Severus sighed as he straightened, brushing dirt and dead leaves from the knees of his robes. He walked along the side of the plot, not to walk atop the grave, and caressed the name carved in cold granite. It had been nine years. They hadn't even had that many years together. He schooled his face back to blankness when he heard the soft crunch of steady footsteps approaching. “It's getting dark, Severus. Time to go, I think.” Draco stopped at his shoulder and stared at the stone. “I'd hoped it would get easier for you. Has it?” “No. Not really.” His voice was rough. “His kind die young. We knew that. Still...” Draco nodded, and looped his arm around Severus's. “You'll find someone else. Remus would have wanted that for you. You know it.” He tugged on Snape's arm, directing him down the twilit hillside. “Who else on earth would have me?” They paced together down the path, the pair in black wool from neck to ankles, arm in arm. “We would.” Draco looked down toward Potter waiting at the gate. “Come back to the house with us? Come home?” Severus sighed.
