Re: Greer and Max (and a tiny cameo by Dev)
Max certainly wouldn't mind but he wasn't the straightest of men so that probably didn't count. This sort of asked the question he hadn't asked, about whether they were all together or not. If one of the guys was bi, odds were they were a real triangle and his fascination only grew from there. "If he tells me I have pretty eyes I'll be flattered," he murmured as he followed her. "And I love being flattered." Didn't everyone? If it didn't ring hollow at least, flattery without a follow-up request was good for the ego and Max could for sure use that sort of positivity in his life right now. Prison had been rough, a lot of closing up emotions and acting tougher than he was. This was relaxing and good and he was drinking it up like a parched man in the desert.
"I'm glad," Greer said as she led him into the kitchen. "Because I just can't understand why anyone would be offended by a compliment, even if it was coming from someone of the same sex. I mean, I suppose it depends on the compliment, and how it's delivered. I try to watch myself sometimes if I can tell flattery makes someone else uneasy. But pretty eyes deserve to be told they're pretty. You have a nice smile too, if I can say so without it sounding like I'm trying to butter you up."
"Girl like you can butter me up any day," Max murmured and lightly rested his hand on her back as they entered the kitchen where her boyfriend - or one of them - was rambling animatedly with one of the other guests in a thick Irish accent. So that was hot too and Max's grin just grew.
Dev twirled around as soon as he noticed Greer come in, putting a finger up to the other guest to indicate he was just taking a moment before sauntering over to give her a kiss. "Heya lovely," he said, his words a little slurred. "And who's this pretty thing?" He gave Max an appraising one over and seemed to approve. "I don't think we've met." He held his hand out for Max to shake - which he did - then leaned in to rub his nose against Greer's cheek.
"He is pretty, isn't he?" Greer said, grinning when Dev nuzzled her. "This is Max. He's here with the little blonde, the big man and the shaggy haired one. Shayna Mae, Knox and Aidan." Her arm snaked instinctively around Dev's waist. "Max, this is Dev, one of my handsome men." Greer pressed a kiss to Dev's cheek before turning her lips toward his ear. "I was thinking about taking him somewhere private for a bit. Would that be okay?" She was being discreet, but also loud enough for Max to hear, since he would obviously want to go with her. Maybe he would prefer to stay out in the crowd, drinking and making small talk, but Greer figured it was Christmas time and Christmas time was a time to spread all kinds of cheer.
Dev's eyes lit up at the mention of Knox and his opinion of Max appeared to skyrocket. He looked him over again, licking his bottom lip and smiling. "That's okay with me," he murmured, never one to limit his lovers' in their pursuit of knowledge or pleasure. He took his eyes off Max and looked at Greer again, his expression shifting from interested arousal to pure warmth. "You have a good time, love."
Max felt like he'd hit the jackpot. These people were insane in the best of ways and this was the warmest sort of welcome home cheer he never would have even thought to wish for. Maybe that just showed how limited his imagination was but damn. Whatever these two shared - or three, really, since they were with Rost - seemed like a dream come true and that they were willing to share? Even better. He was already wondering where to take her but he wasn't very familiar with the Castell house so they probably had a bit of a scouting mission ahead of them.
"Thank you." Greer smiled and pressed a kiss to Dev's lips before she turned toward Max, her hand outstretched for his. "Want to explore?" She didn't know this house at all beyond the few rooms she had already been in, but it was large and she doubted anyone would miss them if they disappeared for a bit. Surely there was an empty, convenient room nearby.
