Re: Dex and Bertie
Dex chuckled. "Perhaps it's the women that is off today and not you?" He said, trying to find a silver lining for the poor chap. "In any case, instead of being caught up with one of them you've found your way to being here with me," he grinned.
He thought about seeing into his future and then gave a small shrug of his broad shoulders. "What is the surprise of life if you already know what lies ahead of you?" He asked. "If you know that you'll fall in love and you know with whom, then there is no romance in it. If you see yourself with a child or you know how a business venture goes then you don't have to fight for anything," he shook his head. "And to know when you may die..." he shook his head once more and made a face. "That is something I wish to never know," he looked at Bertie. "Also, I live a very, very long life."
"As for being happy, I am," he nodded. "I could possibly be happier, but I'm happy enough. I have a son, I live a good life, and I have friends like you, there isn't much to complain about."
