Summary: Stasi has a breakdown during her best exam
Completion: Complete
Stasi had two rules when it came to exams, besides the obvious studying. One was to get a good night's sleep before every exam and the other was to eat a good breakfast the day of. Waking up ten minutes before she had to be in the Great Hall for exams meant that both rules had been broken. She'd been incredibly worried about one of her exams that day, though she realistically knew that this exam would give her no trouble, she knew that she would in no way fail this exam, but she wanted to do her best. She'd lost track of time studying until she likely fell aslep in the early morning hours.
Now she was dressed in her uniform, though it wasn't nearly as neat as it usually was. Thankfully, her school robes covered her uniform and were as neat as they could possibly be put on in a rush. Her hair was brushed and pulled back loosely in a ponytail. She looked somewhat disheveled, but not sloppy, as she ran from Dorm 2 to the Great Hall--which was thankfully a shorter distance than the Ravenclaw dorm she'd occupied the previous year.
By the time she got there, all of the other seventh year students taking the exam were already there. She took a seat in the back, only drawing the attention of the people near the back of the Great Hall, and of course the examiner at the front of the room. She gave him an apologetic smile and glanced down at the table so that she didn't have to notice that anyone was still staring at her, though they probably weren't.
She waited quietly through the rest of the exam for her turn, as it was the week of practical exams, the examiner would take each student into the chamber behind the staff table to perform the necessary charms. Of course none of them knew for sure which charms they were to perform, which caused the higher level of stress, even among those who were confident in the subject. Even Stasi.
"Anastasia Goldstein," he called and the students watched her walk all the way through the room toward the chamber. As she walked, she felt as though she was walking toward a judgment of some sort. While she was, in a way, it shouldn't be nearly as bad as it felt to her. Come on, Stasi, she told herself quietly, you know this stuff and you know you know it. She knew that this was the truth, but her fears remained. She smiled politely at the examiner before stepping into the chamber, awaiting her judgment.
The first few charms were easy and gave Stasi no problem, when the third prompt came, she froze. You know this one. She did know this one, but with the stress and nerves, her mind had gone completely blank at some point between waking up in a rush to make the exam and this point. Her eyes remained on her target, her wand pointing at it and her mouth moved, but no words came out, nor was any charm cast. She didn't know what to do at this point.
Tears slid down her cheeks as her eyes watched the target intently, almost expecting the answer to become clear. "You have ten more seconds," she heard the examiner say, yet the answer still wasn't there. She closed her eyes and muttered a charm with a flick of her wrist. Opening her eyes, she noticed that the charm had actually accomplished what it was supposed to, but the entire exam had been so nerve-wracking that she was at the end. She whirled around to glance at the examiner who opened the door. "You're done," he told her, gesturing that she could go through.
She'd have to face her classmates looking horribly. She took a deep breath and ran through the door and through the center aisle between the tables, probably drawing a lot more attention than she had coming in at the very last moment. She didn't care anymore at this point, she needed to get out of there. Once she reached the double doors of the Great Hall, she ran toward her dorm, ready to just go to her room and cry.
