Sebastian and Logan
Logan could still hear the music, in a dull sort of way. Sound probably traveled pretty easily through these houses with the high ceilings. He caught the 'when we were together' bit, but didn't ask about it. He wasn't surprised to hear Sebastian McCarthy and Jules Cooper dated. Logan knew enough about that group of people to know it was probably expected. But if Sebastian was gay now, it made sense that Jasper was okay with the guy still hanging around Jules. He grinned a bit at Sebastian's question. "I know Jasper, and she's with him, so I guess I know her indirectly. I came here with Jasper tonight. Dunno if you'd call that crashing or not, but I was invited, at least."
In his inebriated state, it didn’t even occur to Sebastian that Logan didn’t know about him and Jules dating. It was one of those things that it felt like everyone knew, the people in his circle of friends so up in everyone else’s business that private details sometimes felt like public domain. “It’s not crashing if you’ve got an invite,” he smiled, not surprised to find out Logan was friends with Jasper. They seemed like the kind of guys that might get along. It made him wonder a bit why he hadn’t seen Logan before now, but he supposed that was because their circles didn’t always mix. And Logan was a year ahead of him, wasn’t he? Sebastian led the way up the back stairs, then slowed as he came to the first door. He put his hand on the doorknob, then turned, grinning when he found it unlocked. “Wanna check it out?” he asked, cracking the door open.
Logan was sure if he had stayed in Point Pleasant for his senior year, he would have probably known or heard about Sebastian and Jules. Even if he didn't care, it was hard to avoid gossip in such a small school. He always assumed people knew he and Jasper grew up together, but Logan realized that if he didn't pay attention to anyone else, they probably didn't pay much attention to him either, especially since he wasn't exactly Mister Popular. The only people who probably even realized he had been sent away for an entire year was Jasper and his parents. No big deal. He motioned at Sebastian with his cup. "Let's see what's behind door number one." Hopefully it was empty, though there was always something fun about interrupting certain private activities. When Sebastian opened the door Logan could tell it was someone's bedroom, but it was empty. And it was definitely not Jules's room. "She got a brother?" Logan asked, stepping inside and setting his cup down on the tall dresser against the wall.
While being caught fooling around might’ve embarrassed Sebastian, he was just drunk enough that catching someone else would have tickled him. The room was empty though, so he followed Logan inside, getting a better look at a room he’d only ever seen from the doorway. “A step-brother. Jason. He’s our age, but… not really the party type,” he said, taking another swig from his drink before setting it on the desk. “You’d think everyone would like a good party, but I’ve never seen him at ‘em.” He was pretty sure Jason went out of his way to avoid Jules and her friends, so a party at his house wouldn’t have appealed to him. There was always a chance he could have been hiding out in his room, but lucky for them that wasn’t the case tonight. Realizing that he was now alone with Logan, with a door between them and the rest of the party, Sebastian’s heart started to beat faster. “You got any brothers or sisters?” He didn’t really care, but it was easier to talk than to figure out what he should do next.
