Leah and Bertie
Leah raised an eyebrow at the long winded and disjointed apology, a bit bewildered. "Bertie, you didn't know he was my father so how could I think it was anything other than incidental? And besides, it isn't as if I didn't know he had relations with other men." Her father would have relations with just about anyone or anything if it caught his eye and reciprocated. Knowing that had been like knowing the sun rose in the east in the mornings, a simple fact of every day life and nothing to particularly comment on. She was a bit more discriminating in her tastes, preferring men predominately, but was hardly going to criticize her father over something like that.
A puzzled headshake was her response to his question. "What offer?"
