Who: Mila and Aaron
When: Evening, Tuesday, November 7th
Where: Mila’s home in Seaview
Warning: turns NSFW
Status: Complete
Training at The Boathouse had been fine. Kind of dull and routine, but Mila could tell by the end of her ‘shift’ that she would make good money there if she didn’t fuck up. It was one thing to get a few bucks, occasionally a bit more, from people who had been drinking for hours, but it was another to do a good job and get twenty percent, or more, stacked on top of an expensive bill. Mila left the restaurant to drive home, already thinking ahead. If she liked the job, and the people, if she worked hard enough, she could do more than just waitress. She could become an assistant manager, or the manager someday, and maybe make enough money to move the hell out of Seaview into a nicer home in Point Pleasant. Maybe with Aaron, if he stuck with her that long.
She got home shortly after six o’clock, pulling into the gravel drive alongside her house. It was still raining and the skies were dark when she turned off the car. The dull clicking of her engine as it cooled down was swallowed up by the sound of rain pounding against her windshield. Mila sat there for a few moments, watching the cascade of water run down the glass in front of her. She could feel herself start to zone out, hypnotized by the pattern the rain created, and the sound of it, soothing despite the knowledge that she knew she was going to get soaked in the six seconds it would take her to rush from her car up onto her porch.
Sighing, Mila rested her head back against the seat and closed her eyes. Maybe the rain would let up in a minute or two and she could get inside without getting soaked to the bone. Maybe Aaron would see she was home now and drive over and have an umbrella. Maybe--
A cold breath seemed to graze her neck and Mila’s eyes shot open quickly, her hand lifting to her throat where her fingers brushed over the chilled spot of her skin. She twisted in her seat without thinking to look into the back of her car, but no one was there. Still, her eyes scanned the back floorboards, the seats, looking for what, she didn’t know. The sound of the rain pounding against her car seemed to dull, as if she had covered her ears to block it out and in its place was a soft throbbing, almost like a heartbeat. Only it didn’t stay soft for long. It began to grow in volume, and intensity until it sounded like a heavy fist pounding against a metal door. It got louder in her ears, faster, until Mila panicked and grabbed her purse from the passenger seat before thrusting open the car door to get out. She all but stumbled out in her haste and Mila slammed the car door shut, the pounding in her ears gone. Her clothes were quickly dampening and sticking to her skin and Mila walked quickly to the porch, digging around in her purse as she went to find her house keys. Breathing heavily, she opened the screen door and after a couple tries with trembling fingers, shoved the key into the lock and turned it. Mila immediately turned the porch light on and shut the door, locking the deadbolt and the knob. Like that would keep whatever had been in her car with her out.
The house was quiet, but for the hum of the refrigerator and Mila walked to the thermostat to turn on the heat before turning on the lamp beside the couch. It didn’t look as though Aaron had been by and Mila had to resist pulling out her phone to text him to come over. She was just shaken up, and he would probably come by soon anyway.
Mila spent the next twenty minutes slipping out of her wet clothes and climbing into the shower. She turned the water on as hot as she could physically bear it to try and get the chill from her bones. She rubbed the spot at her neck where she had felt the cold breath - no, not breath, draft. Breath implied someone had been in the car with her. Mila ducked her head under the spray and felt a bit of relief that the rational side of her brain was speaking up again.
After her shower, Mila got dressed in a warmer pair of pajamas and ordered a pizza. She didn’t really care that the delivery wait time was over an hour. There wasn’t much in her kitchen to cook and frankly, she didn’t feel like cooking anyway. Taking one of Aaron’s beers from the fridge, Mila sat down on the couch and curled up her feet beneath her. She meant to turn on the television, but she merely sat there and stared at the dark tv screen, the cold can in her hand and resting on her bent knee. The rational part of her mind that had spoken up in the shower tried to warn her that she was zoning out again but Mila ignored it, content with sitting there alone for the time being until the pizza arrived.
Hanging out with Amelia had been ... incredible. Aaron could still hardly believe it, but it had been her. She knew things that only Amelia could’ve known, the same stupid jokes made her giggle in the same way they had when she was smaller, just in a deeper voice. They’d had a great afternoon out together with the dogs, in spite of the rain. They’d even had a brief interlude when it wasn’t coming down to let Max and Rude tear around the beach while they walked and talked. Aaron had promised to teach her all kinds of things, like shooting and to drive a stick. If her dad and her brother didn’t get to those first, that was.
After he’d dropped her back off at Gavin’s, Aaron headed home -- or rather, to Mila’s. He knew the good news couldn’t spread too far, or the wrong people would hear and there would be trouble, but Mila was family. He loved her, and he wanted to tell her that the course of at least one horrible disaster had been diverted. It was still weird and it was still sad that Amelia had lost a huge chunk of her life, but she was alive and back home and that meant everything would be better. He pulled the truck up behind Mila’s car and got out. Aaron was already pretty damp, so he didn’t even rush through the rain to the front door. The porch light was on, but the house seemed quiet on the inside, so he didn’t go barging in. Aaron had shut the door behind him and turned when he spotted Mila on the couch. “Oh ... hey,” he greeted, a little startled.
Mila blinked in surprise when Aaron spoke and her gaze shifted to him as she rapidly tried to remember what she had been doing. It took a second before she remembered pizza. She had ordered pizza. Had it come yet? It didn't feel like that much time had passed and she wasn't sure where her phone was to check the time. Had Aaron been working? She couldn't remember what his plans had been for the day. Mila unfolded her legs from beneath her and leaned forward to set the beer down on the coffee table. "Hey," she replied with a small smile. There was a sense of relief rising in her at the sight of Aaron, like he might somehow be her tether to reality. "Have you eaten? I ordered a pizza."
It didn’t look like she’d been asleep, but Aaron’s mind just chalked the quiet up to Mila reading or something. He was too full of news to really notice that she’d only had a beer in her hand, not a book or her phone. He crouched down where he was to unlace his boots and get them off, then took off his damp jacket to hang up. “Uh, no, not for a while,” he answered her question. He’d had some snacks with Amelia, but that had been a while ago. Pizza would be good. Aaron went to the couch to sit down with her, giving her a little smile as he took her hand and met her gaze. “How are you?” he asked first, wanting to check in on her before he launched into the crazy good news. He had been too distracted to check in with her much, but he hoped she’d had a decent day.
She watched him take his shoes and jacket off, her gaze locked onto every movement until he was sitting down beside her. Mila had to resist clinging to him, but her hand tightened around his once he took it. His hand was a bit clammy from being outside, but it felt strong and she clung to it instead. Mila wanted to tell him about what happened in her car, but something held her back. The feeling that it would just worry him, and it was probably all in her head anyway. So she returned his small smile with one of her own. "I'm fine. Training went well. I was hoping to get out of town with Roxy this weekend, but they have me scheduled, and I need the money, so... but the people were nice. I think it'll be a good fit for me. How was your day?"
Oh right, The Boathouse training. Aaron nodded, glad to hear that she’d liked it there, at least so far. He wanted her to have a job that made her happy, even if it sucked that he wouldn’t get to see her at work anymore. That had been the case for a while, but Aaron missed her. He wasn’t going to say that though, because it was more important that Mila be comfy where she was. He rubbed his thumb against her knuckles, too distracted to notice how tight her grip on him was. “It was uh, kinda amazing,” he answered with a bright grin, sitting forward a bit. “I’ve got some good news. It’s kinda hard to believe, but y’know ... what isn’t, anymore.” Aaron shrugged one big shoulder and huffed a small laugh. “But I’m on board like, one hundred percent, so bear with me, okay?”
Mila's brows rose in mild surprise because when was the last time either of them had a day they could describe as amazing? But Aaron did look happy and she braced herself for whatever he was about to tell her. If it made him happy, it would make her happy too. Or she could at least pretend to be happy, as not to sour the mood. It didn't register in the least that 'hard to believe' might mean she would be skeptical because Mila knew first hand that the 'hard to believe' crap was usually true. "Okay," she said, looking curious now. "What's going on?"
Aaron squeezed Mila’s hand a bit and tried to tone down his excitement a notch or two. He had to be ready to talk her through the ‘wtf’ of it all -- she didn’t have the benefit of having Amelia in front of her or knowing her as well as Aaron did as her uncle. “Amelia’s back,” he said. “She came home Sunday, but she ... looks different. She’s older, around Jasper’s age now, she said she was somewhere else for a long time, to her. And I know how that sounds, but it’s really true. She knows stuff only Amelia would know, and the cops did a DNA test on her before she even went home, and she’s definitely Gavin’s. I didn’t really believe it at first when he told me, but I just went and spent some of the day with her, and it’s so her, Mila. Just older.”
Mila said nothing at first. She merely stared at Aaron and digested the information presented to her. Yes, that was definitely hard to believe. But so was what had happened to them both in that tunnel. And what had been happening since. Mila had been born and raised in Point Pleasant. A lot of stuff that was 'hard to believe' was rationalized away with shaky explanations that everyone was willing to accept, because the alternative was too terrifying to seriously consider. Now she was being told that 'somewhere else' existed. Somewhere time moved differently. Could she believe that? Mila thought about the tunnel, and how most people were too frightened to venture inside too deeply. How no one could see the light at the other end, even on the brightest of days. Somewhere else definitely existed. There were probably a lot of 'somewhere elses' out there. She realized she hadn't spoken yet and Mila blinked, coming back to the present where Aaron was sitting there, holding her hand. "Is she changed?" Mila asked quietly. "Different? Not just physically.... but in other ways?"
The blank stare didn’t really surprise Aaron -- it was kind of Blank Stare news -- but it seemed to stretch on for quite a while. He’d been about to say something else when she seemed to come back into herself. Aaron still didn’t see any of the pleased delight he’d had himself, but he guessed it was harder to believe without proof staring her in the face. “Uh ... I don’t think so,” he answered after giving it some brief thought. “I mean, besides seeming older too, and she’s probably kind of traumatized, she seems like the same Amelia. Sweet and loving, and just really happy to be home. She said the other place was dangerous and hard to live in, and there were a few other people there too, but she can’t remember it too well now, like it’s fading like a bad dream, you know? Which might be best for her, I dunno. But no, she didn’t seem different, deep down, from what I saw.”
How was that even possible? Being ripped from family, and a world she knew, taken somewhere else. Any adult would have been traumatized by it, let alone a nine year old girl. But Mila wondered if maybe Amelia was putting on a happy front to keep her family from worrying. Even so, something like that had to change a person. Again, Mila had to refocus her thoughts to keep from slipping too deeply into them. There were so many questions in her mind, but Aaron wouldn't be able to answer any of them. Amelia probably couldn't either, if her experiences had begun to fade away. "You really believe it's her," Mila said. It wasn't really a question, given Aaron's demeanor, but in a way she just needed affirmation from him that Amelia was who she said she was. Her family would know better than anyone else, Mila included.
Aaron had his concerns about Amelia too, but he had a feeling those would be dealt with once the happy shock wore off. The whole family was first and foremost thrilled to have her back. Well, he and Gavin and Jasper were, Aaron didn’t know yet about Caden. Caden didn’t get thrilled about much of anything. He nodded, smiling reflexively again and giving Mila’s hand a squeeze. “I really do,” he said. “I know it sounds fucking bonkers, but I just ... recognized her. Like any family you hadn’t seen in a while, you know?” Nine years to her was more than ‘a while,’ of course, but Aaron could see Amelia’s face in the girl’s face. “Oh here, look,” he said as he remembered he’d taken a couple of pictures with her. He let go of Mila to dig his phone out of his pocket and brought up the gallery, scooting in closer so he could show Mila the selfies they’d taken in the truck, waiting for the rain to stop. One was all smiles -- and Max’s head over their shoulders -- one was goofy faces, and Aaron had snagged a candid one of Amelia looking out the window. “She looks more like Gav now,” he murmured with obvious affection.
Mila nodded along, because she understood what he was saying. It was just so strange, this entire thing. She looked down at Aaron's phone and realized she might have said how much the girl looked like Amelia had she not already known it was Amelia. "Wow," she murmured. Obviously Amelia was the focus here but Mila was struck by how happy Aaron looked too. It made her chest feel warm, and at the same time, had her wishing she could get out of whatever funk she was in so she could be the reason he looked that happy again. Mila was happy for them, she really was. She was relieved that Amelia was back, and that she was more or less okay. At the same time, she felt the emotion well up in her chest and throat and her eyes began to burn as she stared at the photo in Aaron's phone. "That's great," Mila said hoarsely. She cleared her throat quickly and nodded. "It's really great, Aaron."
Enamored as he was with gazing at his returned niece, it was impossible for Aaron to miss the gravel in Mila’s voice. He looked over at her face, his brows drawing together. She didn’t sound like she thought it was great, and he knew it was hard to believe, but it wasn’t sad, it was the opposite, so something had to be wrong. “What’s wrong, baby?” he murmured, putting his phone down on his thigh so he could take her hand again. It occurred to Aaron late that was probably a stupid question -- even with Amelia back, there were a lot of things wrong -- but it was out of his mouth now, and he didn’t want to assume.
Mila shook her head and swallowed hard as she tried to find the right words to explain it to him without sounding... selfish. "It's nothing. It's just... I'm so happy Amelia is back. I just wish..." Mila trailed off and looked at Aaron a bit desperately, hoping he would understand without her actually having to say it out loud. Mila knew losing the pregnancy was not as gut wrenching as potentially losing a child who had been born and been living her life, but it still felt heavy on her shoulders. She just wanted it to go away, along with everything else weighing her down. "I don't want to be a downer," Mila murmured. "I feel like that's all I've been lately. I'm sorry."
Aaron thought he maybe understood. She was still sad about the baby. Gavin had gotten his miracle and had his child returned, but the two of them never would. He’d had the same bitter thought himself, before he actually saw Amelia. While he was hanging out with her, he hadn’t been able to think about anything else, but that buoyancy was coming down now. “You just wish we had ours back too?” he suggested softly, though it wasn’t really a question. Aaron slipped his arm around Mila’s shoulders and pulled her in closer to hold her. He kissed her head. “You’re not a downer, don’t say that. You’ve been through a lot and you feel how you feel. I get it, I kinda felt the same way when Gav told me. I’m happy she’s back too, but it’s not fair.”
Mila nodded, relieved that he seemed to understand. It was probably stupid to cling so hard to something she never really had, but it felt like as soon as she started to feel semi-normal again, something happened to send her right back into the dark emotions she had been drowning in over the past few weeks. It was like she just couldn't claw her way out. Mila rested her head against him and closed her eyes. His arm was solid around her and she breathed in his scent, wanting the familiarity of it to ease the turmoil inside of her. "You're going to be a great dad someday," Mila murmured. "I'm not sure of a lot of things right now, but I know that much."
He hated that she was upset and hurting so much, but Aaron admittedly got some pleasure out of the way Mila leaned on him. He didn’t feel like he could do much for her at all, but he could do this. Try to let her know that she was loved and supported, even if he couldn’t really fix anything. It made him feel useful, and he needed that. Aaron slowly stroked his fingertips against her arm as he leaned his cheek against her hair. Her words had his eyes opening again, and Aaron felt something tighten in his chest. It was a thing he hadn’t even really known he wanted, but he did, so bad. “And you’ll be a great mom,” he murmured back, giving Mila a gentle squeeze. “Best mom in the world.”
There was lingering doubt there, something deep seated that made her feel like it wouldn't happen. It made her uncomfortable and she brushed it off, not wanting to feel anymore maudlin over this entire thing than she already had. "Thank you," Mila said, lifting her chin just enough that she could press a kiss to his jaw. "Someday, right?" They hadn't planned on getting pregnant the first time around, but maybe in the future, if they decided to stay together, it could happen again. When they were better prepared anyway, so his family couldn't make them feel like shit about it.
“Someday,” Aaron agreed with a tiny smile. He personally had no doubt that they would stay together, and probably get married eventually and then have as many kids as they wanted. He loved Mila, and he was pretty sure Mila loved him back, and what else did you need? Aaron moved his free hand to gently put his fingers against her jaw, tilting her face further upward so he could kiss her. He kept it light and soft, but he lingered in it, trying to put feeling through the physical connection, wanting her to understand all the things he didn’t have good words for. Things had been hard, really hard, but Mila was a light to him, and he wanted for her to be okay and for them to be okay.
The reassurance was something Mila needed, given how often she woke up with doubts lingering in her mind. There was always a voice warning her that this wouldn't last, that Aaron would get bored and find someone else. Her insecurities sometimes overwhelmed her, and it had gotten worse lately. But she felt good again with Aaron's arm around her, and his lips on hers. Shifting a little in his arms, Mila brought her hand up to slip her hand around the nape of his neck, not pushing or deepening the kiss, but just wanting to touch him while he touched her. Everything about Aaron was warm and solid and familiar, which was probably why the cold breath against her neck again made her shiver violently as she tore her mouth from Aaron's to look behind her. Her heart had leapt into her throat again, but there was no one there.
Aaron was settling into that intimate, warm feeling, letting it permeate through him and light up the spots he’d been neglecting. It wasn’t a passionate kiss, but all the emotion was starting to arouse him. But then Mila jerked away and that feeling shattered. Aaron’s heart jumped too, and his eyes popped open. He thought for a second that he’d hurt her by accident somehow, but Mila was looking behind her. Aaron looked, his arm tightening around her automatically, but there was nothing to see. “What?” he asked breathlessly.
Her skin felt chilled in that moment and Mila's gaze scanned the empty room, half expecting to see something. Like in the car. And now she wanted to climb back into the hot shower to try and warm her skin all over again. Her heart was racing again but Mila turned back toward Aaron and smiled faintly before shaking her head. "It's nothing. I thought I heard something, but it might have been the ice maker." Bringing her hand back up to cup his face, Mila pressed a soft kiss to his lips again. "I'm sorry. I think I'm just feeling overly jumpy lately."
He hadn’t heard anything. She looked a little shaken, and Aaron’s brows were knitted together, but what could he do but accept that answer. “S’okay,” he murmured. They’d had plenty of reasons to be jumpy, Aaron guessed. And sad. He kissed her gently again, lingering a bit longer, his hand resting against her upper chest. “Want me to stay over?” Aaron didn’t want to assume it was always a given; he wanted to make sure she knew that he would leave her alone for a night if she wanted it. He didn’t want to, but it wasn’t his space they were always in. Aaron just wanted to take his jeans off and cuddle up to Mila in bed and talk soft to her while she fell asleep.
The question prompted a small smile from Mila and she brushed her thumb along his jaw before lowering her hand to rest on his thigh. "Of course I do." It seemed like a rare occurrence these days that Aaron didn't stay at her place. It wasn't like they were on top of each other every minute of the day, so it didn't bother Mila in the least. In fact, she felt more secure when he was around. Less afraid of... something she couldn't really describe. Maybe once the pizza got there they could eat and watch a funny television show or something and then she could wrap herself around him in bed all night. Mila nuzzled him for a moment before pulling back to open her eyes and look at him. "I want you to stay every night."
Aaron gave her a little smile back at that, lightly stroking his fingers against the base of her neck. He wanted to stay every night too, but he didn’t want to make Mila sick of him. That was one of his biggest worries. Now that all of the stuff with the pregnancy was over -- besides the grief, of course -- and Amelia was back home, what if everything settled down and she decided she didn’t want him now? That he wasn’t what she thought he was? It wasn’t stuff he liked to think about, so he tried not to do it now, focusing instead on Mila’s words and how pretty her eyes were. “Me too,” he murmured, just so she knew, his lips quirking up as he softly kissed her again. “You said pizza was coming, right? Think I’ve got time for a quick shower?” He probably still smelled like dog.
"It should be here any minute, but you can shower," Mila told him. "There are some clean clothes in the bedroom." He changed the subject so abruptly that Mila hesitated, wondering if he didn't really grasp what she was saying or if he had and didn't want her to actually ask. She nearly decided to just let it go and approach it again another night, but the thought of the next night she might have to sleep alone without Aaron prompted her to speak again, if a bit reluctantly. "You could, you know... stay every night if you wanted to." It felt like a clunky way to ask him to move in with her, but it wasn't as if she had experience in this kind of thing.
The implication that he could move in had sailed right over Aaron’s head. Sure, he was staying there a lot, but that didn’t mean Mila wanted him around on a permanent basis. He’d had lots of girlfriends he’d stayed with often, since his place was such a mess most of the time, and they hadn’t wanted to keep him around forever. Granted, he’d cheated on a few of them, but whatever. He didn’t plan on doing that anymore. So he looked kind of surprised when Mila made herself more clear, then grinned a bit sheepishly. “Really?” he murmured, searching her eyes. “Like ... really move in with you?” Aaron didn’t think she would joke about that, but he wanted to make sure he understood.
There was relief that Aaron seemed to catch on and Mila wouldn't have to spell it out for him. His question prompted an easier, more genuine smile from her and she nodded. "Yes, I mean if you wanted to. I want you to, but... I don't want you to feel pressured to say yes or anything. But you're already here a lot anyway, and I like having you here. We could... move things around to make room for your stuff. Whatever you wanted to make it feel more like home, you know?" She wasn't overly attached to a lot of her own things, and Mila sort of held onto the hope that someday she would be able to afford a nicer home with more space for a family. Someday.
Aaron had never officially lived with a girlfriend before, but it sounded pretty damn good to him right then. He got lonely a lot when he was single, and ended up annoying his brothers with hanging around all the time, but living with a woman he loved seemed like having a built-in best friend to go home to. He could take care of Mila better that way too, pay some bills for her, take some stress off. Maybe she would feel better. “No, no pressure. I like bein’ here,” he murmured, smiling brightly back. Aaron leaned in to kiss her again, with some more enthusiasm this time. “If you’re sure you want me here, I’d love to do it. Make it like ... official and stuff.” Maybe it would help prove to everyone that he was still committed to her, too.
Mila exhaled as relief flooded her body. She had been afraid he might say no, or that maybe he was doubting their relationship already and moving in would have been a bad idea. But Aaron looked happy and for the first time in the past few weeks, Mila felt pure joy blossom and spread within her chest. It seemed to dampen the darker spots in her mind, at least temporarily. Maybe whatever was lingering would go away with Aaron around more. It was probably silly of her to think that way, but she hated the nights she slept alone, despite how few and far in between they were. "I want you here," Mila assured him, cupping his face with both hands now and kissing him again. "I love you."
He didn’t think he’d seen her smile like that in a while, and Aaron couldn’t help but grin back. He felt all melty inside when she held his face like that, and his arm slipped further around her waist. Aaron lived to hear that he was wanted and loved, and he knew already that he wouldn't spend another night at his trailer. He wasn’t sure what he would do with it now, but that would come in time. He could figure it out. For now, he pressed his lips back against Mila’s with emotion rising in his throat. “I love you too,” he whispered between kisses. “So much.” Aaron pulled her in tighter against him, already wishing they were naked in bed together. He was hungry, but he wanted Mila even more.
As Aaron kissed her, Mila suddenly thought about her parents, and what they would say once they found out she was living with a man before she was married. Aaron Lucas, of all people. She wasn't even sure they knew the two of them had been dating. They certainly hadn't known about the pregnancy. Her mom was going to flip out. But the near certainty of disapproving Catholic parents wasn't enough to deter Mila. She was happy, and that was all that mattered in the moment. "Go take a shower," Mila murmured in between kisses. "The food should be here by the time you finish." And maybe they would eat before the urge to get Aaron naked again took over. Her appetite for food had shifted into wanting something else and thankfully it wasn't motivated this time by the need to hurt someone.
At this point? Aaron didn’t give any more fucks about what anyone else thought of their relationship. Mila’s parents could fuck off, his own parents and his brothers could fuck off -- he was happy with her, in spite of the tragedy swirling around them. If they wanted to move in together and eventually get married and pop out fifteen kids, that’s what they would fucking do, and anybody who didn’t like it could suck his dick. Metaphorically, of course. He grinned a little against Mila’s lips, then kissed her again. “If pizza wasn’t comin’, I’d drag you with me,” he murmured to her, just so she knew. Maybe they could get naked and then have pizza. Whatever order it came in, nakedness was going to happen. Aaron lingered at her mouth for another moment, then grunted at himself and pulled back. He stood up and adjusted the semi-erection in his jeans before he headed back toward the bedroom and master bath. “Love you,” he added, glancing at her over his shoulder before he disappeared.
Mila wondered how pissed off the delivery guy would be if he rang the doorbell and they just didn't answer. She would much rather be in the shower with Aaron getting warmed up in all the right places. But... they would need to eat eventually and she didn't have much in the way of groceries. So she let him go, her cheeks warming as he adjusted his crotch. Mila bit softly into her lower lip and then smiled as Aaron headed toward the bedroom. As soon as she heard the water pipes start to hum in the wall, Mila stood and picked up the warm can of beer she had never opened but left on the table. She carried it to the fridge to place it back inside and jumped as the doorbell echoed in the small trailer. "Jesus," she muttered, closing the refrigerator door and grabbing her purse from the table to dig around for a few bucks to tip the guy.
She had just found a five dollar bill and was about to answer the door when the doorbell went off again. "I'm coming," Mila said, exasperated as she pulled open the door. Whatever else she was about to say died on her tongue as she stared out the screen door to no one. The porch was empty and Mila heard and saw nothing but the rain still pouring outside, pounding against her car and Aaron's truck in the driveway. Mila stepped outside and looked up and down the street, but there were no cars driving away and no kids who might have just rang the bell and ran. Mila glanced back at the doorbell, supposing it could just be faulty, but it still left an uncomfortable feeling in the pit of her stomach. She was about to step back inside when she heard a car coming down the street and after a quick look, Mila spotted the Dino's sign attached to the top of the car. So she waited until the guy parked, recognizing him as Davey Franks, a guy who had been a few years ahead of her in school. Managing a small smile, Mila waited for him to bring her pizza up to her through the rain and made some brief, polite small talk before saying goodbye and heading back inside with the door. Mila shut the door and locked it, tensing as she waited for the bell to ring again. But there was nothing but silence. It sounded like Aaron was finished with the shower, so Mila left the pizza on the kitchen table and wandered into the bedroom to find him. "Pizza is here," she murmured, slipping her arms around his waist, hoping that her hands weren't too cold from how long she had been outside.
Aaron heard the doorbell faintly over the running water, and he just assumed that it was the pizza guy, and Mila was taking care of it. He didn’t linger too long in the shower, just got clean and mostly dried off before he padded into the bedroom with the towel around his waist to find something to wear. Mila appeared before Aaron actually put anything on, and he tossed the sweatpants in his hands onto the bed so he could hug her back, smiling faintly. She did seem slightly cold, but he didn’t think much of it, rubbing gently at her back and upper arms as he pressed kisses to her forehead. “Awesome,” he murmured, pulling back enough to give her a little smile. “You wanna eat now? Find something fun to watch, maybe?” Things were feeling a bit more normal to him tonight, and it was a relief. He wanted to make the most of it and do whatever Mila wanted to do.
Food was the last thing on her mind at the moment. Yes, the idea of curling up with Aaron and watching something mindless on the television was incredibly appealing, but Mila was craving something else more. She leaned in to nuzzle his chest before pressing kisses against his skin. He was still a little damp from the shower, but warm and she felt a desperate need to get rid of the chill that had settled in her own body. Mila's hand gripped his towel to pull it away from the lower half of his body before she lowered herself to her knees in front of him. He wasn't hard yet but she could take care of that. He smelled clean and familiar and Mila began to glide her tongue over the length of his cock. All she really wanted was normalcy tonight, to try and push away everything haunting her mind. Being with Aaron like this would be enough, she was sure of it.
Mila only answering with kisses gave Aaron a hint that chilling wasn’t what she wanted to do, but he was still surprised when she tugged his towel off and dropped to her knees. They hadn’t been having much sex lately and Aaron’s body reacted immediately, his cock starting to swell at the feel of Mila’s breath and lips and tongue against it. He stared down at her dumbly as his brain caught up to what she was doing, then he licked his lips. He felt a tiny flare of doubt, but Aaron definitely wasn’t going to stop her. Letting out a heavier breath and a wordless murmur, he slid his fingers through the sides of Mila’s hair while he watched her tease his cock awake.
She knew how strained things had been over the past couple of weeks, although Mila felt like that was more her fault than Aaron's. She was the one feeling off and withdrawn, and she knew the last time they'd had sex it had felt strange and disconnected in a way. At least the beginning of it. But Mila wanted Aaron to know how much she appreciated that he had stuck by her anyway, and that she did love him. Her hands smoothed up and over his thighs until she was gripping the back of them, her lips and tongue giving Aaron's cock the proper attention that it deserved. He was getting hard for her now and Mila moaned softly as she took the tip between her lips to suck it gently. He was too large for her to take him fully into her throat, but that didn't mean she couldn't worship every inch in other ways.
Aaron hardened further between her lips, that sweet little suck sending hot arousal flashing up his spine. God, and she looked so fucking pretty like that, too. It didn’t take him long to get rock hard, and he hoped Mila took her time, because he wouldn’t have much stamina tonight. At least not for the first round. Aaron stroked the sides of her face, his chest rising and falling quicker. He really hoped she was doing this because she wanted to and not out of worry about depriving him or something, but he was too distracted at the moment to give it much real thought. Everything she was doing felt so good, and feeling good had been in short supply lately.
Mila definitely wanted to do this, although admittedly she had felt a little 'deprived', sexually, though that wasn't exactly Aaron's fault. Things were what they were, and it had been a rough couple of weeks for them. Her sex drive hadn't really been awake except for that one afternoon in the kitchen. Mila took her time, her fingertips massaging the muscles in his thighs before she drew one hand around to cup his balls gently. She continued to take his cock into her mouth, inch by inch, swirling her tongue against the taut skin until she couldn't take anymore. Mila sucked softly, opening her eyes to peer up at him. His face was flushed in the best kind of way and finally the lingering chill in her bones started to dissipate. Arousal began to overwhelm it, heat pooling between her legs as she watched him.
The eye contact really added so much to it, and Aaron felt his insides go all stupid-melty and fluttery at the same time. He kind of wanted a picture of that, Mila looking up at him with his thick cock in her mouth. “You’re so fuckin’ beautiful,” he murmured softly, his cock flexing against her tongue. She might not have been able to take all of it, but it was more than enough, and he had to clamp down on the instinct to start thrusting. He wasn’t going to be happy with just his own pleasure, he planned to make sure Mila was fully satisfied too, but he couldn’t pull away from what she was doing just yet.
They had been together for awhile now and Aaron had complimented her plenty of times since, but Mila still felt a pull in her chest whenever he called her beautiful. She had never had the strongest self-esteem, even as an adult, but Aaron never failed to make her feel beautiful. Moaning in response, Mila began to suck with more enthusiasm, not wanting to tease him for too long. She loved the way he tasted, how hot and heavy he felt against her tongue. More than anything she loved how he held her head, the way his fingers moved restlessly in her hair. Mila could always tell when Aaron was holding back, and she could feel how the muscles in his thigh tensed against her hand. It was intoxicating and she had to resist slipping her hand into her pajama bottoms to touch herself.
If he’d known, Aaron wouldn’t have been able to wrap his head around Mila not knowing she was beautiful. It seemed as obvious as the sun to him. And that she was way too good for him, but here he was, getting a fantastic blowjob from her. Life was hard, but it did have its perks along the way. Aaron was going to cling to this good thing for as long as he could. Mila’s mouth felt divine and he let out a deep groan as she picked up the pace. He brushed her hair back and gathered it in one hand at the back of her head, not to guide her but keep it out of the way and hold on while more intense pleasure spiraled through him. His balls drew up tighter to his body, and Aaron’s head rolled back, his eyes closing briefly. Fuck, it was good, but he definitely didn’t want to come yet, so just another couple of minutes ....
As soon as Aaron's head tilted back Mila's eyes closed again and she brought her hand around to curl her fingers around the base of his cock, holding it as she drew her mouth back to suck and lick at the tip again. She was awash in arousal and desire and there was no voice in the back of her head urging her to indulge in something darker than what she really wanted. For the first time in weeks Mila felt like herself, and she didn't want to do anything to ruin that. She released his cock and lifted his cock just enough for her to lick and suck gently at his balls before Mila got to her feet, her hand still wrapped around his cock. Her nipples strained against the thin material of her t-shirt, her panties felt damp between her legs. Slipping her free hand around his neck, Mila drew his mouth down to hers to kiss him deep.
Aaron hissed a breath in through his teeth as Mila lapped at his balls, and his hands slipped from her hair down to her hips as she stood up again. He kissed her with a sense of urgency, his body hot and his cock throbbing with every quick heartbeat. Pushing on Mila’s hips, Aaron guided them toward the bed in small steps, not breaking the kiss until he felt her have to stop at the edge. He wanted to be inside of her so bad, but there were clothes in the way. Aaron finally pulled his mouth back so he could pull Mila’s shirt up and off of her body, then dropped to one knee to tug her pj bottoms and panties down the length of her legs, pressing kisses against her thighs. “Lie down,” he murmured, glancing up at her once her clothes were all off.
Aaron's kisses never failed to turn her on, not that she needed much help with that right now given the aching throb between her legs. She clung to him until she felt her bed behind her legs and Aaron released her to get her clothes off. The cooler air on her naked body caused her to shiver for a moment, but Mila was too transfixed on Aaron to care much. Her hand ran over the top of his head, fingers dipping into his short hair before she shifted back onto the bed, scooting back until she could lie down comfortably, her gaze never leaving his.
She went a little too far, but Aaron didn’t hesitate to grab Mila’s hips and drag her back in closer to the edge of the bed, still on his knees. Sex had been lacking, yeah, but he couldn’t even remember the last time he’d gotten to bury his face in her pussy, and he planned on doing it now. Aaron guided Mila’s thighs over his shoulders and slid his hands to her waist to hold on as he stroked his tongue slowly up her pussy, letting out a soft groan as he reached her clit. He teased at it with his lips, his thumbs stroking against her skin. She’d already been hot and wet, but he wanted to make her as hungry for him as he felt for her.
Mila couldn't help but grin and release a faint giggle when Aaron tugged her back to the edge of the mattress. The giggle quickly became a moan as Aaron's tongue slid between her folds. Mila arched her back slightly and slid her hand around the back of his head to hold him gently. Everything throbbed deliciously, and while she was craving having him inside of her, Mila was more than okay with this little delay. It had been awhile since they had taken their time and really enjoyed one another, and maybe this was just one more step back to normal. Despite how heavy her eyelids felt, Mila kept them open to peer down at what Aaron was doing, wanting to watch every second.
Aaron loved how encouraging that hand felt against his head, like she was holding him there to worship her body. That was what he felt like he was doing, at least. Aaron groaned against Mila’s flesh, flicking his tongue softly over her folds and suckling here and there. He’d always enjoyed giving women head but there was something special about doing it for Mila. Like he could stay down there for hours and not get bored or impatient. Like he could just get her off over and over and be perfectly happy jerking himself off with his tongue inside of her. Aaron just wanted to make her happy however he could. He slid his hands lower to squeeze her ass while he sucked at her clit.
Another slow moan formed in Mila's throat and she tried not to move too much against his mouth. Her free arm lifted above her head where her fingers curled into the blankets. It was a relief to be there, aroused and distracted from everything that had happened over the past couple of weeks, and everything that had happened today. All she could think about was how Aaron felt. How his hands gripped her ass and the way his tongue and lips drove her crazy in the best possible way. She was starting to feel alive again, on fire instead of numb and cold inside and Mila never wanted it to end. She had already been aroused before Aaron took her clothes off and buried his face between her legs, but now she felt like she was dripping for him, her moans becoming louder as the pleasure grew more intense. Mila breathed his name, torn between wanting to drag him up to her so she could come around his cock instead, or just letting him push her over the edge right then and there.
He adored listening to her, knowing that he was the one pulling all of that noise out of her, making her moan like that. Making her forget her troubles and herself and just relax into pleasure for a while. Her folds felt so swollen and soft against his lips, Aaron felt like he was feasting on something divine. He could tell she was getting closer from the way she was moving, how taut her ass felt in his hands, how hard she was breathing. He considered staying where he was, getting her to come all over his mouth, but something strong in Aaron’s chest wanted to be closer to her. With one last flick to her clit, he pulled back, letting Mila go and wiping his mouth off with one forearm. He stood up and leaned over her, sliding his arms around her back and dipping in to kiss her deeply. Aaron only had to adjust his hips a couple of times to find the right spot, then slid his cock into her heat with a low groan.
Mila had been teetering right on the brink of her orgasm, so it was delicious torture when Aaron pulled his tongue away from her. The intense throbbing between her legs subsided a little, but there was no whine of protest or disappointment. Instead, her arms opened for him and Mila immediately wrapped around his body as he covered hers. Lips parted, she kissed him deep, tasting herself on his tongue even as he slipped inside of her. Her moan of pleasure joined his and she didn't think there was any feeling better or more intoxicating than the way her body stretched and adjusted to his size. She was more than ready for him and Mila lifted her hips to draw him in even deeper. Her fingertips pressed against the small of his back and she opened her eyes to look at him, instinctively squeezing her body tight around his cock.
That first thrust was always fucking delicious, and it took real effort for Aaron to hold still after it, at least for a few seconds. He wanted to make sure she came, and while he thought she was probably close, he might as well relish it while he could, right? There was something different about this time than the last, it was ... warmer. Mila seemed there with him, like she used to be, and Aaron held her gaze with his own hazy blues, loving how all her limbs were wrapped around him. He butted their foreheads together to stay close as he drew his hips back, then slowly pushed back into all that tightness. “Fuuuck, you feel so good,” he breathed, brushing his lips against Mila’s again. “I love you.” Toes digging into the carpet, Aaron started to thrust, hard and deep but still slow, because he was teetering right on his own edge.
Mila felt present, enveloped by Aaron and the heat radiating from his body. The chills had subsided and the only shivers she felt now were caused by the sound of his voice and the way his lips felt against hers. "I love you," Mila murmured back, tightening her legs around his waist and lifting her hips to start meeting his thrusts. She could already feel her orgasm starting to rise inside of her again. Aaron seemed to be hitting just the right spot with just the right forcefulness. Gasping softly, her head fell back against the bed and her eyes closed as she arched into him, fingers pressing more sharply into his skin. "Just like that," Mila said breathlessly. "Please." She had no idea what she was begging for, only that she was so close and she couldn't bear it if he stopped.
The way she moved with him made Aaron’s spine tingle in the best way, and his balls felt hot and tight against his body, ready to burst. He didn’t want it to end, he wanted to stay right there, holding her tight and fucking her for the rest of the night. It unfortunately didn’t work that way though, and the way Mila was reacting to him pushed him forward. He could feel her tightening up further around him, and Aaron started thrusting a bit faster, his breathing getting ragged as he desperately tried to hold back. God, he’d missed this, missed feeling this close to her, this caught up in one another, doing the one thing he was certain he was good at for her. “Yeah baby,” he breathed, the muscles in his core working hard now. “Come with me, c’mon ...”
God, she loved it when he talked to her during sex. Mila didn't care if he was being sweet or filthy, there was just something in his voice that drove her crazy. Sometimes she was pretty sure he could get her off without ever touching her. All he would have to do was speak until she was nothing more than a puddle at his feet. Right now Mila could tell by the way he was moving against her that he was on the brink himself, that he was waiting for her to get there first. So Mila let go, concentrating on nothing more than her own orgasm, straining against him so that he hit just the right spot over and over until she was suddenly helpless to do anything more than cry out as pleasure wracked her body uncontrollably. Knowing that Aaron wouldn't be too far behind, that he was fucking her bare and would spill himself into her only made things that much better.
Fucking bareback had been what had gotten them into their predicament in the first place, but Aaron hadn’t given it a second thought. Mila was his and he was hers and after so much darkness and confusing pain, all he wanted was to be as close to her as possible and feel loved. He did, right then, like he was flooded in it as Mila’s body bucked under his, clenching and throbbing around his cock in a way that always blew his mind. Groaning in harmony with her cries, he couldn’t slow down to ride her through it, everything felt too intense and good. Aaron kept pumping until he peaked as well, right behind her, fucking her hard for a shaky couple of heartbeats, a strained deep cry escaping him too as he came. He pushed his throbbing cock in deep, shuddering as his body emptied itself into Mila. There was nothing that felt like that, it was like coming home, and it pulled at the emotion in his chest and made him tighten his hold on Mila.
The way he continued to fuck her through her orgasm only intensified the pleasure to the point where it bordered on being painful. But Mila welcomed it, her soft cries trailing off into heavy gasps and pants until Aaron finally found his own release and tensed above and against her. It felt as though her entire body was floating and Mila clung to him, breathing hard against his neck until it felt like she could move. Not that she really wanted to. She would have been more than fine with laying there, wrapped around Aaron, until morning. Pressing her lips against his skin softly, Mila finally unlocked her ankles from around his waist and she lowered her feet to the bed. To say she was sated would have probably been an understatement. Bringing her hands up to cup his face, Mila drew his mouth back to hers where she kissed him deeply for a moment until she needed to breathe again. "I love you," she whispered against his lips.
Aaron relaxed slowly, something in him taking longer to let go than usual. He didn’t want to move, didn’t want to pull out of her, wanted to stay right there in that moment for the rest of his life. He knew in his brain that sex didn’t make everything better, that they weren’t out of the woods, but it did feel better than it had. And while that was a good thing, it still made him kind of want to cry, like he’d been holding back on purging more than he knew. He kissed Mila back with real feeling, gently pushing his softening cock more firmly into her to keep it there as long as he could. Aaron knew he needed to move so they could get comfortable and he could actually lie down, but he was reluctant. “I love you too,” he whispered to her, keeping his eyes closed for a moment. “So much.” He kissed her again, then nuzzled his face in against her neck and squeezed her while he breathed in her hair. “Never wanna let you go again,” he mumbled.
Mila didn't mind that Aaron hadn't pulled out of her yet. She liked feeling his weight on top of hers, and like Aaron, there was something about the sex this time that felt like it had before they lost the pregnancy. It wasn't unfeeling on her part, or desperate. Or maybe there had been a touch of desperation, just for different reasons. A soft breath escaped her when she felt him push into her again, the dull, rhythmic throbbing of her body still sensitive from her orgasm. Closing her eyes, Mila rubbed her ankles against his hips. Her lips curved softly as she lost herself in the feel of his heart beating against her chest. "You don't have to," she told him, a hint of amusement slipping into her tone. "We can probably get around like this if you think you've got the stamina to carry me everywhere." She understood what he was saying, though, and it made her chest feel tight with emotion. She had been so scared of losing him after they lost the baby that Mila realized this was the first time in a long time she felt confident in their relationship, and in Aaron. He did love her. He wouldn't abandon her now.
He huffed a laugh at that particular mental image, and Aaron lifted his head to kiss her gently again. “Only if you wear a skirt all the time,” he murmured with a tiny grin. “Easy access.” He would just never get anything done again. At the moment, that admittedly sounded like a good deal to Aaron, silly as it was. He pressed a few more soft kisses to her lips and cheeks, then made himself move. Aaron pulled out with a little groan and pushed himself up and back to stand up straight again. He stretched his hands toward the ceiling and heard his back crack in that satisfying way, then rolled his neck as he gazed down at Mila. His beautiful woman. “You need anything?” he asked her while he was upright. She could rest as long as she wanted. “Water, snack, washcloth?” Aaron trailed his fingertips down the length of her thigh, unable to stop touching her completely.
Mila watched as Aaron stood and she tried not to think about how acutely she felt the loss of his weight against her. She had felt safe with her body wrapped around his. Not that there was discomfort or uneasiness at the moment, but Mila couldn't help but feel the urge to reach for his hands and tug him down to her again. She resisted and rested her hands on her stomach instead, her lips curving into a small smile as she let her gaze fall over his body. He was gorgeous, all that muscle and taut skin. Even soft, his cock was still impressive. Mila shifted up onto her elbows then and her smile relaxed. "We've got pizza," she reminded him. "We can probably heat it up a bit in the oven if you're still hungry." They could wash up, get dressed and then eat some dinner and watch some mindless television. Mila couldn't think of a better way to end the night.
“Oh yeah,” Aaron murmured with a sheepish little grin. He’d kind of forgotten about the pizza. That was much harder to eat in bed, so maybe pampering Mila while she was under the covers wasn’t in the cards tonight. At least not until later. That thought just made him want to crawl up under sheets and part Mila’s thighs to eat her out again, so Aaron set that aside for a possibility later. As it was, cleaning up and relaxing with some greasy pizza sounded perfect, so Aaron offered her his hands to help her up. “C’mon, let’s get comfy and stuff our faces,” he added, sounding pleased with the idea. Some food, some snuggling and relaxation, maybe one more round of orgasms ... all of it sounded like icing on this cake of a day.
