Marshall & Sage with Jacob
Marsh hadn't been sure he'd be comfortable leaving Sage even after they found his friend and given how drunk his friend seemed to be he probably wasn't all that helpful but the way Sage's feelings seemed to have eased made it a little easier and he didn't want to be the weirdo who kept hanging around even after the encounter was clearly over. "Next week," he replied with a smile and pocketed Sage's number, shooting him and Jacob a friendly smile before moseying off to find someone else to talk to. Maybe he'd try to run into Sage again, just to check in on him. As long as he wasn't too obvious about it.
“See ya,” Sage said, leaning back into Jacob as he watched Marsh walk away. It only now occurred to him that Marsh had saved him from having a full blown panic attack in the bathroom, all through the power of conversation. Or maybe distraction. Either way, it had deterred his mind long enough for him to get back on the right track again. “What’ve you been up to?” he asked, turning slightly as he looked over his shoulder at Jacob. He could tell he’d had a few more drinks since he last saw him, or maybe it all caught up with him at once. Either way, it made Sage want to catch up so they could be blitzed together.
Jacob rested his chin on Sage's shoulder and shook his head a little. "Probably oversharing," he said. "I met this girl who was a senior when we were- not seniors. She was really nice. I think we drank too much while we talked. The cocktails here don't feel strong but they're really strong, so watch it." He was slurring his words a little and he'd reached that annoying stage of being drunk where he was uncomfortably aware of being too drunk so it wasn't really fun anymore. "Sorry if I scared off your hottie."
Sage thought that was a cue that he needed more cocktails, not less, though he kept reminding himself that this was not the kind of crowd to get drunk around. He’d already been on the verge of making a scene once; he didn’t need to risk doing it again. “I doubt you scared him any more than I already had,” he said with a little laugh. “He was hot though, wasn’t he?” He’d been the kind of guy that Sage would’ve been far too intimidated to approach in a bar, but apparently was fine having a conversation with while having a breakdown in the bathroom.
"He didn't look very scared," Jacob murmured, moving to lean against the bar before he started hanging on Sage too much. "And yeah, hot. And you got his number. I don't think this is a place where you like... Look for a music teacher." Knowing Sage was bisexual changed the game a lot, he'd sometimes thought about how fun it might be to have a threesome with him and Connor but it was in that distant fantasy way he wasn't sure would ever come true. One thing he did know was that he wanted him to be happy and flirting with a hot guy was a nice start at least.
