Leah and Gabriel
His daughter laughed at his comment and took the offered hand. "Oh papa, never change. You're anything but old, and of course you can dance with me!"
The truth was she had been surrounded by admirers all evening, and she'd enjoyed every minute of it. Her nearly scandalous gown probably had something to do with it besides just her succubi nature. If not for the fact it was a masquerade costume ball she'd have never gotten away with wearing the outfit in public but Leah loved how it looked on her. With a bit of luck she might even find a few lovers among the admirers and be able to quit Miss Lydia's.
She looked fondly at her father as they danced. He looked wonderful in his costume and it was good to see him almost back to his old self again. The incident a few weeks ago had left her a little more clingy at first, as for a short time she'd had reason to fear the worst had happened in the fire. Leah wasn't ready to be an orphan yet, not for a long time to come, and the fire had been a reminder of her father's mortality.
