A/N: This is the direct result of listening to Bob Dylan's Lay Lady Lay at 11pm last night.
His hair is fanned out around his face in a dark halo and I am filled with something. I can’t say what it is. Not because I am without words. I can’t say what it is because there is no word for just what it is that fills me. I’ve known Severus for twenty six years and I’ve never seen him smile. Yet now, in sleep, covered in blood and grime, he smiles. I should be with Harry, rejoicing in the end of the war. Instead I will stay with this man a while, just to see that secret smile.
