Lucy was humming as she walked into Perked, her long hair pulled back into a ponytail and her bangs in her eyes. She didn't know if there was going to be anyone there to keep her distracted, and that was a good and a bad thing. Lucy thought it was a bit ridiculous that she didn't have anyone special in her life and she was 26 years old. She didn't know if it was something that she should be worried about, because frankly, Shadow Falls was a very small town. She knew most of the people in town. If there was no one to date, then she was just out of luck.
Sitting down, she opened up her laptop and turned it on before going to get in line for some coffee. She didn't like working at Starbucks, there was just too many people. She liked Perked better for that purpose. It was nice for the locals, and it didn't get as many tourists. Lucy got herself a cappucino and a toasted bagel and cream cheese and went back to her writing. She was working on a novel. It was her first one, and she was very proud of it. It was going to be a horror novel. Lucy really liked Stephen King, and she had ambitions to be as good and prolific a writer as he was. It was going to be a vampire novel, since it seemed they were really hot at the moment. Lucy hadn't really thought much about doing a vampire novel, she was mostly just wanting to get published, and she knew that if done right it didn't have to be cheesy.
She was humming along as she worked, deciding to get some work done before she pulled out her IPod. She liked to get a few pages done before she distracted herself with music.
