Gabriel's laugh was a genuine one, and he clapped Bertie on the shoulder.
"So you've gotten to see Mr Kessinger's personal collection, then?" He said, hardly having to reach for the double entendre. "That's quite an honor." He grinned. "Mr Kessinger is a professional associate, and a good man to have in one's back pocket. I'm glad you're on good terms."
He caught glimpse of a familiar face just then, and nodded back to Bertie. "I'll be seeing you later," he said, "and I may request a private audience." He leaned in, his eyes sparkling. "How does it go? Me miserum! certas habuit puer ille sagittas?" He winked, and clapped Bertie on the back once more before making his way once more into the crowd.
