Ophelia had never really talked to her father about boys. Nor her mother, for that matter. There hadn’t really been any boys in her life to talk about except for crushes that parents didn’t want to hear about. But given how cool her mom had been about this relationship with Greg, she didn’t think her dad would freak out or anything. He might not approve for the long run, but at least he knew Greg wasn’t some druggie criminal kid or something. So Phee wasn’t really worried. She thought it was kind of cute that Greg was, though. She got dressed again and stepped in front of his mirror to fix her hair, then turned and smiled at him. “Ready?” she asked.
"Ready," Greg replied as he finished pulling on his hoodie. "Just need to get Aurie's leash and we're good to go." First things first though he thought and closed the distance between them to pull her into a hug and a kiss. "I think it's upstairs but we can leave that way too. You ready to go?" She fit so nicely in his arms that he didn't let her go right away. They were still talking anyway, right? Right.
It wasn’t like Phee was eager to go, but she did need to get home in the near future, and she knew if she kept lingering, she would overstay and get in trouble. Her mom had been cool about it, but she didn’t want to push her luck. Still, she slid her arms around Greg and gave him a squeeze. “No, but need to,” she murmured, burying her face into the base of his neck for a moment. He smelled so good, she just wanted to live in his hoodie pocket. She sighed as she pulled back and gave Greg a smile. “At least I get to see you tomorrow?” she offered as consolation.
"Yeah," Greg replied and kissed her again because he was unable to resist that. "Come eat lunch with me." He let go of her reluctantly and pulled back, then took her hand and led her outside. "Aurie!" he called out, waiting as the small dog jumped off the couch and came padding over to them. "You wanna go for a walk?" Greg asked and then laughed. "He's the only dog who won't go crazy when he hears that word but don't let it fool you, he likes going out. As long as we carry him half the way."
Phee laughed at that, kind of looking forward to watching Greg carry the tiny dog around, then gave a fake huff and put her hands on her hips. “Uh, I like to be carried too, so I hope you can handle both of us,” she teased. She was well aware that Greg probably couldn’t pick her up at all, which just made it funnier. Phee waited for him to get the leash on the dog, then went back upstairs and out the front door with the two of them. It was chilly out, but in that brisk way that she liked, and she hooked her arm through Greg’s and hugged it to her side. “I’m excited to go to a dance with you,” she said with a little grin.
If she had voiced her doubts, Greg might have gone in full fledged testosterone driven frenzy to show her she was wrong. He was really strong, he knew for sure he could lift her and it didn't even occur to him that she might think he couldn't. She might be heavy but they didn't call him the Bulldozer for nothing. She didn't say anything so he just shrugged because yeah, he could handle the both of them. Aurie weight next to nothing. They had to walk slowly when they were out because of Aurie's stubby legs and curious nature but Greg was happy about that this once. He was in no rush to get Phee home and she lived way too close so the walk would have been very short otherwise. "It's going to be awesome," he replied with a little grin at her. "And then the bonfire and fuck, I hope you can come to my place after. I wasn't joking about sneaking you out if I have to."
