Re: Leah Allen
When they'd first arrived at the party, Gabriel had told his daughter he expected she'd have no end of a good time without his hovering, but that he was hoping for at least one dance.
It took a while, but he managed to catch her during a brief lull where she wasn't surrounded by a group of admirers, and he swooped in with a grin and an eyebrow raised.
"Would you make this old man happy?" He asked, extending his hand. "let him take the most brilliant creature in the room out for a spin?"
The ball felt like a return of sorts to a slightly more even keel after the incident two weeks ago that'd left him sore and exhausted, and her fearing the worst. He'd come back home, though it'd been a near thing -- and she was one of the things he'd held onto to get him there.
She was glowingly lovely in her metallic bodice and white, flowing skirts, and looking at her, he couldn't help but feel grateful that he was there to see it.
