Now that we generate points for commenting, I have to leave one on this story, even though I feel like I've read this one somewhere before...
It's interesting to read down the page and see what everyone else's take on Narcissa has been. I never saw her as either good or bad – I think that boxes her in unfairly, as well as any other character labeled as such. I just see her as a savvy, complex woman who is not above protecting her own interests.
In this fic, she married Lucius knowing he had had a tryst (or a hundred) with Snape. Now, to save Snape's life means any number of beneficial outcomes. Is it selfish? Perhaps. But motivations aside, she's portrayed as a realistic, multi-dimensional character, and above all else, I thank you for that!
