Summary: Emily takes her work with her when the day is done, but how much work gets done?
Completion: In-Progress
Emily's eyes scanned over the various owls sent to her, actually the anonymous Gossip Columnist at Witch Weekly. While some people knew that Emily worked there, no one actually knew what she did there. As her name didn't appear anywhere in the magazine, she told many she was the editor's secretary. It was believable enough and for the sake of keeping the tradition of secrecy among gossip columnists, it was a small lie. She only really told that to people who asked, though. If they were satisfied with her place of employment and inquired no further, well then she didn't have to lie.
She was now reading various tips from her loyal readers. Some were, of course, lies, but that was how gossip was. She wasn't held responsible for anything she wrote in her column. She generally picked out the juiciest bits even if she knew they were untrue. Her readers, after all, didn't care about the truth, they just needed their gossip fix.
As Emily read over one, a smirk crossed her face as she put one in the 'yes,' pile, which was a new pile as she hadn't even finished reading her articles yet. Usually at this point there were only 'maybes' and 'nos' because she could only fit a certain amount in her space. She'd sort the latter pile to pick out her 'yes' pile, but this one was definitely going in. Whether it was true or not, it was just good. Where do people come up with these things? she asked herself as she read another one. Famous quidditch player seen with two girls in one night? That's nothing new. No.
