Bash & Jules
Much to her surprise, Jules was having fun. She was able to handle her friends with ease and she and Ethan were having a good time, whether it was dancing, or sitting around their table with Bash and Theo, reminiscing about high school and stupid shit they have done over the years. It had felt like it had been a long, long time since Jules had laughed that much and it felt good. Yes, there was some guilt swirling around in her gut, but she felt like she had really needed this night and for that, she would always be grateful to Ethan for showing up at her house.
When a slow song came on again, Jules stood and grabbed Bash’s hand. It was time for that dance. Mostly because she was sure they had things to talk about that would be easier without Ethan and Theo around. “Do you mind?” Jules asked Ethan, aware that leaving him there with Theo might be awkward, but it seemed like they had sports in common and stuff, so they should have enough to talk about.
"No, go ahead," Ethan smiled back at Jules. "Theo and I 'll hang out here." It didn't really matter that he didn't know the guy. He seemed easy enough to talk to and they had a lot in common, at least as far as their high school careers went. Plus, they were both outsiders, in a way. Hanging out with Sebastian and Theo was far easier than being with a big group that knew each other's inside jokes. He gave Jules a little wave as she headed towards the dance floor, sure she'd come find him when she was done.
Sebastian let Jules pull him up, then playfull blew Theo a kiss as they headed out towards the dance floor. So far the night had been pretty much perfect, but he didn't want to say anything, afraid that would jinx it. There was still time for something crazy to happen. Once on the dance floor, Bash slid his arms around Jules and they began to dance like they had so many times before. "Soooo," he grinned. "Tell me about Ethan."
Jules had a feeling Bash would ask about Ethan and she glanced over at the table where Ethan and Theo were talking before turning her gaze back to Bash. "His uncle has been helping me control things and Ethan... he's like me. I guess we're sort of connected... with the weird stuff." She had already told Bash that Ethan was from Westbridge but she hadn't gotten into any real details about their friendship beyond the basic stuff. Jules gave him a look, her lips twitching briefly. "I know what it looks like, but we're just friends. He's been really awesome for the past few months."
"Like you like he can do what you can do?" Sebastian asked, brows raising. "How'd you find out?" He knew she didn't go around telling people about what she could do, let alone strangers, but maybe they could tell, kind of like the way one witch could feel another. He'd made a point of not asking too much about her powers after everything that had happened, since it seemed like a sore subject, but now he was curious. "Well, he seems awesome. I'm glad he got you to come tonight. And he's seriously hot, so if you were more than friends, it wouldn't be a bad thing." He knew she wasn't over Jasper, and since his mom had come back he couldn't even tell her to move on, but if he didn't magically appear then hopefully she'd see that she had some good options to choose from when she wanted to get back out there and date again.
"Our dads worked together," she explained. "I guess Ethan's uncle reached out to my mom. Or my mom reached out to him. Ethan is sort of tied to what I can do. He helps me. It's easier with him, and it doesn't hurt." Jules nearly told Sebastian about the doorway near Sweetbriar Bridge. But that was for she and Ethan and it didn't feel right to tell someone else about it. She huffed a soft laugh when Bash called Ethan hot and while she understood he had only good intentions, Jules couldn't really fathom moving on right now. Jasper had only been gone a few months and that wouldn't have been fair to Ethan at all. "He's hot, yeah. And he's awesome. But, I mean, even if I felt like I could go out with someone else, we're pretty tied together now. If things got fucked up, we'd both be screwed. I don't want to do that to him." Jules glanced at their table again. "But you seem to be doing okay with Theo. How's that going?"
