Re: Reza, Shane, and Zania
Reza’s cheeks got a tiny bit hot even if that comment wasn’t directed at him, but he still didn’t regret approaching Zania. He just hated how upset it had made Shane. But really, a lot of this was going to be upsetting, wasn’t it? They were kind of dealing with the biggest trauma in his boyfriend’s life, which had been pure evil science on a national scale, apparently. That was a lot to deal with. Reza just wanted to support him through it as best he could, and he honestly felt better knowing there were strong witches on their side too. “Thank you, Zania,” he said, giving her a smile too. “We can use all the trustworthy help we can get. We’ll be in touch about it all, for sure. Hopefully we can squeeze some fun in too, everybody could use it, I think.”
“Yeah, I get that,” Zania nodded, understanding why Shane wouldn’t want to approach just anyone about what they had going on. “Just so you know, the handsome black man over there is my boyfriend, Gabriel. And the tall guy in the vest that’s talking to him is my brother, Nic. I trust them. You can, too.” She wouldn’t tell them not to trust anyone else, but those were the only people she was one hundred percent sure about. She trusted the rest with a lot of other things, but this particular topic was tricky. She also knew that once a rumor started to spread, it was hard to contain it. Right now, they still had it under control. “I’m gonna grab another drink,” she said, lifting her now empty glass. “You wanna join me? Or should we catch up later?”
It wasn't hard to single out the one black guy in the room and Zania was right, he was deadly handsome. Shane gave him an appreciative once-over and nodded his approval. "We'll join you," he replied, with only a brief questioning glance at Reza. It wasn't like they knew a whole lot of people present at this party and he did want to meet Nic. "I've heard Nic mentioned too often not to say hi," he added with a little smile.
