Jules & Sebastian
Jules was still feeling a little disoriented after the paramedics helped she and Sera off the bus. It didn’t seem as though anyone was seriously hurt but for both the bus and truck drivers, and one ambulance had already taken them away. There were a lot of people milling about, the police and other paramedics checking her classmates to determine who could go back to the school on the second bus, and who would have to be taken to Mercy to be checked for concussions, among other things. Bags were taken off the bus, but she hadn’t been able to go back to look for her phone that had fallen out of her hand when she fell, though someone had told her the rest of the bus would be searched and any remaining belongings would be returned to the school after the investigation and clean up.
She wanted to be annoyed - what if her phone was broken? How would she call her mom? - but Jules was feeling a bit too numb to whine about it. She sat in the back of one of the ambulances as a paramedic checked the knot that had formed on her temple where she’d smacked her head on the floor. Her wrist had already been wrapped up and while they didn’t think anything was broken, she still had to get it X-Rayed.
After the paramedic patted her on the shoulder and went off to check someone else, Jules remained where she was, shivering a bit in the cool, night air, her gaze shifted from each sides of the road, like she was half expecting something to come crawling out of it. Jules knew she ought to feel safe with so many people there, cops and the like, but she didn’t. It was too hard to explain why, and she wrapped her arms more tightly around her to fight the chills that had started to overwhelm her. Jules gaze landed on a familiar mop of red hair and she exhaled softly when she saw Sebastian walking toward her. “You okay?” she asked, once he was close enough.
Sebastian had fallen asleep against Greg for a bit, missing Jules when she actually exited the bus. When he’d finally opened his eyes again, he’d immediately gone to find her, needing to do something more than sit and wait for them to head to the hospital. Having a concussion put him on that list, but he wasn’t sure if Jules would be and he wanted to at least check in with her before the bus left. Hopefully she wasn’t hurt too bad, though when she saw her sitting with her wrist wrapped, he began to worry. “Hey,” he said, moving slowly, but still moving as he came over and sat down next to her. She looked cold, so he took off his jacket and offered it to her. “Relatively speaking, yeah,” he said, not nodding his head. That still hurt a bit. “Got a concussion, so I’ve got to go by Mercy. What about you?”
Jules thanked him when he handed her his jacket and she slipped it over her shoulders, too cold to decline it. "Same," she said with a faint smile as she motioned to the bruise forming on her temple. Everything was still throbbing, though she supposed she ought to be thankful she hadn't thrown up yet. "They want to x-ray my wrist, but the guy said he thinks it's just sprained. The last thing I want to do is go to the hospital, but I guess, like, we don’t get a choice. And I can’t get to my phone to call my mom either. Is Greg okay?" She had seen him earlier, but it wasn't like they had all had time to check in with each other.
