Re: Jules & Sebastian
“We’ll have matching black eyes,” Sebastian said with a little smile. Something had hit him in the face, but he didn’t know what. That wasn’t what gave him the concussion, luckily, or it could have been worse. “Yeah… going to the hospital means calling out parents. I mean, they’re probably calling everyone’s parents, but…” He shrugged. He didn’t really want to deal with them. His mom would be upset and his dad...his dad would likely be pissed. Not at him, thank god, but that he’d been put in danger. And Sebastian just wanted to go home and crawl in bed. “I lost my phone, too. I’m trying not to freak out about it.” He’d been texting Hunter. What if a new text came in and someone saw it? Fuck…. “Greg’s okay. He’s also got a concussion. I have a newfound respect for seatbelts.”
"Yeah, you're already bruising," she said, studying his face. "But I'm glad you and Greg are okay. I mean, besides the concussions. Those really suck. My brain feels like it's about to explode." Jules drew Sebastian's coat more tightly around her to fight the chills racing through her body. She sighed loudly at the thought of her mom showing up at Mercy. She'd probably be more concerned about Jules's face bruising than any concussion or whatever. "I should have tried to find it but they were moving everyone off the bus so fast. Ugh, this sucks." Without thinking she leaned over and rested her head on his shoulder before closing her eyes. "I just want to go home and go to bed."
“Yeah, mine too,” Sebastian said. “Guess second string’s gonna get a chance to play next week. We’ve got at least four of our starters benched for sure.” If this was what pro players went through on a regular basis, then he was glad he wasn’t planning on playing in college. It felt like someone had taken a hammer to the back of his head and he could almost see the throbbing when he closed his eyes. “Greg tried to find mine for me, but neither of us were in a condition to be crawling around the bus. You probably weren’t either. Even more with your wrist.” Sebastian wrapped his arm around her when she leaned in, something that had always been comfortable and easy. “You can rest for a bit if you want,” he told her. “I kind of napped on Greg.”
Ugh, she didn't even want to think about next week's game. At least it was a home game and they wouldn't have to take a bus anywhere. "By the time I was up and moving, they were already on the bus herding people off," Jules muttered. It was dark behind her eyes, but she could still see the flashes of the quiet sirens from the ambulance and cop cars. Sebastian was comfortable and warm so she didn't protest when he told her she could rest. They would have to be up and moving any minute now, and just thinking about having to ride to Mercy and wait around for a doctor exhausted Jules even further. Her lips twitched a bit, however, at the mental image of Sebastian sprawled over Greg, snoring. Obviously it probably hadn't been like that, but still. "I bet he loved that," she said. "But I've always figured if you ever needed a guy to take a nap on, Greg would be it. He looks pretty comfortable."
“You blacked out?” Sebastian asked, concerned. He’d had a hard hit, but had at least tried to move within seconds of the crash. Not that he’d been very successful. He was mostly glad that he hadn’t been sick, or had a full fledged panic attack. He had Greg to thank for that. “Like a giant teddy bear,” he said with a little laugh. “Not really my first choice, but definitely comfy and warm and familiar.” Hunter would have been his preference, but he thought he’d have too many butterflies to nap, should he ever get the chance.
