"I can try!" Jacob exclaimed and shifted in his seat so he could hug Sage - albeit not properly with the way they were positioned - because he might as well start now if such a thing was possible. "You might need someone stronger though," he added, his voice a little muffled against Sage's shoulder. "But I'll squeeze you as much as I can." A cuddle party sounded amazing too and it had been too long since the two of them and Joss had been out together. Maybe it was time for another karaoke night - he wasn't so sure he ever wanted to step foot in the arcade again.
Sage laughed, not expecting to be hugged on here, but he couldn’t tell Jacob no. It felt good to be held and he wrapped his arms around Jacob to return the hug. “Thanks,” he smiled, giving Jacob a squeeze. “You’re strong enough. Not gonna make you hit the gym for me.” Though guys with nice biceps were definitely a thing he liked. Sage suspected he’d have to take better care of his own body if he wanted someone who did the same, but that wasn’t enough motivation to get him to the gym most days. Or at all, lately. But he thought it was good that the thought crossed his mind. That was a start.
Jacob sporadically exercised at home but it always felt silly so it definitely wasn't often and he didn't care for the gym. So he stayed lean and got most of his daily exercise from walking or cleaning. It was working so far, being young had its perks. He laughed at the idea of Sage making him do anything, let alone hit the gym, but didn't really let him go for a while, this idea of hugging the darkness out of him stuck in his head now and he'd do his best to make it a reality. "I don't need the gym if I'm strong enough to squeeze you," he murmured stubbornly. "That's enough."
“Thanks,” he murmured to Jacob with a small smile. There really was something soothing about being held so tightly and Sage was tempted to close his eyes and just let himself feel it for a while. But no, that would be a bad idea, because it would not be soothing as soon as he disappeared and people started to freak out. So Sage worked at keeping his eyes open, aware he probably looked drowsy and drunk, but unable to give a shit. This was a little bit of an escape, something he desperately needed, and he’d take it while he could get it.
