Re: Reza, Shane, and Zania
Shane should have realized that of course Reza could handle the smoke and he felt a little dumb for not picking up on it, glad that nobody was rubbing it in his face. Then again Reza could probably snuff out a fire if it wasn't too big, just by sucking the air out of the room. "Dancing like heathens sounds fun," he told Zania with a grin. "And yeah they didn't... strike me as very concervative." He'd only met Lem and Vex once but they'd certainly been a pair, both of them a little crazy, probably with good reason. "We'd show up to a summer bonfire for sure." He wouldn't pass up the chance to hang around a big fire and he knew Reza would want to go since he would be gaining some knowledge from the whole shebang.
A summer bonfire was much more fun to ponder than burning buildings, and Reza grinned a bit at the idea. To go over to another witch’s place for some sort of party sounded like fun, more fun than being surrounded by psychics he couldn’t really relate to as well. “That sounds like a blast,” he agreed, already positive Shane would enjoy it too. Anything with a bonfire, he thought his man would enjoy. Shane could even show off, maybe test the spell to protect his clothes. “Yeah, we’ve met Vex and Lem once now. Your name came up and they seemed excited that I’d met you already. We hosted a gathering of ... people related to what we talked about before.” Reza gave Zania a knowing nod, not wanting to bring up AIR by name in this mixed crowd. He hadn’t put up a sound barrier, and kind of didn’t want to do so in the middle of so many other witches. It would probably draw attention, and he didn’t know if everyone in the room could be trusted.
“I’ll let you know as soon as I’ve gone one on the calendar,” Zania grinned. As curious as she was about that gathering and what they talked about, she knew this wasn’t the place to discuss. The existence of witches in their community often felt like an open secret to her, something a good chunk of the population knew about, even if they didn’t know specifics. AIR, on the other hand, felt like a much touchier subject, and the last thing she wanted to do was risk talking about their plans when an employee could be standing right behind them. “Yeah, we’ve become close since they moved in. My brother’s pretty attached to Lem,” she said. “We lost Vex for a few months and it kinda… wreaked havoc on our world. We can’t lose him again. Anything you need for this cause, anything, you let me know. We can do a lot more than just set things on fire. Besides, you don’t need me for that.”
Shane didn't know a whole lot about Vex going missing, just that it had been weird and that he hadn't been the only one. It was something he still needed to ask Jane about - or Vex himself now that they'd been acquainted - but there was a lot of shit going on and he had enough on his mind so it just hadn't happened yet. He did find himself wondering about it now that Zania brought it up but this was really not the place to talk about such things. "Hey, I really appreciate knowing we have some allies in town," he said with an easy smile. "I know not everyone like you is on our side, I just don't know who's working for who, you know?" That wasn't a jab at Reza for risking everything by approaching a stranger, they'd been through all that already and it had proved to be the right move - he just hoped everyone knew not to trust random people.
