Challenge #2 (1001 ways to fake his own death)
A New Chance for Life
People are so stupid. Immortality might not be all-important, but cheating death could come in handy if you were one Severus Snape, universally despised Death-Eater. Life was looking good right now. If only he could get used to this new body. And to being a woman.
Okay. Life isn’t perfect, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Voldemort had been so proud of his ability to possess others, to permanently take them over by crushing their minds and personalities. On more than one occasion he had bragged of this to his best boot-licking lackeys–one of whom had been Severus.
So when the time came, Severus knew how to completely possess another, weaker individual. He didn’t plan on living forever, just his allotted time. Damn it, hadn’t he given more than enough to the cause? Didn’t he deserve this? And why had that blasted woman been blundering right in his path before his fateful meeting if this hadn’t been divine intervention?
And she was so perfect. He could continue on here at Hogwarts and nobody would notice anything at all–as long as he curbed his tongue. Fortunately, he still retained his own powerful magic! And when he would trip due to wearing her revolting clothing, people would simply assume she had been drinking too much sherry.
Then again, maybe he should take the opportunity to go far away where he was unknown and could be himself. After all, he might be able to fake being Sybil Trelawney to those who knew her, but who would want to fake that???
