Theo and Phee
Theo grinned and took her hand before turning to set his drink down on the nearest table. Then he led her out to the dance floor, happy to at least have something occupying his time while he waited for Bash to come back. "So do you have any embarrassing tidbits about Bash? Anything I can use to tease him about later?" Theo asked, one brow arched curiously as he slipped his arm around Phee's waist. "Sneaking around kind of meant not talking to your family much, so it kind of feels like now is the time to get to know him from like, your perspective."
She set her drink down next to Theo’s and let him lead her out into the swaying crowd. The song wasn’t super fast but also didn’t sound mega-romantic, so it wasn’t too weird to start swaying with him. With an appropriate distance between them, of course. His question made her laugh a bit and Phee’s face scrunched up a bit as she thought about it. So much about her brother was embarrassing to her as a little sister, but that didn’t mean it was juicy to anyone else. “Let’s see ... he’s way into musicals, but he thinks that makes him a stereotype, so he doesn’t talk about it much, but he’s constantly singing in the shower,” she said, a little grin blooming on her face. “He also loves Taylor Swift and he can play ‘Love Story’ on the guitar. He slept with a special blanket and a stuffed raccoon named Rocky until he was like ten. Oh, and he eats peanut butter straight out of the jar, it’s super gross.”
Theo couldn't help but laugh. "Those are a lot of tidbits. I'll have to tuck them away to use later. Although... I've eaten peanut butter out of the jar too. With a spoon, obviously." He wrinkled his nose. "Sorry. It probably is gross...can I just say guys are gross? Most of the time. But I promise not to tell him you told me any of this. I'll pretend to be psychic or something." Theo doubted Phee would really care if Bash knew she had revealed some silly things about him, but he was willing to have some fun with it.
Phee wrinkled her nose at that confession. “But then the spoon goes back into the jar from your mouth, and ugh, germs,” she said, giving a fake shudder. “If you start coming over, I’m totally keeping my own jar in my room.” She laughed a little, still swaying with him to the music. Greg probably did it too, because Theo was right -- guys were gross. “Don’t worry about it though, he would do the same thing to me. Greg just pretty much already knew all my embarrassing stuff from being around all the time.” He’d been like another brother to her for quite a while, but growing a crush on him had certainly changed that. “Just quit teasing him if his ears start to turn red,” she added, amused.
"You're right, I get it, but hey, to be fair, my mom doesn't eat peanut butter, so the only one getting my germs is me. But I definitely promise never to stick a spoon that's been in my mouth into any food you might have at home." Theo smiled, making a mental note about the red ears. "Is it weird? Dating your brother's best friend? Obviously not too weird since you guys are, you know, dating. Seems like Bash is pretty cool with it."
She laughed a bit, mentally fending off immature jokes about Theo sticking anything anywhere at her house. Because ew, that was her brother and she did not want to think about that in any literal sense. Phee tilted her head from side to side. “It was a little weird at first,” she admitted. “Because Greg kinda ... I dunno, until I started to like him, he was like a third brother to me, you know? But I crushed on him for a long time, so it was probably weirder for him. Bash didn’t like it much at first, but he’s come around. Now it all just feels good and normal.” She smiled with obvious affection. “So I know you’ve lived down the street for like, forever, but how did you and Bash hook up?”
