Re: 2. Horcrux? (Inamac - Slytherin)
And Number 2:
oOo
Hogwarts, 1994
Remus was so astonished that Severus should be apologising to him for the late delivery of his potion that he almost missed the explanation.
"Albus was asking me about Horcruxes. You remember Slughorn clamming up about them in third year?"
"And you spent a week in the Restricted Section doing research," Remus nodded. "Why is the Headmaster interested? Does he want you to make him one?"
Severus shrugged. "I had the impression that he would like me to have one. Except for the little detail that I'd have to murder someone first."
"Or have sex with them," Remus said, absently sipping his potion.
Snape nodded thoughtfully. "Yes. I don't think Albus or Horace recognised the 'little death' as an option. On the other hand..." He stopped as Remus, having finished and set down his potion, was using his 'other hand' to undo the potion master's buttons. After that the evening became very interesting.
Snape woke the next morning to a number of unusual, but pleasant, aches, to find half a bar of chocolate on his bedside table and a note from Remus.
It read "DO NOT EAT!!!" in large letters and, below in a less imperious hand, "Sorry could not find more suitable object for horcrux – suggest you keep this under refrigeration spell. I have other half."
Snape looked at the chocolate in exasperation. Trust Remus to think of chocolate in an emergency. Still, it might be useful to have around. He hoped, as he cast the necessary preservation spells, that the werewolf would have the sense to keep his own horcrux safe.
And that, Oh Best Beloved, is how Remus Lupin and Severus Snape survived the Battle of Hogwarts and lived happily ever after.
