Cheyenne had just had the most startling and heartbreaking conversation. Of course during the conversation she was alone with a man she didn't trust, so her nerves were on end. When his confession came, she found that she was even more nervous than she had been before. The heartbreaking part, was that she had accused someone she cared very deeply for of something he hadn't done.
As soon as the conversation with Trystan Warrington was over, she left the room quickly and went off in search of his twin brother. Her reason for her quick retreat was two-fold. Despite his promise that he would never attempt to violate her again, she wasn't sure he'd actually hold his promise. After all, he'd already lied to her once--when he pretended to be someone he wasn't. The other reason was she suddenly felt an urge to make things right with her ex-boyfriend.
She decided to try the common room first. She made her way into the dungeons, nervously trying to figure out what she would tell Austin when she saw him. She didn't even know where to begin. She didn't know if he'd ever look at her the same, and with the realization that the meaningless kiss had come from Trystan, not Austin, she had a feeling that she was still very much not over the younger twin.
Walking into the common room, her eyes fell on a familiar blonde boy sitting on the couch. She walked over toward him and sat down on the same couch, but not as close to him as she used to. The reason for the distance wasn't the breakup that had happened at the end of her fourth year, nor was it the distrust she had had for Austin until today's revelation. It was uncertainty as to how he would react to her.
"It wasn't you," she said finally, sheepishly. It wasn't a question, it was a statement. She knew the truth now, she just wish she knew how to make all of this up to him. "I-I'm sorry," she said softly, closing her eyes and glancing away for a moment. "He just made it so convincing."
