Denial of Fears
In the darkness there was a sense of fear. A need for escape. Silent Hill was such a cold place. Why would anyone now want to come to this world of pain and fear? James sat in one of the old stores as he had just took care of a few Lying Bodies. The room smelt of blood... The scent was sickening to the stomach. How long has he been in this world? The world...he made with his guilt.
The room he was in... How could he describe it? Everything was disgusting. The packages of food had somehow shrunk and there was a foul smell coming from the freezer. Though Jame did not even wish to move over and check. Afraid he might see something he didn't want to see. Or something worse... It was horrible. The sinner had escaped the executioners of his pain. The Pyramid Heads were a bit riled up now. Though they were slow as to walk... You could hear it. The clank of every move. It was like... A heart beat.
"I don't want it."
His mind would always tell him differently. The images of Maria being killed. The reverse images of now Mary being killed by HIM. James wraps arms around himself as he shuts those eyes.
"I'm sorry... I know it was wrong..."
The steady move and beat of those who come for him were getting closer. The one he did fear was like the leader of these savage yet clever beasts of his mind. The head Pyramid Head always carried a Great Knife. Those who were with spears were the following ones. Thankfully...it was NOT his punishment. These were not the main one. James took in a deep breath as he listens. He knew just what they would do to him. His punishment was could not be escaped. He had to take the punishment every night. Every morning. James was stuck in his own hell.
"But you choose to stay..." Comes a haunted voice.
James stops his rocking of the body as he glances over his shoulder nervously. There he was... How did the main Pyramid Head get inside the store? The others were still outside. Sudden steps coming up to him. James can not forget the eerie screech of the Great Knife being dragged along the floor. It made the heart freeze. His arms had goose bumps on them. Soon enough the Pyramid Head was standing behind James.
"What do you mean?"
"James Sunderland, you choose to stay... You choose to relive your past... YOU remain for your punishment."
That was right. James did stay for his punishment only. He could have left with a clear slate but he stayed. Stayed. The sinner knew what he did... He was over that. But the reoccurring nightmares and visions always haunted him. Mess of blonde hair was swept through again as James runs fingers through his hair nervously.
"...I...did..."
The feeling of something metallic was brushing up against his back. It had to be the Great Knife. How many times before did that beast try to swing at him. A few times did it come close to his skin to sink the cold reality of steel or what ever metal that was into him. James peers up with those green eyes. You could hardly see anything under the top Pyramid upon their heads. His punishment glanced down to him. The main Pyramid Head's pointed top was moved down as it was studying its prey.
"James Sunderland... Time for your punishment."
"Wait... I don't want to! Not now..." James pleads.
The Pyramid Head tips its head to the side as if to try and reason with his prisoner. It was true... James could not escape this fate. Though he had a chance to before, it was too late now. The Pyramid Head moving a hand upon James' left shoulder and clamping its hand down hard like a vise. James cringes as he was taking the painful grasp.
"Get up."
"No... No..." James shook his head.
The grip tightened on his shoulder. The more he refused or denied his pains and pleasure believe it or not, the tighter this grip would get. Pyramid Head glances down to the poor sinner with no remorse. How could anyone see into those eyes of his? Pyramid Head pulls his pathetic sinner up from the sitting position. These creatures had great amounts of strength. Amazing how James happened to survive this long with them around. Crying out in pain, James moves to his feet. That was not enough for the executioner. The Pyramid Head had James' feet dangling inches up off the ground. The pointed end of the covering over its head pointed to him.
"Crying will get you nowhere. You brought this upon yourself."
"Please..." Pleads the broken man.
The Great Knife Wielder begins to drag James along to the freezer of the store. This was going to be painful... The being was making James take his punishment inside the freezer or meat locker. Whatever anyone called it.
"Oh God... W-why there?" James whimpers.
The man got nothing for the answer. The slow pace of the Pyramid Head was in a rhythm. Funny how each of these beings did the exact same movement in step. His executioner bringing him into the back where the freezer was. That horrid sound of the Great Knife dragging along the ground as Pyramid Head moves the man to the back. James closes his eyes as the being drags him onward. The next things James felt was the cold sting of the metal wall against his back. Eyes opening once again to stare up at the pyramid covering of the Pyramid Head. The Great Knife right at the side of James' left leg. His executioner giving him quiet yet staring down to him.
"It's...freezing in here..." Mutters James as arms wrap around his waist.
"Cold like your heart... Cold like your thoughts... But a part of you is warm."
James registers all of this into his thoughts. 'Everything cold..but..my..what?' His mind thought for a long minute. Silence was all around but for the low buzzing of the motor that kept this little room cold for the meat and cold products. James rubs at his eyes as they were beginning to close. His mind was so fogged. 'My what is warm!?' Then it comes to him in a harsh blow. The Great Knife helps out as the Pyramid Head swings it close enough to the sandy blonde's shoulder on the left. Those eyes of James' widened at the force behind that blow and the realization.
"Why would you say that?!" James protests angrily. "I don't always think with that part!"
The Pyramid Head stays silent but kneels down closer to his prey. "..."
James felt the tension rising. How could that be? He loved Mary with his all. His heart was not cold! James refused to believe such foolishness... Yet, he was lying to himself. Thus, his mental torment would be there.
