"Um," In truth, Daniel had only half-forgotten about Lily. He knew that the two of them used to be an item. "not exactly." But he had never seen his brother look at Lily the way he did at Sydney, and it just seemed like the previous relationship had been more, innocent wasn't the right word, but it was as close as he could get to what he was actually thinking. Danny shook his head to try and get back on track here. He was on a mission, and he was not going to get distracted.
"I know you've had a girlfriend." he said with a small smile. "But," Okay how do I say this without sounding like dad? Or worse, mum. he thought. "the point is, I never had to walk into a room and give a warning before when Lily was around." he got out, figuring that the was the best way, and at least hint at what this talk was going to be about.
Daniel had a small smile playing on his face, to let Eric know that this was just a friendly talk between two brothers. Passing along some information (though part of him felt like he had only read half the manual on this kind of stuff, as he hadn't experienced it all yet, but he could imagine, right?). "Look," he started. "what I'm getting at is I'm trying to save you a very awkward conversation with dad, that trust me, you don't want to have." he said shuttering at bit at the thought of that conversation.
Daniel sighed realizing that now was probably a good time for the learning aid. He sat up a bit and pulled out a rolled up magazine from his back pocket. "Eric, this is a woman." he said pointing to the attractive woman on the cover, handing over the magazine.
