Sophie had spent the past couple of weeks sick and she didn't know why. She had a knack for avoiding illnesses usually. It was strange, though, it wasn't as though she was laying in bed constantly feeling bad or anything. She spent most of her time feeling fine, then she'd be hit with a wave of nausea that would send her running to the bathroom. She just hoped her brother didn't notice. Sophie was a stubborn one and whatever this was, she'd get through it. She didn't want anyone worrying about her. That was the last thing, she needed, actually. She didn't want anyone to think of her as weak at all. She was too strong for that. Which was exactly why she'd get through this on her own.
She'd also been hungrier than normal, eating bigger meals than she was used to and eating little snacks throughout the day. She'd exercise more to keep her figure despite the increased appetite, but she could only hold down about half of the food she actually ate.
Certain smells would have her running to the bathroom as well. She didn't make eggs anymore for breakfast because she couldn't stand the smell. When making coffee, she had to go into her bedroom until it was done. She liked the taste of it, but lately the smell wasn't sitting with her too well.
She honestly had no idea what was causing this mysterious illness, nor did she really care to find out. She just wanted it to pass.
She was thinking about it that morning while sitting in her room avoiding the dreadful coffee smell. This was after she'd accidentally caught a whiff of it that sent her running. She hoped Jayden wasn't awake yet to hear that, but she could never tell with him.
