Harry was enjoying his new life -- the power, the feeding, the revenge. He reveled in his ability to move through shadows and sneak up on his prey, making small noises to unnerve them, clouding their minds from rational thought, driving them to pure, instinctual fear. Their screams rent the air and their eyes blazed in terror. It was all so intoxicating and it spurned him on in his bloodlust. When he finally feasted, the coppery tang filled his mouth and justice rang in his soul.
He and his sire took their time attacking witches and wizards throughout Great Britain who had done them wrong. They had already taken out smaller prey like Marcus Flint and Greg Goyle, the first shrieking like a girl as he tripped over his own feet while attempting to escape and the second such a filthy coward that he stood there in shock, wetting himself. Snape had such a wonderful time playing with Avery, working all sorts of dark curses upon him before allowing him the pain and bliss of being sucked dry.
Now they were after larger prey.
The house stood large and deserted in the faint light of a moon that barely left shadows within shadows. Nocturnal creatures scurried out of the way as their mist rolled over the land. Frost was already on the ground, though neither vampire felt its effects, blending instead into the dreariness around. They glided up the terrace steps and through the cracks in the wooden doors. They flowed from one room to the other in search of the master and mistress of the house.
They found her first, sitting in her receiving room, staring at the dwindling flames in the floo.
“Hello, Narcissa,” came a voice out of the gloom.
She stood up and whipped around, fear enlarging her eyes. “Who’s there?” Her wand was out but she couldn’t see anyone to point it at. A chuckle from the darkness sent shivers down her spine. She bared her teeth. “Show yourself!”
This time, two chuckles rang out. “It would be our pleasure to come closer to you, dear Narcissa.”
She bristled at the familiarity. “You have no right to address me so. Who are you?”
“Oh, but I had every right as your friend.” Snape snarled out, sarcasm dripping from his fangs as he remembered every slight she’d sent his way over the years: her disdain at Hogwarts, her mistrust of him as a young Death Eater, her quiet condescension even when she wished his help in protecting Draco. Well, now he was going to take those back in a dish served cold. He solidified his presence before her, menacing and malicious.
“Severus! How --?” Her eyes were wide in shock and panic. He had been dead! They had all said so.
“A plan I held in reserve, one I am relishing in as my own.” He stepped forward, his red eyes burning into hers, enthralling her mind so she couldn’t run.
She fought him, instinct pushing at her to hide, to break free. But she was trapped and could only whimper.
He took another step forward, as Harry’s mist surrounded them, caressing her skin under her clothes and causing her to shiver in dreaded cold. Snape ran a taloned finger along her ivory cheek and down her face. She trembled violently at the touch, bile rising in her throat as she fought to be free.
“It is no use resisting, my dear. We are here for our due.”
At those words Harry formed behind her, grasping her upper arms as she screamed in complete terror. He let the sound fill him with joy. At long last the purebloods would pay.
They lunged for her neck, piercing both sides with their fangs. Her magic kicked out at them in futile protest, but they simply absorbed her darkness into their own as they drunk her blood into their bodies.
Her cries weakened into a gurgling mess as blood filled her airway and her life force poured out. They didn’t stop until she was dead and then severed her head from her lovely corpse. They left her there before the fire and went in search of their next prey, her husband.
----
They didn’t have far to look. Lucius Malfoy had heard his wife’s screams from across the manor and had rushed to her side, but he was too late. They heard him skid to a halt just outside her door and grinned at each other. In silent agreement they changed back into mist, just as he opened the door to come and save her.
Not that there would be any saving.
Lucius froze in horror as he saw Narcissa’s torn body. His jaw twitched to say something, though his mind refused to process that she was dead. A sound from the hallway startled him and he spun, wand up and pointed at the door. Nothing was there.
“What did this?” he whispered, looking around for the source of the attack. There was nothing at the window, nothing by the tables and chairs, and nothing in the bedroom next door. “Homenum Revelio,” he cast, but nothing appeared.
They chuckled at that, for they were no longer human. The sound echoed in the corridor.
Lucius squeaked but bravely stepped forward to defend his home. He tried to light the wall sconces, but Harry sent his magic out and banished his attempts. Lucius started sweating as fear raced through his veins. The wonderful smell egged on Harry, who ran cold, ephemeral hands over the man’s groin, enjoying the spike of trepidation he could feel from his prey.
He heard a growl from his sire and backed off. He wondered if he had broken some boundary of Snape’s, though they had not talked about such things. But Lucius had been Snape’s friend, so perhaps he wanted a taste of him first.
Sensing the danger he was in, Lucius began to back away toward an escape. But Snape wasn’t going to let him. He transformed into a wolf, still in the shadows, and growled again. The smell of terror intensified as Lucius’ fight-or-flight instinct kicked in. “No, please. Leave me alone.” He picked up his pace down the hallway, only to break into a run at the next growl from Snape.
And the chase was on. Harry changed into wolf form as well and they stalked after him together, taking their time to enjoy the hunt. They followed the scent through the halls of the ancient manor, moonlight spilling in from open curtains and their claws clicking on the stone floor.
They cornered Lucius in the library. His breaths were ragged as he tried to cast banishment spells and hexes at them. He could hear growls from all around in the stacks and didn’t know which way to go. “Be gone!” he cried, trying to scare them off.
Snape changed back into human form. “I think not, Lucius. You have escaped justice long enough.” As the man turned and fired his wand, Snape transformed back into his wolf form and lunged. He caught him on the shoulder and knocked him down.
Harry became mist again and surrounded the pair, letting his chill soak into their prey.
Lucius whimpered as his doom approached. He pushed off Snape’s wolf and stood, blood dripping from one side of his chest. “Confringo!”
The spell passed through a mist where the wolf had been and a chuckle sounded from behind him. He spun around, another spell on his lips, but he never got to say it as Harry’s wolf form bit into his throat. He fell again with Harry latched on top of him.
Harry drank his fill but was pulled off quickly.
Snape snarled as he lifted Harry up by his collar. “Potter! Your youthful exuberance needs to be curbed.” He threw the younger vampire down on top of their prey and shredded his clothes, exposing his privates. He took Harry savagely over Lucius’ slowly dying body, enjoying the scream from Harry’s lips as he drank from him. Harry came then, his ejaculate mingling with Lucius’ warm blood across the floor.
Finished with Harry, Snape pushed him away and then straddled Lucius. “Such a sad sight, so little pure blood left.” He lapped at the torn neck, finally sucking out the last of Lucius’ life.
Content smiles appeared on their faces as they lay in the dark of the library.
