy in bed and Scarlett was so done with those guys. "Oh, I'm super creative," Scarlett said, raising a brow. "I think you'll have a lot of fun with me." She glanced around the various vendor booths. "Do you want to take a look in some of these? Maybe you can find something interesting for your apartment."
There was no question in Ethan’s mind on if they’d have fun together. He felt like that part was already a given. There was definite chemistry between them and the hard part was figuring out if there was anything else. He knew some of that would take time, and probably trust. Trust was something he wasn’t all that great at, but he was willing to try. “Sure,” he smiled, stepping into one of the booths. “It’s kind of baron at the moment. Definitely looks like a college kid just got more space than he knows what to do with. And if I ask my mom for help, she’ll take over.” He wanted his apartment to be in his own style; he just had to figure out what that was first.
Honestly, there was a bit of envy there that he had his own apartment. Scarlett was still living at home and who knew when she would be able to get out there on her own. Maybe college. Maybe before that. She just had a bad habit of spending her paychecks almost as soon as she got them so saving up would take a long time and her parents weren't really financially stable to help her out. "Oh yeah? What's your mom's style?" Scarlett asked with a growing smile. "Say she did take over. What would your apartment look like then?" She was genuinely curious, she found. There wasn't a lot about Ethan that she actually knew other than he was gorgeous and good in bed. Sometimes that was enough for her but seeing as how Scarlett wanted to keep Ethan around for a bit, she wanted to figure him out.
Ethan pictured his mother’s home, the marble and leather and polished wood, and tried to picture any of that in an apartment. Her house was grand and cozy, but it was hard for him to imagine his own home decorated the same way. He liked the idea of things looking a bit more modern. “I like some of my mom’s stuff. I think it’d be cool to have a leather couch or chair or something. But I feel like there’s a lot of pillows in her house. Like, six on the couch and ten on each bed,” he laughed lightly. “I’d want more modern art maybe. More modern furniture. But without it looking like it all came from IKEA. I spent my first big paycheck on a huge TV, but still need a table for the kitchen.” It was fine. It was only him, so he ate on the couch.
Scarlett laughed. "I'd probably do the same," she admitted. "If I got a place of my own, I mean. Get a tv before a table. You can always eat on the couch or the floor. Your mom sounds like my mom, though. Pillows everywhere. They have like, thirty five on their bed. Which is probably an exaggeration but my poor dad has to fling all these pillows off the bed every night just to sleep. Then my mom makes him put them all back the next morning. It's such a tedious routine, I swear. I'm afraid my mom is turning into my grandma with her taste. Like, our kitchen? Sunflowers. Sunflowers on the curtains. Sunflower cookie jar. I think her baking spatulas have sunflowers on them too." Scarlett groaned softly before shaking her head. "There's this cool artist who comes to the market days. Their tent is like, at the very end of the street but he has some really great photography. I know it's not art art, but you might like some of it."
“It sounds like she need a sunflower intervention,” Ethan chuckled. Overall, he thought his mother had good tastes, but he wanted something different for himself. He wanted to be the sort of adult-male that figured out his own aesthetic, rather than let his mother come in and just have free rein to do as she pleased. He was sure it would look nice, but it would definitely look like his mom had furnished his apartment. “I’m pretty sure photographers categorize their photos as art,” he smiled. “Some people can do amazing things with a camera. It’d be fun to check it out.” Having something to hang on the walls that wasn’t a poster would be an improvement. ”Is there anything you want to look for?”
Her mom probably needed all kinds of interventions, to be honest, but Scarlett still grinned at him in agreement. Her mom just liked the country look, she supposed. Strange, given they lived in a coastal town. Scarlett often dreamed about what her own apartment would look like someday. Something sleek and modern. In reality, it would probably be full of garage sale furniture and hand me downs unless she got a really good job after college. "I like just browsing," she admitted. "And seeing if anything jumps out at me. My mom says I'm too impulsive with my money so I'm trying to learn how to not buy things just because they're pretty. Having you here will help with that though, because I'll probably be too distracted by you."
“I think so long as you’re not paying bills, you’re allowed to be a little impulsive with your money,” Ethan smiled. “It’s pretty much the only time in your life that you can spend everything and not have any real consequences.” Sometimes he missed not being responsible, but the freedom that came with living on his own made it worth it, even if he sometimes felt poor. At least his uncle was footing the bill for his apartment. Things would be considerably tighter if that wasn’t the case. He kind of wanted to know what jumped out at her, but he also didn’t want to commit himself to buying her something. It felt way too early for gifts, especially the pretty, shiny kind. “But if you’re trying to save your money, I think I can keep you suitably distracted,” he said, giving her a little squeeze.
Scarlett was definitely impulsive. Sometimes it got her into trouble, but sometimes good things came out of it. There was something really exciting about throwing caution to the wind just to see what transpired. "I like the sound of that," Scarlett said. "Are these like, sexy distractions? Or more, waving your arms around like a crazy person distractions." She was teasing him, of course, but Scarlett really wouldn't mind it if she was completely distracted by him for the entire afternoon. She knew a little bit more about him now, which was nice, but it was also hard not to just climb up his body and have her way with him.
“Sexy distractions would be a lot more fun,” Ethan murmured, leaning in closer to her. “Maybe we should go ahead and pick up lunch, find a place a bit more private to eat.” Food wasn’t really on his mind, but it seemed important to keep up appearances. Then she could brag to her friends that he’d taken her shopping and off to a nice, romantic picnic, unless she wanted to brag about what they got up to. Ethan got the feeling Scarlett was the kind of girl to brag; he just wasn’t sure which story she’d prefer to spin. They’d talked about looking at the art further down the street, but he could always come back to it later, or maybe they’d stop by on the way there. Either way, he liked the destination he thought they both had in mind.
Sexy distractions would be so much more fun and Scarlett's smile shifted into something a little more suggestive. "That's a great idea. I'm pretty hungry." And maybe she was itching to get him somewhere more private. Scarlett wouldn't have to share him with all of these people, even if they were more or less strangers to him. She could get away with a lot more if they were alone. "Do you want to grab Moxie's or something? Or we could just get something on Main Street." She didn't have a preference as long as it wasn't too greasy. Not that Scarlett really planned on eating much once they were alone.
“I’m always game for Moxie’s,” Ethan grinned, though he was already thinking that he’d want something that didn’t have to be eaten hot. If things went his way, he wouldn’t get to it until their food was cold. But Moxie’s had more than burgers and fries, so that should work perfectly. It wasn’t far, and it was familiar, whereas some of the eateries on Main Street were not. Ethan didn’t feel like trying something new today. The only reason he was ready for lunch was because he was ready for alone time with Scarlett. WIth that on his mind, he started to steer them that direction, glad it wouldn’t be too far from where he’d parked. “Let’s go. If these things happen twice a week, we can always come to another some other time.”
It was a good sign that he had mentioned coming some other time to the street market because that meant he wasn't super bored with her. They could always find fun things to do in town, but they could definitely find even more fun things to do when they were alone. Scarlett stuck close to Ethan as they walked through town to Moxie's to grab some lunch. After getting it to go, they found a little spot on a hill and under a tree near the harbor to eat. They were far enough away from all of the public places that it felt private enough to talk and eat without anyone seeing them, which was even better. It was a spot Scarlett had led Ethan too. A spot she had used in the past when she was dating someone. Scarlett sat, not bothering to smooth her dress over her thighs. What would be the point of that? "It's nice up here," she told Ethan. "You can see a lot." Mostly the marina down below and all of that, but the ocean was always pretty.
Ethan didn’t ask how Scarlett knew about this place, aware she’d probably been there with other guys before him. It didn’t bother him. If it’d been his hometown, he’d have known where to take her himself, but there were still a lot of things he didn’t know about Point Pleasant and it hadn’t occurred to him to ask Jules where a good place to park was. He’d considered Sweetbriar bridge, but that place felt kind of sacred to him, even on in their world, so this was better. He’d brought a blanket to lay out on the ground, picnic-style, and settled down next to Scarlett, their lunch still sitting off to the side. “I’m definitely enjoying the view,” he grinned, his eyes on her rather than the marina. The way her skirt kept riding up her thighs was distracting and he was itching to slide his hands up them.
Scarlett smiled and leaned back comfortably, her legs stretched out in front of her, crossing at the ankle. It was always a thrill when a cute guy flirted with her and she made a mental note to take a photo with Ethan before they were done so she could send it to Vic. This might have been her up here if she had won their bet the night of Jules's party. Even the mere thought of having lost sparked Scarlett's competitive nature and arched a brow at Ethan. "Do you think I can pull you away from the view for a few seconds so you can kiss me?"
“That shouldn’t be a problem,” Ethan grinned, then leaned in to kiss her. It was something he’d wanted to do the whole time he was with her, but knew that if he got started, it would be hard to stop. Now that they were somewhere private, he could enjoy himself, taking the kiss slowly at first, teasing her lips into opening for him as one hand came to rest on her hip. The material of her dress felt so flimsy under his fingers as he stroked her side and he imagined what it would feel like if it were her skin. He didn’t think they could do that there, in broad daylight, out in the open, even if where they were was private, but there was a lot they could get away with, if Scarlett would let him.
She had been pretty drunk the last time they kissed so Scarlett was really relieved to find it hadn't been the alcohol that made her believe he was a fantastic kisser. His lips were soft but the kiss was firm and Scarlett leaned into it, bringing her hand up to slip along the nape of his neck where her fingers could play with his hair. She wasn't thinking about where they were or what they could do, only that she wanted to do a lot of things, most of which included touching Ethan. Scarlett stroked her tongue against his, a very soft moan forming in her throat as she scooted in closer to him.
It was so easy for Ethan to get caught up in the kiss, far more focused on how soft her lips were, than who might be able to see them. The longer he kissed her, the more the world around them faded away, and it wasn’t long at all before his tongue was slipping into her mouth and his hand was moving lower, stroking her thigh and teasing the hem of her skirt. He loved the way her hand moved into his hair and hummed his approval, pulling her closer. His memory of their last time together was kind of fuzzy, but he definitely recalled how active a participant she’d been and that was always something he enjoyed.
Kissing was one of Scarlett's favorite things to do. There was something to be said for just taking one's time and teasing each other with lips and tongue and feeling that arousing heat build to an almost intolerable level. And Ethan was such a good kisser that Scarlett lost herself in it easily, enjoying the way his fingertips teased her skin near the hem of her skirt. Because she wanted to touch him too, Scarlett slipped her hand beneath his shirt, fingertips trailing over his bare stomach to his waist. She wished she had gotten a better picture of his body to show off to Victoria because damn, he was sexy as hell. And right now he was all hers and Scarlett had no plans to let him go anytime soon.
Ethan had always loved kissing, but it was the touching that really got him going. He could manage languidly kissing for hours, but once hands began to wander, it got harder to stifle his arousal. He wanted to keep things slow, to let that anticipation build until he could no longer stand it, but Scarlett’s hands on the bare skin of his stomach sent a shiver through him that made his heart began to pound harder in his chest. His fingers slid just under her skirt, inching up her thigh at a snail’s pace, teasing her as much as he was teasing himself. He wanted so much more, but there was always greater payoff if he could force himself to ease into it.
Scarlett was okay with going slow. It wasn't like she had anywhere to be and the longer she got to keep Ethan for the day, the better. So she enjoyed the feel of his fingers on her skin, moaning softly into his mouth as everything started to grow hot and tingly in her belly. She loved how she could feel the muscles beneath his skin and Scarlett trailed her fingernails gently up his belly. And yes, she wondered what he would let her do to him. She had no idea if he was one of those guys who would shy away from fooling around in public, even when there wasn't anyone around. She supposed she would find out soon enough but honestly, she hoped Ethan was a little more adventurous than her last boyfriend had been.
If someone were to ask Ethan if he’d fool around in public, in broad daylight, he’d have said absolutely not. It was a completely different question when he had Scarlett in his arms, his mouth on hers as his hand slid up her skirt. Any concern that someone would see them seemed to disappear, his brain instead rationalizing that the area was secluded and that no one was going to stumble upon them unless they were looking to get an eyeful. Her nails on his stomach earned a little shiver in response and the next thing he knew, his fingers were tracing along the edge of her panties and his cock was beginning to swell. His kisses became harder, deeper, until he had to stop for a gasp of air, but then went right back in, this time kissing and sucking on her neck, unable to help himself from tasting her skin.
If there was one thing that Scarlett absolutely loved it was knowing boys wanted her. Sometimes she felt like she was living in the shadows of Jules and Vic, but right now, with Ethan's lips on her neck and his hand under her skirt, she felt smug and confident and desired in a way that was so intoxicating. Scarlett arched her neck, moaning softly as those pleasurable tingles began to grow between her legs. She wanted his fingers on her, but didn't want to rush, even though she knew they should. But no one was around and it all felt too good to stop so she slipped her hand down to his crotch, squeezing his growing hardon through his jeans. He wanted her as much as she wanted him and Scarlett was content for the moment to just tease him a bit.
Ethan was eager to move faster now, though not because he was worried about getting caught. He just couldn’t wait any longer to touch her, not with her squeezing his dick through his jeans. His hand slid up higher, moving between her legs to brush over her panties, feeling her mound beneath his fingers. As the wetness began to seek through, he began thinking of all the things he could do to her right here, out in the open. He wanted to hear more of those little noises she made, even if they should be quiet, wanted to hear her gasp and moan with each brush of his fingers. “You’re so wet,” he muttered against her neck, giving it a little nip as he slipped his fingers beneath the flimsy material. As he began to tease her clit, he remembered how good it had felt to slip into that tight heat and wondered if he’d get a chance to do it again today. It certainly felt worth the risk.
This was exactly why Scarlett had worn a dress today. She had been hoping to get Ethan alone to mess around and now here they were. Her body felt warm and aroused and she was completely lost in the way Ethan's fingers were touching her. Hoping he wouldn't stop her, Scarlett began to tug open his jeans, wanting to get her hand inside to touch him the same way he was touching her. "Can't help it," Scarlett said, her breath hitching at the feel of his fingers stroking her clit. It was difficult not to yank his cock out right there and climb on. She finally managed to slip her hand into his jeans where she could touch his cock properly. "Looks like you like this just as much as I do."
“Fuck, yes,” Ethan muttered as Scarlett began to tug at his jeans, and he nipped her neck again before sliding one finger inside of her. She was so slick and ready for him that he began to wonder if he could fuck her right there on the picnic blanket, out in the open. Her tight little cunt was practically begging for it. He knew that wasn’t advisable, so he tried to think of alternatives, but it was significantly harder to think once Scarlett’s hand was in his pants, wrapping around his cock. He’d made no moves to stop her, wanted her to by that point, and silently wondered if asking her to ride him like this wouldn’t effectively conceal any inappropriate body parts. Not that it would matter if they got caught, but in his sex-dazed brain it made sense.
"Oh, fuck," Scarlett breathed, her body throbbing around Ethan's finger. This was so hot that she honestly felt like she was burning up from the inside out. Instinctively, Scarlett rocked her hips against his hand, eager for more friction. They could probably just get each other off like this, but Scarlett was feeling selfish and adventurous and they were still completely alone up here. In all the times Scarlett had been up here with a boy, they had never been interrupted and she doubted today would suddenly change that. Licking her lips, Scarlett tugged Ethan's jeans open a bit more so she could slip his cock from its confines. He was so hard and ready for her and Scarlett began to stroke him before she turned her face to nip at his earlobe. "Let me fuck you," she murmured. "It'll be so good, I promise."
Ethan laughed softly against Scarlett’s neck, amused that she thought he would need convincing on her part. Stopping didn’t even seem in the equation at that point; it was just a matter of how they would come, and when. And if the choice was between her hand and her pussy, he’d take her pussy every time. “Yeah,” he grinned, pulling her into his lap before he paused, suddenly aware that he was forgetting something. “I need—one sec.” He hated stopping, absolutely hated it, but the only thing worse than getting caught would be getting Scarlett pregnant just because he was too lazy to get a condom. He wasn’t even drunk, so he didn’t have that excuse. He dug in his pocket for his wallet and pulled out the condom that he’d put there just in case this happened again. He hadn’t been planning to get lucky, but he wanted to be prepared if it came to that.
A thrill soared through Scarlett when Ethan pulled her onto his lap. The skirt of her dress would rest comfortably over the lower halves of their bodies so it wasn't like anyone would see anything if they came walking by. She grinned when she watched him pull out a condom, because at least he was prepared. She was on birth control but she knew some guys needed that extra reassurance. Scarlett plucked it from his hand and tore it open herself, scooting back just enough to slip it over his cock herself. She liked taking charge and she watched his face as she rolled the condom down his length. "How's that?" she asked, still smiling as she gripped him and sifted her hips to ease him inside of her.
If Ethan had known she was on birth control, he probably would have foregone the condom. He knew it was safer, that he could say he’d done his part to prevent anything from happening, but if there were ever a time he felt like being lackadaisical about condoms, it was now. But then Scarlett had to go and make it hot. Putting a condom on himself never was, but watching her do it was a turn on. Even more so was the way she gripped him and positioned herself over him. Ethan cursed softly as she slid down his shaft, enveloping him in her tight heat. He pulled her in for a kiss and tried not to buck his hips, but damn did it feel good. “You’re so fucking hot,” he murmured as his hands moved back to her ass, giving it a squeeze. Her skirt might have hidden what their bodies, but if anyone saw them there’d be no doubt what they were up to.
Scarlett smiled against Ethan’s mouth even as she rolled her hips to take him deeper. “I know.” Of course she was hot. She knew what it took to get the guys that she wanted and she was almost always successful. Ethan was special, because Vic wanted him too. And probably Jules, even if she didn’t realize it. There was no way any girl would hang out with someone who looked like Ethan and not want his dick too. Pressing her hands on the blanket on either side of Ethan’s head, Scarlett used it as leverage to start moving. Every rock of her hips drew a soft moan from her lips and while she knew she couldn’t scream, she wanted to make sure Ethan knew how good he was making her feel.
Her confidence was sexy as hell and Ethan grinned up at her in response, letting his hands begin to wander as she took control of the movement. He could take hold of her hips and fuck her from below, but she’d explicitly asked to fuck him, so he was happy to give her that, especially when it felt so good. Instead, his hands moved to her breasts and cupped them as she rocked on him, gently squeezing them and thumbing over her nipples before tugging the straps down on her dress to bare them to him. They were already fucking, so what did it matter if a little more flesh was exposed. He leaned up on an elbow so he could draw one into his mouth, rolling his tongue over her nipple until it hardened. He loved the little noises she made and wished to draw more from her, even when he knew that wasn’t advisable.
Scarlett certainly didn't mind baring her chest to him, especially when his mouth covered one of her breasts, drawing another moan to her lips. Sliding her hand into his hair, she held him there, starting to rise a little on her knees to thrust her hips back down, taking his cock in deeper with every movement. God, he was so hot. Scarlett enjoyed the fun mental image of just tying him up in her bedroom and using him whenever she wanted. Somehow she doubted he would mind it. This was what she wanted to do all summer long, until he was addicted and couldn't stop. "You feel so fucking good," Scarlett breathed, gripping his hair to draw his mouth from her breast so she could kiss him again.
“You too,” Ethan moaned against her breast, giving her nipple a little nip of his teeth as he began to rock beneath her, matching her thrusts. “Come on, baby. Ride my cock.” The words tumbled out of him without much thought as his control started to slip away and need began to take over. This was what he remembered most about Scarlett, how eager she’d been to let him fuck her, then how incredibly hot that fuck had been. He’d been worried she wouldn’t live up to the memory, but that wasn’t the case at all. She was just as hot today as she’d been that night, just aching to have him in her again, and he doubted there’d ever be a time that he said no. She could do whatever she wanted to him, so long as he got to fuck her tight little pussy, even in broad daylight, out in public. He couldn’t tell if that was a kink, or if it was just her, that he’d fuck her anywhere, anytime, and all she had to do was ask.
Scarlett loved having some semblance of control over the guys in her life. She needed to feel wanted and if they didn’t give her that, then they weren’t worth her time. Ethan made her feel wanted, even if it was only in a physical sense. Sometimes she found that much more satisfying than an emotional attachment. At least if she got hurt during sex it would probably carry some level of pleasure. Just the fact that Ethan was letting her fuck him up here, outside, told her that he would probably let her fuck him anywhere and wasn’t that a treat? Groaning, Scarlett used both hands against his chest to push him down onto his back again. Keeping her hands on his chest, Scarlett rode him harder, her eyes closed and lips parted with moans that she couldn’t seem to quiet. “Tell me when you’re about to come,” Scarlett breathed, thrusting her hips with abandon now.
Ethan wouldn’t have necessarily said that being with a controlling woman was hot, but the way Scarlett pushed him back down and road him towards her own orgasm definitely was. He loved that she wasn’t shy in the least, and was comfortable enough with her body to bring herself pleasure. She might not be there yet, but Ethan was sure that he’d feel it when she got there. He had a front row seat. Ethan looked up at her with lust filled eyes, barely able to do more than shift his hips as she pleasured them both, and knew it wouldn’t be long before he came. He could feel his balls drawing up closer to his body, that fluttering in his belly that grew more and more frantic by the second, and he bit his lip, trying to hold it off a little bit longer, wanting to enjoy it for as long as he could. “Almost there,” he gasped when his resolve began to give way. “So close. Come on. I wanna feel you come on my cock.”
"Fuck... yes..." Breathless, Scarlett smiled, a smug sort of satisfaction blossoming through her at the look on his face. If he didn't piss her off in the near future, she would let him do things to her that he's probably only ever fantasized about. Things Vic and Jules would probably never let a boy do to them. It was the best way to keep boys on a string, salivating until they got their next piece. As good as Ethan's dick felt, it was even hotter to know she had him, someone her friends all lusted after and he wanted her. That certainly pushed Scarlett closer to the edge than anything else and she worked her hips over him harder before slipping one hand between their bodies to rub her clit. It didn't take much longer after that until she was biting into her lip to stifle the sharp cry of release as her body began to throb rhythmically around his cock.
Ethan lost it when Scarlett began to touch herself, the visual making it hard to hold out any longer. His hips jerked up, crashing into her heat as he came, his body shuddering beneath her. It was the sort of feeling that could be addicting, and Ethan thought he’d probably do whatever she wanted to have her again, whenever and wherever she wanted. Being outside, where they could get caught any second, added to the excitement, and it felt almost like he was hitting a high as well as an orgasm. Ethan panted beneath her, eyes open just enough to watch her as she came. She was gorgeous and one of the best fucks he’d ever had and for some reason she wanted him. Now that he had her, Ethan was determined to do his best not to let her go.
The way he bucked up beneath her drove his cock even deeper and Scarlett gasped as the tremors wracked her body. He felt so damn good and once the aftershocks began to subside, Scarlett licked her lips, smiling with satisfaction as she leaned back down to kiss him, slow and deep. Jules's hot friend had a wild side to him and that was exciting. With a small groan, Scarlett finally slipped off of him, tugging her dress back up to cover her breasts as she lay down beside him. "Fuck," she breathed, still smiling. "I wasn't really expecting that to happen but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hoping it would."
Ethan knew he should be hurrying to pull himself back together, but it was hard to care about anything when he felt so good. His tongue brushed against hers as they kissed, drawing out one last taste before she climbed off him. Now was the only time he appreciated wearing a condom, as it allowed for at least a little easier clean up. Ethan tied it off and tossed it aside before tucking himself back in so he could stretch out without exposing himself. “Me too,” he smiled over at her. “I kinda thought we’d be in the car, but this was better.” Riskier, but far more thrilling, and definitely more comfortable. “I do have an apartment. I should show it to you sometime.”
"We can be in the car next time if you want." Scarlett rolled onto her side and propped her head up on her hand. Reaching over with the other, she brushed some of his hair back. "But I'd love to see your apartment. Privacy is always good too." Although it was sexy to screw around outside and she doubted this would be the first and only time it happened. But there was definitely something to be said for being able to get totally naked with someone else. "You live by yourself?"
“I’m not complaining. I’m sure the car will get some use,” Ethan grinned. He didn’t know what this was going on between them, but if it meant he got to have sex with Scarlett on a regular basis, then he was in. Outside, in the car, at his apartment, wherever she wanted. Her touch softened his smile and he rolled on his side to face her. “Yeah, for the moment. It’s kinda nice, not having anyone to report to. And kinda weird. A roommate would be fun.” But the only person he could see living with him was Jules and he didn’t think that would happen. He needed some guy friends in Point Pleasant, but it was so much easier to find new girls to hang out with.
Scarlett smiled, because she thought his car would get some use too. And his bed. And maybe even her bed. Summer should be fun for the both of them, even if they ended up just having sex all the time. There were worse ways to spend the day. "Maybe you'll meet some more people in town and someone will be on the lookout for a room. It's cool that you have your own place though. I can barely afford gas in my car most weeks. But I guess I'll be working a bit more, now that it's summer." Scarlett leaned in to brush her lips over Ethan's. He was just as kissable as he was fuckable. "Are you hungry now?"
Ethan wasn’t sure he could’ve afforded the apartment on his own, but his uncle had been willing to help him out. It allowed him to be closer to AIR and Jules, which in turn meant that they could spend more time learning about their abilities. It was a win-win situation, as far as he could tell. He got his own space and freedom, and his uncle got his research. But he didn’t really want to get into that with Scarlett, not yet. Maybe another time, once they got to know each other better. He brushed her hair out of her face as she kissed him, humming happily before sitting up. “Yeah,” he smiled. “Now I think I could eat.” He reached for the bag to dive up their lunch, thinking he could easily do this for the rest of the summer and be happy.
Scarlett felt like they would get to know each other better as the summer progressed and that was fine with her. Right now she was just smug and thrilled that Ethan wanted her, even though it was common knowledge now that Jules was single. Then again, Jules wasn't exactly the Queen B she had been last year, so Scarlett wasn't even sure she felt much competition for attention anymore. There was Vic, but Scarlett was feeling more confident that the two of them were on equal ground. Smiling, Scarlett sat up and smoothed her dress down over her thighs as Ethan pulled their food closer. It was going to be a good summer. She was going to make sure of it.
