Sebastian & Mak
Mak hadn’t really expected to have a great time at Victoria Chapman’s house, but a badass Halloween party was a badass Halloween party. She knew she looked fucking great in her sharp pinstripe gangster suit, and she’d managed to keep her fedora on for most of the night, even if it was warm sometimes. Sabrina looked hot as fuck too, in Mak’s humble opinion, and tossing that in with alcohol meant that they’d snuck off a few times to make out here and there. Which felt kind of wonderful for more than the obvious reasons: Victoria had been mean to Mak in the past, it was great to happily feel up her girlfriend in that bitch’s house.
Sabrina had gone off to the bathroom or something, and Mak had made her not-quite-steady-but-very-happy way back to the kitchen to get another drink. She was bobbing her head along to the music and feeling good. Once she had her refill, Mak turned to slip back out into the party and almost ran face-first into a pirate’s chest. “Bash!” she cried with a laugh, holding her cup out of the way so she wouldn’t spill. “Hey!”
Despite not being able to hang on Hunter, Sebastian was having a fantastic time. He’d had drinks with just about everyone, hedging him closer to drunk than just tipsy, and he’d spent some time on the dance floor before deciding he was too hot and needed a break. He’d ditched his jacket for the moment, putting it somewhere that he’d hopefully remember, leaving him in the leather pants and a flouncy shirt that laced up the front, the laces mostly unfastened. Still burning up, but better. And in need of water. He was just wondering if he could conjure it himself when Mak ran into him and he grinned, forgetting his objective entirely. “Hey, Mak!” he grinned, wrapping her up in a quick hug. “You look great!”
Mak hugged Sebastian back with her free arm, still grinning. At the compliment, she made an exaggerated ‘sexy’ face, winked, and tipped her fedora to him. “Here’s lookin’ at you, kid,” she said in a pretty pitiful accent, then laughed again. “You look great too!” Mak glanced him over, and he did look good. Hunter was probably beside himself. Mak figured she ought to go find him soon and make sure he wasn’t completely melting with frustration. “Having fun swashbuckling around?” she asked with a grin. Not that she thought Sebastian McCarthy ever didn’t have fun at parties.
“Ooo, sexy lady,” Sebastian grinned, laughing softly. He’d always thought that, if he were straight, he’d go for the super feminine girls, but he could just as easily see how Mak was attractive. Not to him, but that was fine. She wasn’t into him either. “Most definitely. I feel like I need a sword, but then I’d have to hold onto it. I had a jacket, but I put it down somewhere,” he grinned. “What are you up to? Want to help me hunt down a room with locks?” He’d told Hunter he’d look for some place, but so far he’d failed. All he’d done was manage to walk in on a couple that definitely wasn’t dressed, which made him a bit weary about picking locks that were already engaged.
“Yeah, I had a tommy gun, but I stashed it pretty early on,” Mak lamented, looking regretful for only a moment. It had better be in the closet where she’d stuck it whenever it was time to go, too, or Mak was going to be irritated. “Plastic gets heavy and annoying, dammit.” Then she grinned at Sebastian again. Mak had to bite her tongue on teasing him about why he wanted to find a locked room, since there were people around them. “Just drinkin’ right now! So poke around Victoria’s house? Yes, please.” She gestured for him to lead the way, amused and ready to help her bestie hook up with his handsome man. And to tease said handsome man whenever there were fewer pairs of ears around.
