Is it possible to be in love with a guy you haven't had for ten years? Valencia sighed softly, the breakup in her seventh year vivid in her mind. She knew that she shouldn't have been sleeping with Xalden while she was dating Felix, and she knew that when Felix told her he couldn't see her anymore if she was sleeping with Xalden, she should have told him she'd stop. Back then, in her seventeen year old mind, there had been nothing wrong with it. Xalden was just sex, Felix was the one she loved, besides, she and Xalden had started sleeping together long before she and Felix started dating. He couldn't have acted like he never knew.
Even after breaking up, Valencia never really got over Felix. When she found out he had a daughter from some other woman, she had gotten extremely jealous. It wasn't that she wanted a child, it was that he had slept with someone. She knew he wasn't hers anymore and he could sleep with anyone she chose, hell she was doing it, but knowing that he had ripped her apart in ways that she refused to explain. She should have been moving on, not holding back.
The last three years had been miserable with him in prison, she'd been overjoyed to find that he was the one that had been broken out in the mass break out back in Feburary, though she only showed enough happiness to show that she was still a friend. A friend who still loved him and wasn't over him despite the time they'd spent apart. Ten years and she wasn't even close to being over him.
With the aurors out looking for him and the others that had been broken out, Valencia had taken to going to see him as much as she could to keep him company. Not too much, though. She couldn't let on to her feelings. She couldn't let him know she still loved him. He was over her, he had a daughter with another woman and had spent three years in prison and probably didn't give a single thought to Valencia who had missed him constantly.
She neared the hideout and looked around to be sure she wasn't being followed by anyone, then she went in quickly before she could be seen. While the likelihood of being seen was low, she still couldn't risk it. If caught, the man she loved could go back to Azkaban and she couldn't do that. She couldn't handle losing him again, even though she could never truly have him in the way she wanted him. "Felix?" she asked, glancing around as she pushed those thoughts aside. She might never be his girlfriend again but she was still his best friend.
