As someone who has deep conflicts with the area in which I grew up, I really enjoyed this story. I read it and at first thought what the hell about that area could attract Snape? Honestly, I spent part of my life trying to run away from there.
Then I kinda sat down and thought about it, ignored the city I had in mind, and concentrated on the stillness of the area. Then I could see why it attracted Snape.
So yeah, this struck a cord with me. Your fics usually do but usually because OMG poor Harry, why did Snape do that to him?. But this one was a little deeper and—believe it or not—actually put a little salve on some old wounds.
Which is why my totally biased ass put it up first.
