SeverusSighs Grand Challenge Timeline:
Signs-ups end April 22nd
All submissions are due June 28th

Q: So, besides Severus, who's running this thing?
A: Along with Severus' usual sycophants—WhiteCotton, atypicalsnowman, Torina Archelda and thesewarmstars—joanwilder and venturous have decided to brave Severus' ire. It is with much gratitude that the Webmistresses welcome these two into the yolk of slavery.
Q: What if I'm not sure in which pairing I'd like to put Severus?
A: Severus is a fickle bastard. This is something we appreciate, so if your story begins a Snarry and ends up being a Snapery, that's completely understandable. God knows it's impossible to talk Severus down.
Q: What if I'd like to have a Snape-Harry mentor fic, with Harry in a side pairing, but Severus with no one at all?
A: As long as Severus is one of the main characters, and the side romance does not take over the fic, that's fine. A frustrated Snape, of course, is an angry Snape, so handle at your own risk.
Q: Is this only a slash-fest? What if I'd like to put Snape with Hermione?
A: While SeverusSighs started out as a slash group, we believe there are miles of stories in Severus' shoes. Severus paired with anyone is acceptable.
Q: What if I'm not sure which prompt/theme to use, but I'd like to sign up? What should I do?
A: If you'd like to sign up with a prompt you think you might use, then need to change your mind, that's totally fine. Just inform the mods and we'll make sure Severus knows to expect an adventure fic and not the romance you had planned.
Q: What if I'd like to submit more than one entry to the fest?
A: Although he hates to admit it, Severus does like hearing stories about his own brilliance/bravery/prowess, so if you've met your own personal challenge early enough, feel free to take on another. Just be sure to sign up for your second entry by the 22nd of April.
Q: Is there somewhere I can go to talk over my plot?
A: SeverusSighs was originally a Yahoo group, dedicated to discussion about our favorite anti-hero. If you have any need for help, or would like some encouragement, there's always someone in the Lounge to lend an ear.
Q: How will I post my art/fic?
A. Severus is a contol freak. You'll be sending your completed entry to grandchallengeteam at gmail dot com, and Severus and his minions will be posting it for you.
Q: What if I can't make my deadline?
A: Feel free to contact the moderators at grandchallengeteam at gmail dot com. Severus will most likely assign detention, during which he'll decide whether or not an extension can be granted. This will be done on a case-by-case basis.
Q: What about fics that are too long to be included in one IJ post?
A: Severus has a special offsite location for stories that won't fit in an IJ cut. You can be sure he'll take good care of your story. It is about him, after all.
Q: I want to sculpt Severus in playdough. Is that allowed?
A: Yes, especially if you take care to be anatomically correct, and flattering. For any craft or sculpture project, remember your photography is what represents your work.
Q: Can I photoshop Alan Rickman and myself together in a passionate embrace?
A: You certainly may do so for your own amusement, but Severus warns that such blatant copyright abuse can result in unpleasant fisticuffs and litigation, and as such, no photo-manipulations will be accepted for the Grand Challenge.
