Sebastian and Greg
Sebastian had been in celebratory mode, singing aloud to the song that played on his phone for everyone within five feet of him. He was stretched out on the seat, his bag down where his feet should have been, his back up against the wall. At least, that’s where he started. There was a bright flash of lights, the sudden jolt as the kids closer to the front of the bus screamed, and then he was falling out of his seat and onto the floor of the bus. His head hit hard against metal, pain shot up his shin as it made impact with the leg of the seat, and his phone shot out of his hand. Chaos broke loose and all he could do was try and hold on.
Greg was on the other side of the hall and the impact didn't send him flying anywhere but it did feel like something was trying to crush him against the the seat in front of his and then his head hit the window. There was a moment of complete disorientation, he heard screaming and Sebastian was there in front of him one second and gone the next leaving him dumbfounded, confused and in sudden pain. It felt like minutes but it was only seconds before he was scrambling up out of his seat, the jolt of pain in his arm, neck and the back of his head not stopping him. "Is everyone okay?" he heard himself say as he took in his surroundings. "Bash!" He wasn't even sure what had happened yet. A crash? His brain suddenly decided they'd driven off a cliff or something but that didn't seem right. It was too dark outside to really see anything and the only lights within now were the emergency lights. "Bash, you okay?" he said followed with a little hiss of pain. He'd managed to cut his arm on something and there was blood everywhere. Gross.
It felt like the world had been knocked sideways, gravity pulling them down towards the front of the bus. Sebastian groaned and tried to move, but the bags on the floor from the seats behind him had all piled up against him, making it difficult. Somewhere, his phone continued to play music, but it sounded like it was coming from several rows in front of him now. Above him he could hear Greg shouting. He pushed up, trying to ignore the ringing in his ear and the pain from all kinds of little aches. “Down here!” he called out, reaching back to feel the back of his head. He couldn’t see anything, but the slight dampness explained the throbbing his was feeling.
Greg had had his shares of injuries and whiplash on the field but this felt different, maybe because he hadn't been expecting it or maybe because he wasn't wearing a shit ton of pads. His neck felt like it was getting stiffer by the second and moving felt all sorts of wrong. Still he focused on digging Sebastian out from under the bags. "Are you hurt?" he asked and there were other people he needed to check up on, mainly whoever was fucking screaming, but he wasn't sure he could get to them yet and his best friend was right there so making sure he was okay was priority.
Was he hurt? Sebastian almost said no by default. He hurt, but it didn’t feel like a serious injury. The only thing that worried him was the blood, but then he’d read that head wounds always bled a lot. It also felt like he’d gotten a good punch to the face, but he wasn’t at all sure what might have hit him. “Yeah. Hit my head, but… I think I’m okay,” he said, pushing one of the bags out of the way that had him wedged in tight. “Are you okay?” he asked. “Who’s screaming?” It sounded like a girl, but that didn’t really narrow it down with the cheerleaders on the bus. “Jules. Can you see Jules?” he asked with rising panic.
Greg couldn't see shit. Not only was it dark and chaotic, his vision was a little blurry and damn it, that meant he probably had a concussion. Again. "No and I don't know and uh, no... I mean, I'm okay, I guess, I don't know who's screaming." He couldn't see shit, but he could listen to everything that was going on. "I think I hear her? She's talking so she's gotta be okay." Since she was not the one screaming. "You're bleeding," he said then as his hand touched on something warm and wet when he reached down for Sebastian. "You're hurt, shit... How bad is it?"
