That made Knox feel warm all over again. He would’ve been content to be at Shayna Mae’s beck and call at every second of the day, shadow her around everywhere if that was what she wished. Knox wasn’t too surprised that she wanted him to continue to be free though, that was just in her nature. “I appreciate that,” he said softly. “Just know I will always come when you call, as swift as possible, day or night. I am yours and you are mine, and I’m so happy you wanted this with me.” He kissed her bare shoulder, gazing at her lovingly.
Reaching up, Shayna Mae ran her fingers through some of his hair, letting it glide through her fingertips. "I know you will," she murmured. "And I love you." Knox would always be there, she had no doubt about that. He would be loyal to them no matter what happened, though Shayna Mae couldn't foresee a future without him in her bed. She had never been one for cliches, but she felt as though she was glowing. Her body had never felt more alive, her heart full and bursting of Knox. This was a new year and a new start. They had a lot of darkness headed their way, but she felt more equipped to handle it with him by her side.
