Slept as in sleeping. And she wasn't sure she was ready for it now, but she didn't want to be a bitch and kick him out. She was still hoping he was going to make that decision for himself.
It had been tempting to snoop around while Bailey was in the bathroom but Max just checked his own phone instead. There wasn't a whole lot of snooping to be done in her room anyway, it was pretty impersonal in there so either she hadn't been in town long or she really just wasn't the type to make her room all cute and cozy. That was fine, Max wasn't planning on moving in or even staying the night and he got up when she got back, grinning at her as he watched her slip on that t-shirt. Women in just t-shirts were one of his favorite things to look at for sure and it always amused him how something could be so hot on a woman and just not on a guy. And that coming from someone who liked looking at guys just fine. "That's a good look on you," he murmured as he passed her, he wouldn't take long but it'd be good to clean up a little before he hit the road.
Bailey glanced down at the shirt, amused a little at the things men found sexy. To her it was just a t-shirt to sleep in. "I'm glad you like it." She huffed a soft laugh and crawled back into her bed, moving the curtains aside to open the window just above her bed. Not a lot. Just enough so that she could smoke without stinking up her room. Max's things were strewn about, but she didn't feel like going through his pockets either. She doubted he would have brought anything shady into a cop's apartment, and there was nothing really for him to steal either. Her apartment was simplistic at best, and Bailey had no concerns about Max trying to break in later to take something. "Want a cigarette before you go?" she asked Max, raising her voice enough for him to hear her.
"Nah, I'm good," Max hollered back. He could steal a puff from her cigarette before he left, he never much cared to smoke a whole one anyway. "Enjoy the view while it lasts," he muttered from the doorway as he returned and started picking up his clothes then snagged her cigarette from her fingers with a teasing grin and only handing it back once he'd taken a deep puff. There wasn't much more to say since he wasn't staying so he started pulling on his boxer briefs, eyeing Bailey as he did.
Bailey watched him with her cigarette, and she smirked softly when he handed it back. Despite the small crack of the window, the room was getting chilly fast so she focused on finishing up her smoke while Max got dressed. His eyes were on her, and she had to imagine it was the whole t-shirt, bare leg aesthetic. For a brief moment Bailey considered asking him to sleep over, because then she could enjoy a quick morning fuck before asking him to take her back to her car. But... there was a good chance she would wake up in a horrid mood and she generally didn't like dealing with people as soon as her eyes opened. "You gonna be okay driving back?" Bailey asked, leaning over to put the cigarette out in the ashtray on her nightstand before reaching up to close her window.
"Always am," Max replied flippantly and that probably wasn't the best thing to tell a cop but he seriously doubted she was going to bring him in on a DUI now, she hadn't asked him to spend the night or asked him to take a cab home so this was on her too - in his mind anyway. "You gonna be okay by yourself?" he asked, turning it back on her somewhat teasingly as he pulled on his jeans. It was getting chilly in there and it was tempting to crawl back into bed so dressing had to happen fast at this point but he had no idea where he'd ditched his shirt.
Bailey settled back against her pillows, a slow smile curving at her lips. "Oh, maybe. I hope so, anyway." She knew he was probably teasing her, but that was okay. She had been married for a while, and she had only recently started realizing how nice it was to sleep alone. Sure, there were times she missed being pressed against a firm, hot body, but those feelings were fleeting. Bailey folded her arms under her breasts and watched Max. "Maybe next time you'll get to cuff me instead of the other way around."
