Who: Sebastian
Where: Deep in Blackwater Woods
When: January 6 - January 7
Status: Complete
The last thing Sebastian remembered clearly was stepping out of the shower Friday evening and pulling on a clean set of clothes. He’d been standing his bedroom, wondering to himself if the being that had possessed him was still there, when the world had turned over and he’d gotten his answer. By the time he thought to call out and issue some kind of warning to his mom, he was gone, sinking into a darkness that blotted out all time and thought.
The next time he blinked into consciousness he was standing in the forest, a large fire built before him. He walked around it and tried to look for a way home, but there was darkness all around, no sign of life anywhere in the near vicinity. Candles had been setup at the perimeter of the circle and there seemed to be some kind of magical dome that kept the heat in. He was trying to figure out what to do when he saw a figure move towards him from outside the circle, a shape that might have been human, but also filled Sebastian with a new, untapped sort of fear. Just as it started to come into the light, he could feel himself getting swept away again.
He was laying on his back the next time he came to, the sun high in the sky this time. He didn’t know why he had these moments of clarity and began to wonder if this time might be the last. She was clearly stronger than him, whoever she was, but she couldn’t seem to keep him knocked out forever. Or maybe whatever she was doing to make him blackout was wearing off and then she’d just do it again. He’d probably never know.
Sebastian sat up, then froze, unable to process the scene before him. There was blood everywhere, such a bright red on the snow covered ground. His arms were covered in it from the elbow down, but the source was nowhere to be found. All that remained was a heart, pierced through the center by a long wooden stake. Sebastian took a step towards it and it came to life, pumping a fresh spray of blood out onto the snow. He had time to wonder what sort of creature it was from, pray it wasn’t human, then he was pulled into the darkness once more.
Then it was twilight and he was kneeling in the snow. There was an empty cup lying on the ground beside him and he picked it up, the scent causing a wave of nausea to hit. He took several deep breaths, trying to fight it off, but with each breath the scent grew stronger. Sebastian pitched forward and vomited black sludge into the snow, emptying his stomach entirely. He’d only just started to breathe again when she took him again and this time he was thankful.
Now it was dark again. The fire was low this time, but the warmth of the circle kept him from freezing. He wondered what time it was. What day it was. Saturday night, maybe? Sunday morning? It could be Tuesday for all he knew. He took a deep breath, this time waiting for oblivion, when he felt something pulling him away. It was the weirdest sensation because there was no specific direction, not towards the fire or into the forest, just away. A fresh wave of panic began to flood through him when he glanced at his hands and saw that they were starting to fade, that he was no longer wholly there.
And then Baron pulled him under again and it was her problem to deal with, not his.
