Dare: write a love poem to Robert Downey Jr's platforms.
Lifts
I too know the sorrow of living close to the earth Of striving to reach the heavens from my limited perch I too know the pain that can come from feeling so small (why does Gwyn always wear heels? She's already six feet tall.) And at times it plays havoc with my sense of worth.
To see you fight against your own limitations Brings peace to my ongoing fight with frustration When I first saw you there with those lifts on your feet I felt such a strong sense of joy and relief And to me they really are cause for celebration
No more shall man be defined by his height Not with you (and Tom Cruise) leading the charge on this fight And though you may claim that those thick rubber soles Are only on your feet because of movies and roles My friend, you have truly shown me the light
To my own fears of shortness I now can say 'stop it' If there's one man's example I should follow, dear Rob, it Will always be yours, and I comfortably feel That I can be proud to go out wearing heels For no longer shall we be content being hobbits.
