We know that many of you are writing, drawing/painting/storyboarding your Grand Challenge pieces, and good for you.

But for those of you who are struggling, or want a bit of a break, or who aren't participating and are bored, we have a challenge for you.

Let's get those creative juices following!

Here are two prompts. You can choose one or both. Try to keep it around 100 words, but if you feel inspired and want to go further, feel free.

Challenge:

Angst prompt: Write Severus' death. It can be during the Final Battle, by snakebite, potions accident (to his chagrin!) or from old age.

Humor/Fluff/ PWP prompt: Severus and the character of your choice are about to have sex when they realize they've run out of lube.

Okay everyone, let's have fun with this. The normal rules for points and headers apply.

Anti-Valentine’s Day 2010

Dear Members,

"You're exaggerating," WhiteCotton said in disbelief and watched as Severus shook his head, thoroughly depressed.

He crossed his legs, drawing the eyes of the Webmistresses and said, "I assure you I am not."

"Surely it hasn't been that long," snow said, trying to steal a glimpse between Severus' thighs.

In response Severus pulled out a bottle of lubricant and squeezed slowly, as if for effect, and sighed as nothing but dried dust came out.

"It can dry up?" Torina whispered to thesewarmstars, who nodded sadly.

"And to make matters worse," Severus said in a low tone so that all four ladies leaned in to listen, "I'll be fifty on Saturday."

WhiteCotton sputtered and Torina let out a little gasp while snow put down her glass with a bang.

"Well, that settles it," she said. "Let's celebrate it with a bang."

"Indeed," said WhiteCotton, adjusting Severus' neckcloth. "A gang-bang will clear your pipes of dust perfectly."

Severus scoffed for show, but couldn't hide the hopeful look in his eyes.


So, ready for a little challenge are we? Think we can delve a little into Severus' *sighs* world and pull out something for his 50th birthday?

While everyone is waiting for the Holidays Fests to start (but before the Americans have to endure family on Thanksgiving), the Webmistresses thought we'd like to see a bit of smut flying around.

After copious wining and dining, the next in the 2009 Author and Artist Interviews is with jadzialove.

Have you ever read a story so wonderful you wished you could follow the author home and pester them with questions about the smallest details of their work?

Perhaps you wished to ask RaeWhit what influenced 'Down the Rabbit Hole,' or Gildedheart what influences her version of Severus, or what DementorDelta was thinking when she wrote 'Parseltongue-Tied.' Or perhaps a general question for every author, such as, 'my God, where did that genius idea come from and should I be afraid of you?'

The Webmistresses of SeverusSighs have read through some of the greatest Severus-centric works on offer and dragged their authors—kicking, screaming and quite a few from a nice meal—to the Lounge. We then broke out our big, happy heat lamp, tied them to a chair—to keep them from falling off, of course—and proceeded to ask questions about our favorite stories.

We've interrogated...er...interviewed five authors and two artists: joanwilder[RaeWhit], accioslash, jadzialove, gingertart, gildedheart, dementordelta and our own whitecotton. Over the coming week we will be proud to bring you their interviews, posted to the group and our Insane Journal account, where follow-up questions for the authors are welcome.

End note: please do not feed the authors and artists while you are in the Lounge. And if they start to cry and beg to be released, just tell them to have another drink. We left them enough for the week so they shouldn't be complaining.

This Friday, 2nd of October, Severus *Sighs* celebrates its first anniversary, plus its launch on IJ and DW.

That means a Challenge!

1. Your topic is anniversaries (however you choose to interpret the term) and somewhere in your response, Severus must sigh.
