"I know." She didn't know that, of course, but Jules didn't want to say that they were both screwed. She wasn't going to get all pessimistic and defeatist. All they had to do was find someone who might know what was going on. There had to be someone, and she would find out who that someone was. Jules held back the urge to sigh, her hand sliding into his hair. "Why don't we lay down on the bed for a while. You can sleep if you need to." Jasper was tired and she was pretty sure if they didn't move, he would fall asleep there on the floor with his head on her chest. At least if they were on the bed she would be comfortable.
That was probably a good idea, even if getting up was a daunting one. It just seemed like so much effort, especially when he was so close to horizontal. “Yeah, okay,” he said, though he still didn’t sound too happy about it. “Just a short nap though, I wanna be with you.” Sleeping together was really nice but he didn’t want to waste their whole evening doing it. Not to mention, part of him still wanted to have sex with her. Jasper tried to get the whine out of his voice but it didn’t work out so good. He forced himself to sit up with a little groan and turn, then more climbed up onto the bed rather than stood up. Jasper got settled, his eyes mostly on Jules.
"You are with me," Jules pointed out, even though she knew he meant sex too. A part of her already knew that wasn't going to happen. Not with how lethargic he was. Maybe he would get another bout of energy, but Jules kind of doubted it. He sounded like a little boy who was sick with that little whine in his voice but Jules managed not to smile at the sound of it. It was cute, but also, not because Jasper wasn't just sick. Something was really wrong. Jules got to her feet, watching Jasper make his way onto her bed. Once he looked comfortable enough she crawled onto it herself and laid down with him, her arm slipping over his stomach. "Better?"
“No, but I mean like ... awake with you,” he clarified in a mumble. He shifted a bit as she stretched out next to him, scooting in closer, feeling clingy and needy. Luckily, Jules didn’t seem annoyed with him or anything, so he didn’t think she would mind much. “Yeah,” he answered once they were totally settled. Already he felt the pull of sleep, the unnatural exhaustion pushing him down into Jules’s soft mattress. Jasper only wanted to sleep for an hour or so, but it felt like his body was going to have other plans. “I love you,” he murmured, tired eyes on Jules’s face. He moved his face forward a tiny bit in a wordless request for a kiss. “Thank you for like, being awesome.”
She knew what he meant, but she wouldn't push it. If he woke up later feeling more energized and still horny, they could try and be together before her mom got home. If not, it wasn't the end of the world. Jules looked at him and smiled softly. "I love you too." She pressed a kiss to his lips. "And being awesome is in my nature, you know. It's just who I am." Her tone was light, just so he would know that this was okay. It hadn't taken her long to get over her arousal frustration at all, especially with the black cloud of something potentially being wrong hanging over the both of them. "Get some sleep and we'll see how you feel when you wake up."
“Ain’t that the truth,” Jasper mumbled about Jules being naturally awesome. It was true. Sure, they drove each other crazy sometimes, but that was just being in a relationship, right? They were there for each other when it counted, as much as they could be, and that was the most important thing. He nodded a little at the last part, his eyes already closing. Jasper hoped a nap would set everything right again and he would feel okay, it had been a rollercoaster of a day. He meant to say something else, maybe repeat that he loved her, but within seconds Jasper was sinking into sleep.
