"Vampires, clearly they didn't give you the memo when you got here too." Connolly leaned back against the counter, holding the bottle of whisky by its neck. "The town is run by them, hence why you can leave. They feed on stragglers who get lost, people who are running away from things like I was way back when." Taking a swig, she placed the bottle down gently and looked up at him. "Vampires can leave...I can leave, you can't. Its the same shit I went through as a human not too long ago. And don't worry, this isn't some Twilight based fan shit going on, its real and the danger is even more real than you realize."
It wasn't the best explanation that Connolly could give, but his reactions would be his own.
"I won't hurt you, I won't kill you, I won't feed from you. A vow I kind of made with a dear friend of mine at where you're staying. For the time being, you're safe here and I want to help you because no one helped me or cared to. No human is going to help you. A vampire can, if they're willing."
Connolly held out her hand for him to accept, a truce and friendship.
