Pregnant. That word had been on Sophie's mind ever since the healer told her. She was convinced there was no way she could be pregnant, it just couldn't happen to her, but she knew better. As much as she slept around, she was lucky to have not gotten pregnant before. Now, well at least she knew who the father was. It didn't mean he'd stick around, though. That was her fear, actually, that he'd leave her as soon as he found out. Why that bothered her, exactly, she wasn't sure. Yes, she'd like the baby to actually have it's father around, but there seemed more to it than that, she didn't want this to be the end of it, and believe it or not, it wasn't just about the sex.
Xalden wasn't exactly the caring sort of person. Sophie knew that out of all of his relatives he only truly cared about one of them. Family was an area where he and Sophie differed, her first instinct was to take care of the child, but his would likely be to run. She really didn't want that, but she was determined that whatever happened, she would not show weakness. After all, she was Sophie Avery. Pregnancy didn't change that.
She'd apparated from her flat to his place after making Jayden promise to not come after her to try to fight Xalden. Her brother wasn't too happy with the pregnancy, but it wasn't that he was mad at her or didn't want the baby around, it was that he was mad at Xalden for making Sophie that way. Little did he know that if it wasn't Xalden she was sleeping with, it would be someone. Whether it was still the Dark Lord or she'd reverted back to sleeping with everyone, she would probably still be in the same position, one only difference being that she might not know who the father was.
She shook those thoughts as she knocked on the door and started pacing in front of it, trying to figure out how exactly to tell Xalden their situation.
