Who: Sadie and Open When: September 8th, Evening, shortly after the football game Where: The streets of Point Pleasant
Being a teacher at the high school, Sadie did her best to show her school spirit and attend as many of the events as possible. Sports, plays put on by the drama club, pep rallys, etc., etc. She enjoyed them, for the most part, because while she didn't have much of an ego, Sadie knew she was popular among her students and she liked when they sought her out to say hello, or talk for a bit, even outside of the classroom. But once Ms. Gaines was finished for the evening, she reverted back to Sadie and enjoyed what little time she had for herself. Like tonight, after the football game was over, Sadie walked back to her car while everyone else headed out. Some home, some to Moxie's... she had no real plans for the rest of the evening, which was probably for the best.
The only problem was that her car wouldn't start up. Sadie turned the engine several times, listening to it putter and then fall silent. Sighing, she rested her forehead on her steering wheel for several moments before reaching into her bag for her phone. She considered calling Tatum, but she knew her sister would be out with her new boyfriend. There were plenty of others she could call for help, including her cop ex-husband, but Sadie ultimately decided against it. She called the auto shop and found they were already closed - which made sense given the time. In a small town like this, a tow truck would take a while to get there. She would just have to leave her car until morning, when the auto shop reopened and could come get it for her.
Getting out of her car, Sadie locked the doors and slipped her shoulder bag strap over her head to rest it against her body. She started walking home, decked out in jeans, a long sleeved Chamberlain Wolves t-shirt, her jacket and Keds. Her shoes were comfortable enough, and she knew the town well enough to know where she was going, and how long it would take her to get there. It was a chilly night, but not unbearable. There was the faint scent of rain on the wind, coming off from the ocean, and Sadie was betting it would storm later. She wasn't scared to walk home alone. It was a Friday night and still technically summer, so people were out and about. Most people would be down at the harbor, or on Main St., but Sadie wasn't completely alone on the street. She just had to watch out for large, rabies infested dogs apparently.
