Herrick was stupid, because that was what he planned to do exactly. He certainly wasn't going to put her pants on for her, he wasn't that invested in her presentation. He followed her example and didn't say anything, at least to her, on the ride back into town. Sometimes he sang along with the radio, though, not that she would notice. Mouse, in the back, was probably thirsty right about now and could do with some sugar but he kept an eye on her in the mirror just to make sure nothing went wrong.
When he finally stopped, outside the dinner he shut the car off in a spot reserved for the handicapped and then unbuckled his belt, twisting around to get a look at her. "We're here." He told her. "Your hair's on point, he'll probably like it that you surprised him in your underwear, guys like that sort of thing. Let's go say hello." Unlocking the doors he got out, pulled her's open and held a hand out to her. "Think you can stand? It would be cooler if I carried you in."
