Emerson looked at Teddy and furred his eyebrows together. It took him a few moments, but he realized that the guy wasn't kidding. He honestly wanted maternity leave. That was something that Selene Weasley probably didn't want truthfully. People would have to force that woman to take that leave for her child. "Because materinity leave is for females," he said in all serious now. If Teddy didn't say much to his little joke, then there wasn't a reason for Emerson to feel bad for saying it.
"Well, I don't think Mr. Potter would have any trouble giving you a least a vacation week or two. To my knowledge, I don't think you've taken one since you've been in the department," Emerson said, thinking exactly if Teddy had taken some time off. None really came into mind, so there shouldn't be a problem. "Why don't you talk to Harry's secretary, Harleen, and see if she can pencil you in so you can talk about receiving some?" It was probably the best that Emerson could do, encourge the younger male to go through it. The department head was pretty busy, so he honestly figured that if Teddy wanted to talk to Harry in a professional way, they'd have to schedule it. If Aras wasn't missing, then there wouldn't be a problem of just knocking on the door. Things had to change a little bit with an impending crisis.
